  • No way. I exclusively breasfed, used cloth diapers, and made 90% of the food with what the family ate. You can get clothes for free as gifts and from friends who have older kids, and you definitely don't need the whole nursery furniture set.

  • I have 3 children and 1 on the way and I haven't spent nearly as much as this. You can use washable nappies/diapers. Used cot, stroller, high chair etc. Breast feed and make your own baby food by pureeing what you eat. You don't need to make it so expensive but some people do by having designer baby clothes etc. Most of my childrens first clothes were gifts. We just bought a couple of onesies and vests. They wash and dry quickly so they only need a few outfits in each size.

  • This is very helpful info I have one child and it's very EXPENSIVE. I did not expect to spend so much money on one person I have never spent half of what I am spending on my child on myself, but it's well worth it!! :)
