  • could you use this technique for holding in a side panel window?

  • ugh! how much would it be for you guys to make that kind of top for a HAF 932, I liked it! prolly be expensive huh? =[

  • maybe a bit of a stupid question, but i tried using a drill and it wouldnt cut through the rivet.....what sort of drill bit do you need (masonry, wood....)?

as if you do need a drill bit for metal i will need to get one... :/ (feel like such a noob for asking it)

  • @MegaJ0sh 1/8" size. the rivets are made out of aluminium, thats why the drill gets through.

try drilling until the cap is smoothened out. then take a pen or something and squeeze/pop the rivet out

  • most useful!...thanks!

  • Screws work, but the drill is better

Use screws if you have time

    Drill is for impaitent people

  • @irulethe70s How can i use screws??? please help i dont have drill to take them out ??

  • @1jumper11 You screw them into the rivots, take longer, so the drill is better

  • @irulethe70s I TRY it but just dont get in ...

  • @1jumper11 Try it again, but this time when you do it, do it like a man. (not trying to be mean, it will work)

  • @1jumper11 Thats what she said.

  • THX for the video i never realy payed much Attention on that im repaint soon so that gun look cool to

  • Very useful, I was wondering how to remove them!

  • what "length" of rivet on the average?

  • what is the name of that tool he uses to mark the hole for his drill? (you press it in and it makes the notch for your drill to go in)

  • @Tempy1012 centre punch.

  • @Tempy1012 I think that's simply a punch.

  • @Tempy1012 centerpunch

  • Thanks for rapid and good description... ;)

  • I don't get it, how does it secure the other side?

  • @iTehTunePawd The other side is squished when the center piece pulls on it, at the same time the nozzle of the tool pushes against the front side. If you look closely you can see before and after shots of the other side.

  • Thmx

  • hahaha, i've bought a rivet gun for about 4.50€ and additional rivets for the price of 2€:p

  • Extremely helpful. Before, I had a choice between using welding (secure joint) and screws (removable joint), but now I will choose rivets (both secure and removable).

  • Awesome video. This will definitely help me when I get my case powder coated.

  • Thanks for the info. Im getting my Raidmax Smilodon in two days and was thinking about painting the inside this will make it much easier.

  • Cool. I have a similar swivel type rivet tool.

  • Nice guide, I'm sure this will come in handy for some of those who are intimidated by pop rivets.

The only thing I think you forgot to mention was the grip range, as rivets come in many different grip ranges.

Normally one would use a grip range of 1/16"- 1/8" for most cases. However if the metals are thicker than adjust your rivet grip range size.

    Cheers

    LazyMan :-)

  • yeah, I've always hated those things.

Guess I'm a little less intimidated by em now thanks to this video :D

  • very helpful, thank you

    Especially pre-built PC cases.

  • Great video Bill. A must have for modder.

  • Seems such a waste with the metal rod being disposed of. Great vid

  • You guys should try using solid rivets for modifying cases and other stuff. Look better if done correctly.

  • Man, guides like these are priceless. Thank you so much.

  • Very useful. I'm soon to give my PC a new paint job and would prefer to take it apart completely before I did.

  • so basuically what this is

    is nicer looking screws?

  • No, their rivets. To remove a rivet you need to drill it out. Rivets are stronger than screws too.
