you're right the narrator doesnt know what he's talking about. ive caught a puffer fish in my cast net before at the river and when i picked it up after it inflated it was not heavy - you could feel that it was full of air - hence it floating.

Aw cmon, it's a simple explanation.

If the fish's density is say 0.99, it floats. If it takes in water, all it will do is bring that closer to 1, but asymptotes at 1 and never actually reaches it as water is NOT denser than water :P

If this thing was filled with water it would not be floating on top of the water..anyone with common sense would know that.

Also if it had swallowed water, it would not float upright as seen here, it would be too heavy for the otter to bounce it around as it does. I have seen many of these in videos and when they gulp water they stay down in the water..not floating on top with so much buoyancy.
