slayer hell awaits...was groove metal before this band even released any music and what's funny exhorders song structures are the same as slayers in both of their early shit..exhorder ripped off slayer.

Groove metal was a pretty natural progression from Thrash Metal, Overkill also did some Groove like songs in the late 80s "Drunken Wisdom" and "Playing With Spiders/Skullkrusher" (On a side note Exhorder's vocals weren't at all like Phil's on the Demos....only on their Debut album on...)

@Spydrfish yeah but listen to their vocals 89, early 90. eg. live in new orleans bootleg, they have the vocal style that would be on the lp's, and skullkrusher would be more doom, but overkill had groove records with the sound of black and w.f.o, good albums

@mongoloidfred Yeah... that one song I mentioned was more doom, But the first of Drunken wisdom is still an example of proto-groove like the start of Desecrator. And Yeah, looking at that I can hear it there, but by 89 Pantera had most of the songs from CFH done and Phil sounded as he did then, so it's a bit too close.... but yeah I'm sorry for even mentioning the comparisons, it's only the vocals, and I think it's coincidence.
