I sort of agree with you. However, you can get energy from thin air because our Earth produces radio waves. These radio waves have been proven to contain minuscule quantities of energy. Think of it as a satellite receiver. I understand that you find it hard to believe, but somethings just cannot be explained. Google: Tesla. He was the first inventor to erect energy out of radio waves. That is, until the government found out and they destroyed/prohibited his innovation from going any futher.

harvesting energy from radio waves is common in places where there are huge radio transmitters. but even right next to a radio wave transmitter you can only get as much energy out of hte waves as the transmitter needs to produce the waves. and that's not so much. the waves that the earth produces are much smaller. the waves of the sun however are thousands of times stronger. all energy that all life on earth has comes from the sun.

It is not impossible, it is very true. There was a great inventor called Nikola Tesla, who actually made lots and lots of different ways to generate free energy. He was going to set up such a system that would give us all free energy but he did not get the funding. So this idea of his did not go ahead.
