  • Cheers for this video I have replicated your set up and its great

  • @THIXE01 Glad you like it, hope yours works well for you :-)

  • this is really cool XD it would be fun :D not full time use tho:L

  • @marinesallday its write....

  • @darkmetalwing lol, you burned his ass....Far out bro...

  • @marinesallday then learn to read!! and whats wrong with fuckin a cunt?? you a poof or something!!??

  • @marinesallday no. no its not you sad little boy.

  • If people got smart, they'd put these on any of their guns and use it (if gun hits don't count) and an item to look into the room before entering. I need to try this. Just use the screen to look around the corner, awesome!

  • do you know that u can earn money with ur vid? this is not spam but it would sound like that... u just gotta add ur vid to the addsence or i dont know what shit and ull get money if ur video is really visited, (which actually is)

  • It looks like an intervention with a heartbeat sensor attachment

  • where did u get that scope

  • @garcia2773 Hi its a cheap Chinesse Tasco I got off ebay!

  • what kind of scope is that and where did u get it?

  • Hi great idea I want to attach my Night Vision monocular in the same way can you advise where I can buy a simular rubber tube attachment as shown in your videos?

    thanks K

  • whats that reticle called ? Tanks for this it will come in handy.

  • googlee it

  • On a powder-rifle or springer having a camera not designed for this purpose will destroy the camera lens and possible the CCD..

The optic must be designed for rifle recoil and as when purchasing a scope for a springer. Must be able to handle the double recoil.

  • What about recoil? Doesn't that have some impact on the lens, or do those fittings eliminate that? I'm working on attaching a camcorder to a rifle stock, with the focus through the scope....about 3.5 to 4" away.

I tried mounting a camcorder to the left side of an AR15, but the combination of noise and recoil just about crashed the hard drive on the camera.

  • Hi mine doesnt have any recoil, its a precharged air rifle but thats ineresting to know what happens when they get to much shock, I wondered if it would damage the hard drive!

  • @tnoutdoors9

Check out the 2010 Tachyon XC or 2011 Tachyon XC HD guncams. They are between $100 and $200 (depending on if you get the HD or not) with the gun mount. The HD is water proof to 100 feet, no need for special housings. It's perfect for this application.

  • informative video but was wondering is that particular camcorder good for taking videos through a rifle scope

  • wut the fudge do i do?

  • same scope as call of duty 4 =]

  • OMG shutup about some stupid video game please!!!!!!

COD is for people who are lazy, fat and the thing i hate about these people is they think they everything just by playing some videogame.

heck, even a cheap airsoft pistol will be much better and skilful than playing a game you have NO experiance of anything

COD is NOT realistic does NOT improve any skills.

  • Although you are right, it is point and click..in newer games there are dimensions of skill required. Now i have a .22 890fps(chrono'd) pellet gun that i can hit 4x6 targets with @ 150yrds (seated w/rest or prone)

Battlefield n COD require lead due to flight time calculations and server lag.

    Bout all they teach you.

Now DeerHunter...that's a good Sim. REAL Exterior ballistics calculations and scope zero adjustments. With downloads for very realistic and functioning mil-dot recticles.

  • Listen to yourself. You flip out just because someone says it's the same scope in a video game....so what. Like playing a plastic pellet game makes you some high and mighty expert.

  • its still reality isnt it? im not a airsofter, this video isnt airsoft, but it still connects.

that comment was not bad, yes a flipped a little, but i saw a comment once "hey im a good sniper in COD so im pretty good at real sniping"

to all you COD lovers out therewho thinks its realistic, well its not. it just isnt nowhere near

  • there are so many factors in real life (including airsoft even) that games dont have. many think because its easy in the game theyre good in real. WRONG

theres wind, zero point in crosshairs, stress/stamina/health, position etc.

all you have to do in a game is point the cross on the someones head, and your done.

if your not one of these people who takes COD seriously, thank god. if you are, please dont be...

im not pointing this out on you personally, but the whole COD "community"

  • Over time does the weight of the camera affect the scope?

  • No it has no effect on the scope.

  • I have vivitar camera that has no flip uot screen. The lens is square and only about a half an inch wide. It has night vision and I can get an illuminator. Can I do what you did with my camera. Thanks

  • it should work if it has night vision yes, if you switch to night vision and use a tv remote pointed at the camera and you can see the light from the remote it will work, it is the same light as the IR illuminator. good luck :)

  • @cubleycat Hello again sorry to be a thick pain but did you use the hot glue to stick the two rings together or to stick to large ring to the scope? please.

    Thanks Paul.

  • How far can you see with this? i.e. is it any good for hunting deer at night? i.e. up to 200m? Very well set out. Want to try this in New Zealand.

  • Its only good for 30m realy

  • Do you have to remove any lenses from the scope or camcorder to connect the 2 and get good focus? Or do you just connect the 2 filter adaptors together then screw one end to the scope eyepiece and the other to the filter thread on the camcorder?

This is a great idea, i just bought the IR laser you recommended and i have a Sony DCR-IP55E camcorder with super nightshot ready to go. Lookng forward to setting this lot up :o)

  • Mine just fits together as is but I have tried some scopes recently that dont work so well, the best I have found are the cheap ones from china, tasco on ebay, just get a 3-9. I have tried expansive scopes and they dont seem to work so well????

  • I do a lot of ratting on a few farms That I have permission for With My brocock hunter and deben tracer lamp, cant afford NV at the mo. How much did this video setup cost you cubleycat ? And would my tracer be ok if not better wit ir filter?

  • Well you will need a camera with night capabilities like the sony camcorder with night shot, try and find one on sale maybe!

The deben tracer lamp wiht an ir filter wont go very far, about 15yards so for best results you need an IR Laser, the best place for those is ebay. there is one they at the moment for £180 Item number: 280330728266

  • cool. with infrared mode you can shoot at night. right ?

  • It looks pretty cool, but it seems like it would be a lot easier to just lay a picture of some crosshairs over your other video layer in post.

  • Great idea

  • Great Vids! Have been looking at dedicated NV scopes (outside of my affordability) until now! What better, you get to record you activities too! What size scope is that your using?

    Keep it up!

  • It may be worth noting that all the weight of the camera is hanging off it's filter thread. Some Sony's have plastic threaded filter mounts, and wouldn't like this. Strictly for compact cameras with standard batteries I would suggest, and then only with care. I'm using a couple of scope mounts to hold a plate for the camera to sit on, I'll stick it up here when finished.

Tell me Cubleycat, do you use the camera's monitor, or a bigger one?

  • Yes mine has a plastic thread but its only a small camcorder, even so it is surprisingly strong! I use the cameras side screen when using it. My model is a HDD so its quick and easy to transfer the videos to the PC.

I will subscribe to your vids to see how you get on with your mount, good luck ;)

  • Cheers. Yeah cool on the cam thing. Shooting rats is new to me, but we have a developing problem that needs attention. Seeing what you've done here is a great way to save buying a true NV setup.

  • I'll be using a HC5 HDV cam, mounted either to an Ultra .22 or a HW100 .177, probably the Ultra tbh. I've got to suss out the light source, want as bright as poss, plus I'll be using a magnified hood on the camera's screen, I'll message you a link to the hood. I'm an FT/HFT shooter, and want to be sure before firing you see. Anyway, good stuff!

  • Perfect! I was just about to do this, because of so many questions, but now I'll just send them here. Thanks!

  • thanks for the comment bro...love the videos this helps ima put up a new video soon...when i get a new camera....keep it up..

  • very helpfull Vid.

  • nice job

  • Thanks. I get quiet a few questions on how I did it and where to get the bits so I made a more detailed video :)
