My mother was diagnosed at the age of 65 years. She was a very healthy and active person that always looked out for health risks not only for her but for everyone around her. We were very shocked when the Oncologist told us it was Stage 4 Terminal Gastric Cancer. We were told on March 17th 2010 that she had a year with Chemo, she did one week of chemo and passed away on March 30th 2010. I broke my heart to see fear in someones face that never wore it before March 17th 2010.
my dad had the gastric sugery done in march of 2010 it seem as if it was successful. but the tumor reccured and came back aggsressively 2-3 month later and its really breaking me t o watch my dad suffers. but i try to keep ah good spirit around him i cant let him see me cry. i wait until am in my car driving home and let it all out, he,s stressing him self out just sitting there thinking about it. is killing him faster than the disease and it look to me as if he,s ready to give up. it the pain.
just at the begining of 2010 my father was a strong vibrant guy at the age of 58 he ate healthy and everything. one day he woke up feeling constapated and it went on for a couple of day seemed normal then he started feeling these bloated feeling like gas pain. two week later he severely drop like 25 pound so i sed oh no dad yopu got to go see a dr asap, he did an endoscopy and found a cancerous mass on his intestine. he was not able to keep any food in his stomach constantly vomiting.

I was just diagnosed with Adenocarcinoma, stomach cancer. What I experiences was what I thought was acid indegestion, after a second bout of it a month later, with black stools, tarry looking, I saw my Dr. who referred me to a gastro guy, found a large tumor, I see the surgeon on Tues, 17th to begin prep for surgery. I may be lucky, if you can call it that, it has not progressed to other organs. So I am hopeful that they can get it all. Hope this helps.
@mekdemscream the chemo, Magic Trial--ECF, has some side effects, but I'm tolerating it so far, in my 3rd week now. I am trying to find survival rates of this disease, surg. total removal, partial removal, and no surgery if PET scans show no cancer. But that info is not the easiest to find. Tough decision to make, and what is the recurrance rate after surgery. Sorry to hear about your dad. We really need more cures and not just treating tumors over long periods of time. Hope he makes it,
@jch3200 just try to stay strong bro. alway keep a positive attitude and know that anythings possible. i really hope you pull thru. you seem to be strong in spirit so lets try to keep it that way.
my Dad died of stomach cancer march 25th 2009. This is a deadly killer, very slow and painful way to go.Was hard seeing him like that. I pray for people with it.
Yes mnpd007 is absolutely correct, my husband passed from stomach cancer in July and it is a very very slow, painful and terrible way to die. He had no symptoms til it was too late. I miss him desperately but I am so happy that he is not suffering anymore. He is a wonderful man.
It's a surgery. The stomach cancer was detected at a very early stage by chance since the stage was far too early to cause symptoms.
Since only the stomach lining was involved in a localize area, it was possible to remove the tissue via endoscope.
If you have to have gastic cancer, this is when you want to have it.. By the time the cancer has advanced enough to cause the first symptom, it is already far too late to have a good prognosis for cure.. or even life.
I have a lot of problems with gas in my stomach and pain on the right side of it. But I mostly feel the pain after I lift heavy loads. I have set an appointment to see a doctor on Friday. But I pray to God each day that it isn't cancer. I feel so sorry for people who have it.
I was just concern. I also have what feels like a lump on the right side. And I recently lost weight without trying, have burning feeling under my feet, feel numbness and tingling in my hands and feet sometimes, sweat excessively under my armpits, and there is this feeling of food being left in my throat after I eat. My doctor said he thought I was okay! He sent me for some blood test. Thank you for your reply.
