question: is the experience any different (better, worse or same) on PSN than on LIVE? I'm getting a console soon, and the online experience for this game is the determining factor for me.

@MugenHeadNinja This game takes time. I used to me terrible at the game but now I have about a 70 to 40 win/loss in ranked, so I think I can help. You need to find a team that has good synergy and that you like to play with. Online is brutal at times, and I got better learning the basics and advance stuff in training mode and with friends. Also, a fight stick wont make you any better at playing it. trust me, its only a preference thing. I hope i helped the little i can dude.

@streakthehedgehog76 the original MvC3 is referred to as vanilla because its plain and basic (just like vanilla) compared to UMvC3... and its what the "hardcore" fighting game community calls it...
@Hopohoo2 the connection is bad because ur in finland ur playing people in usa and of course its going to be laggy. im in usa and i mainly play other people in usa and it never laggs for me unless someone just has bad connection. i recommend u play only people in ur area otherwise ur going to get lagg

i played last night and i had quite a few laggy matches. one that was exceptionally bad. but in the sub lobby it said it was a green connection. also it's still next to impossible to find someone who is ACTUALLY your rank. i fought alot of people trolling in the player match area that were CERTAINLY not "Rookies, Beginners, or Amateurs".
i still GREATLY appreciate the Spectator Mode but i almost always have to watch the dreaded 'Credit Card Dance" because 90% of the time when you enter a...
Does anyone know if matchmaking is much better like fighting people of your same rank or at least one above, not me being a 9th lord fighting a 5th lord
The Online Mode feels better, but for some reason the input isn't really delay like now. It just feels a bit tight. Like you can't be as mobile as you could on Vanilla maybe it's just me though.
I'm a Rushdown player, but I found myself being overly defensive in most of my online games even when I was making attempts at being offensive.
It might just be all the re balancing.
Online in general though is buckets better than Vanilla. Maybe the tight mobility is just me coping with the change.

@AcceleracerWylde Rank means nothing. It just means they fought a bunch of times in ranked match and won. Even if you suck, you can keep playing ranked over and over again and eventually get to 6th lord.
@h2inuyasha2 Not really. Back in Vanilla when I got 9th Lord, I got a lot of 5th and 6th Lords who 9/10 would kick my ass to the point where I was barely able to move. This then made the game rank me down due to my losses back down to a fighter.

With the Vanilla version being obsolete now, there's no point in continuing to really play when you want to play on a competitive level. And he was also playing a lot of new characters. But let the man play the game the way he enjoys it. After all, he's a lot better than you.

I do hope that the distance isn't a huge issue with the connectivity... Rarely do I find a local player in Alaska. Also, I pray that they have fixed the whole uneven ranking match ups... Even when choosing "same rank" I'd end up with 5th Lords when I barely had just reached 9th. I really really freakin' pray that won't be too awful

Just had to hop by to say I'm thrilled the input dropping has been kept to a minimum this time around. I knew exactly what you were talking about! Every so often, even with a fairly good connection, one of your inputs would simply poof into the aether.
Yes the game is better and ill absolutely want and might get it once i get other games i want the most. But yeah Capcom made a bad move and it was annoying at frist.
@Miles923 Is there an instant rematch option for lobbies created for only 2 players? Sometimes you just want to run sets with your friends...without having to watch two cards fight between fights! If not, is there a workaround you can share? : /
@TheSaintStephen In mvc3 you could make/search a player match with ridiculous settings, like lives in Germany language Korean and tell your friend to use those settings and that way you're in a player match were you can rematch or change chars without waiting. Idk if it works in UMvC3 though...
@TheSaintStephen If its the same as the original you can just make a lobby with a private setting, so only friends/invited people can join, and you can decide the size of the lobby to 2 if you want to so its only you and your friend, but in ultimate you dont watch the cards while waiting you can actually spectate the real match.
@TheSaintStephen there was a workaround in the original, you would search for player match, go to your friends list and then invite your friend. Voila

Just had to hop by to say I'm thrilled the input dropping has been kept to a minimum this time around. I knew exactly what you were talking about! Every so often, even with a fairly good connection, one of your inputs would simply poof into the aether.

@Miles923 Is there an instant rematch option for lobbies created for only 2 players? Sometimes you just want to run sets with your friends...without having to watch two cards fight between fights! If not, is there a workaround you can share? : /

@TheSaintStephen In mvc3 you could make/search a player match with ridiculous settings, like lives in Germany language Korean and tell your friend to use those settings and that way you're in a player match were you can rematch or change chars without waiting. Idk if it works in UMvC3 though...

@TheSaintStephen If its the same as the original you can just make a lobby with a private setting, so only friends/invited people can join, and you can decide the size of the lobby to 2 if you want to so its only you and your friend, but in ultimate you dont watch the cards while waiting you can actually spectate the real match.

@stunninroy37 He actually got it from Capcom themselves, they were pleased with his earlier MvC "assist me" and asked him to continue doing this but only with UMvC3, so there you have it.
