  • @robixn why is the need for physbox instead of func_breakable? just curious

  • @fabio00099 Because if you use func_breakable the brush would disappear with nothing but a few poor gibs, func_physbox makes the brush literally fall off rather than spewing out bits of rock.

  • Normally when I do this kind of work, sometimes the lines show in the wall and people can see the preset destruction plates. How to avoid this? In your video it looks very crisp and clean cut.

  • Jesus christ, that must've taken hours to compile with all those physboxes... This is NOT recommended for those who want quick compile times or as much as possible FPS experience.

  • @vassatiny Really? Physics is not compiled, it's real-time.

  • @SiPlusTV What I originally meant was the very huge amount of func_physbox entities, which is what it is. It would take incredibly long to compile and eat all your RAM up while you compile

  • To be honest, it looks like all the walls are made of some supertough mozaic plastic....and the glue hasn;t set yet. It just doesn't react as I would suspect a buildingmaterial to react.

  • Is there a way to make the process of getting the physboxes setup any quicker? I made DMM stuff to, but Its so agonizing to get every single little piece setup right. I have tried doing clipping and ungrouping, but they stay tied. Can you help me out on this one maybe?

    I'm currently taking a break in the magical world of SDK, but when I start working on some new stuff again (that would be somewhere in February) I'll add some tutorials on physbox destruction with some new ideas & custom prefabs to use in personal maps.You can't randomize the pieces, it's manual work on every single one with the clipping tool & CTRL+T (that's how I did everything). It takes alot of patience & frustration but the results are satisfying!

    CAN YOU PLEASE PICK BETTER UPLOADERS? I hate the stupid spam ads that try to get you the click them by showing hot women, and the stupid download waits.

    Also rapidshare said I "hit the download limit." Can you use something better? I use mediafire because its better, and it doesn't have a "download limit" or "download time" and the ads are kept to a reasonible limit.

    You are a GREAT mapper though :D

  • This is awesome! I know u used physbox and setted it to "on damage break"(or something like that), but how did you get all the pieces different shapes like that?

    Amost finished with the second map, It's looking similar to the 2nd room in the vid, but more stable & detailed. Should be up in a couple of days!
