This is one of the most underrated movies ever. This movie is just to cool not too like it. The casting, the music, the story. everything comes togheter in this movie. Liv Tyler is underrated as an actress anyway , probably because of her dad being famous and all. Liv Tyler rules she can act.

@brodiekashmir Im inclined to believe your powers of deduction since you seem to be the one who paid the most attention to what the day was in the movie.Although we have to remember that even in the movie Rex Manning Day was technicaly a name for the day Rex was comming to Empire for signings and not really an official day of celebration, unless you're Corey :)

Rex Manning Day is May 6th. Calender in Joe's office says it's May. Gina says that "last night" was "Friday night" so it's a Saturday. The hang up is the casino marquee advertising something for Sunday, 4/23. This does prove that it does take place in '95. This COULD just be someone asleep at the wheel in updating the Marquee. The earliest Saturday in May of '95 was May 6th, so I'm fairly certain that Rex Manning Day is May 6th.

How by the Cranberries, Video Killed the Radio Star by the Buggles, and Snakeface by throwing muses should have been included in the soundtrack. Anyway I absolutely love this film. It never fails to put a smile on my face. I wish I worked there!
