He left blink for reasons of family / uncomfortability ( no matter what caused that ) after taking time with his family, he thought blink was never going to be a band again, so the fear of never playing live, set in, and he went with his instinct to do AvA. Blik's lives got serious, the big picture got heavy, they couldnt relate to eachother.

the things i heard on I-Empire are ideas totally different of pop punk... he writes another kind of pop punk, a pop punk more...new, more modern... close to the emo pop punk. instead mark writes the same things since 1992. and i prefer a band like +44, but the present is tom. the present are angels and airwaves, not +44 and not blink182. sadly.
The chemistry did fall apart over the years between Mark, Tom, and Trav. You could just tell. I think it's great to see that their setting their problems in the past aside and moving forward. Can't wait for the new album.

Next, it does not matter if they were one of the "Godfathers", if you actually listen to their music, the majority of it had pop elements about it. Most songs released after 97 were like this, and even earlier hits like "Blitzkrieg Pop" were poppy by most standards. Nice fallacy though.

@Teradactylx thats true. well first of all i would never have a family being a global icon of punk. but when your tom delounge and you have such a wide spread rep for being a juvinalle and having a crazy life you cant just shoot down a completly opposite path. if he wanted to take life more seriously fine i have no problem. but plz dont go start a new band that fucks up the amazing rep u left behind and the legacy.

@Teradactylx The point here is that instead of being a good person and telling Mark and Travis that he needed out of the band for personal reasons or that he didn't want to do it anymore for whatever the reason. He just stopped talking to them all together and acted like some giant dick that was too good for them. You can stop and think all you want, but he just said "Fuck You Guys I'm not gonna even say a word to you, go talk to our manager"

yeah when you grow up, move on, and change your ways you have to grow a pair and man up to it. tell your band and then tell the world youve have a change in heart. if tom would have done that then i would be disappointed not pissed off at him. but if he does it again then thats it

You said it's all dumb, and then you say it's all good? Look at movies, they're labled as comedy, drama, action etc. So why can't music? Sure you shouldn't say "I'm only going to listen to this genre because I label all other music as bad" because if I find a song in a genre I don't usally listen to that is good I can still listen to it. It's just nice to be able to say I like this band and this band, so I generally like this type of music.

i was a big fan of blink way back,and now i'm enjoying so much AVA that i don't care if this new blink is going to work or not,actually i hope it succeds like before but i really fell in love with AVA songs.this band should not end.

the things i heard on I-Empire are ideas totally different of pop punk... he writes another kind of pop punk, a pop punk more...new, more modern... close to the emo pop punk. instead mark writes the same things since 1992. and i prefer a band like +44, but the present is tom. the present are angels and airwaves, not +44 and not blink182. sadly.

The chemistry did fall apart over the years between Mark, Tom, and Trav. You could just tell. I think it's great to see that their setting their problems in the past aside and moving forward. Can't wait for the new album.

For starters, The Ramones were by no mean the sole creator of Punk. Because at the same time of their entrance onto the music scene, The Sex Pistols were doing the same thing over in London. Next, it does not matter if they were one of the "Godfathers", if you actually listen to their music, the majority of it had pop elements about it. Most songs released after 97 were like this, and even earlier hits like "Blitzkrieg Pop" were poppy by most standards. Nice fallacy though.
