This video pisses me off. While you dumb asses are too busy bashing Christianity, Islam is blowing up everyone who disagrees with their religion. a) It does specifically say "fundamentalist christians", not just "christians".
b) It's not a contest, this video is nothing to do with Islam. If you really want to bash Islam, make a video on it yourself.
c) Don't assume the majority of Atheists are "arrogant fucks" based off of the behaviour of one person. Many of us express our views towards religion without trying to act overly-smart. The younger ones at least (I understand that elder people probably are arrogant).
@emokidhea Hell all of them are arrogant. I don't exactly know what a "fundamentalist" is, but I know that I am a Christian because I do believe in Jesus Christ. I never said that this video was about bashing Islam. I'm just simply pointing out that most atheists ignore Islam violence and culture and continuously bash Christianity since 89% of religious people classify as Christian. @emobabe1993 "it is not up to Atheist's to prove the inexistence of God, as we simply don't believe there is any higher being, it's the religious people's job to prove he is there"
It certainly IS your job to prove He doesn't exist! Without God you must come up with some explanation for the existence of matter and life or your theory of the giant mustard fart that bred with the cosmic egg and produced the little speck in the slime that wriggled up on dry land and grew thumbs is what it is: LOL
@salmagnum Sure, I may have dropped the ball with my wording there. But either way, science moves forward everyday.... how close has anyone got to proving God's existence in the last 2000 years (and I'm talking religious God's, obviously. Religious texts are mainly what piss me off about the idea of a higher power).
@salmagnum No. The burden of proof is ALWAYS on the person making the claim; If I say that I can fly, it's not up to you to prove I can't; even if you tried, I could say I just didn't feel like it. Ipso facto, I can fly?
@salmagnum why is it an atheists job to prove god doesn't exist? isn't it threough science we are slowly understanding the world around usand how things were brought about? 'Without God you must come up with some explanation.....' why? if we don't know we don't know. we are working on finding out the truth and not settling on some ridiculous story. everything unexplainable to you must be because of god. that's laziness and ignorance.

I do not know how life began. But, it's not my job. I am a philosopher, not a biologist. But biologists are biologists! So, I defer to their expertise. But, I can look into the evidence, and anyone who does so, will see how science works. There is no scientific conspiracy to obfuscate evidence which supports ID or creationism. Fact. Look it up, you don't have to take my word for it.
i think all you religious worshippers and science worshippers are all the same, arrogant, always eager to prove you are right and everyone else is wrong, too full of yourselves to see all the wrong that came along with you on your self righteous path
@emobabe1993 tread carefully, ones opinion of ones self is influenced and intertwined with ones aspirations and materialistic stimuli of its time, too often is different than reality
@fhattest Nobody worships science, fool. Science is a method, in fact the only reliable method, of learning about the cosmos. That's it. Just because you are a moron who worships something, doesn't mean all people are as moronic as you.
@jymbo1969 science is suppose to be a method but it still hasnt proven evolution and its theory on how everything started but people blindly believe it cause it brings with it fun time filling toys, its caused almost a whole country into believing abortion is acceptable, addicts to medical science and makin us more into fleshbots than human beings with emotions and good feelings, and your just like people that worship gods, they attack with anger at someone who believes different than you, tsk tsk
@fhattest Nope. The difference between being pissed at someone who denies science and one who denies religion is this: science, including evolution are proven facts that affect our very lives. Science has given us everything good in our lives. Religion not only has not been proven, it can't be proven. That's why the invention of faith. You believe that a person who is blind sees as well as a person with 20/20. Redonkulous.
@jymbo1969 a person who is blind sees the world from a perspective that you cant fathom, just different from the majority, and evolution has not been proven, look up exactly how science claims life started, takes a leap of faith to believe that just like religions but science has nice shiny objects to distract people from reality
@fhattest It does not require a leap of faith to understand that abiogenesis has nothing to do with evolution. They are two different fields. However, since everything that exists CAN exist without a creator, it is unreasonable to assume that life requires one to start. DNA is a molecule. And with no evidence, you assert that this specific molecule requires an intelligent agent to exist. Ever heard of the logical fallacy "special pleading?" That's what you're doing.
@jymbo1969 i never assert anything, thats your arrogance assuming ,the bottom line is religious people really dont know how life started and neither do people that believe everything scientists tell them so stop pretending you know,i ask holy people why they believe there has to have been a creator, then i ask followers of science why there isnt and i get the same kind of answer from both
@fhattest The bottom line is that studying one's bible will never give the answer about how life started. Science is the only way to find out what is true. Science is a brutal method. It is necessarily adversarial. Peer review is in place so that scientists can run the same experiment and determine if the conclusion is true. Science is a falsifying method. There is no dogma. There is no sacred theory. Science works, bitches.
@fhattestI have a very tough time not telling you just how much and why it is that you say these things. Because, #1Evolution has never ever been a theorized to explain the creation of life. It is the explaination of the origin of species. In other words, the diversity of life. Secondly, we get angry when we here those like you saying the same things over and over as if you weren't told this a zillion times. And then, you say there isnt enough evidence because you aren't willing to look it up!
@splicedenergy the catholic priests i had to grow up with always got angry with me even they TOLD me a zillion times god is real but i wouldnt believe them, and how can yu talk about the diversity of life without goin back to science worshipers theory on how it all started which is the same leap of faith one takes to believe in a god.theres more evidence out there to disprove evolution but obvious you dont want to look that up,your just happy with what you have been told, which is fine
@fhattest No it is not only because I have been told to do so. I have done extensive research and you have not. Creationists are forever coming up with strawmen arguments and making stuff up that seems like it makes sense but only to a laymen. I am not a laymen, but you are and you believe them just like you believe what they told you about god. On your other point, it is called abiogenesis. Not evolution. You are confusing them and taking what scientists say out of context because ya dont know
@splicedenergy as i just stated i dont believe any of their theories, and i bring up abiogenesis cause how can you not if ur discussing life and its evolution cause you have to start at the beginning,to me beieving some all powerfull loving but vengeful fella is as absurd as thinkin some creature kept flapping his arms and makin his kids do it till they grew wings, how does dna mapping prove evolution?
@fhattest All of these so called evidences you claim that disproves evolution in fact, do not disprove it at all. Dna sequencing is the only evidence that we need, and we have it. It won't be disproved because we've mapped the genetic codes. Before those mappings, I was skeptical but now we know and it is a fact. Theres nothing anyone can claim at this point that would dissolve it. The rest of the mounds of evidence is just an added bonus.
@fhattest Nobody worships science. The reason people who are not religious are not religious is because they simply listen to reason and evidence, and we do listen to religious people, when they actually come with arguments instead of some propoganda to support their claims.
@camobeast100 but this evidence are just words from people who you feel are smarter than you, thats it,yes science has created many things but are they beneficial to the race,is tv and all that comes with it really good for us,is medical science really benefittin us,we got to the top of the food chain without it,it seems all the materialistic benefits that science brings is to distract or fix an problem that it itself created,it talked almost a whole country into thinkin abortion is ok
@fhattest you have an odd idea of evidence, your description certainly wouldn't count as evidence for me. If you think that human beings are the top of the food chain you should go to a zoo and jump in with the lions or tigers, if i were a betting man i would put money on the big cat being the one with the full stomach not you (unless you take a gun, but doing that would just prove you wrong). Have you ever had smallpox? It's not a problem created being medicine but it defiantly helped solve it.
@fhattest That doesn't change the fact that naturally humans are lower down the the food chain than most big cats, sharks, wolves etc. How do you think we got animals from the wild into cages in the first place, we used the products of science (tranquilizer darts, guns, trucks, steel cages etc) so the fact that the animal is even in the cage is a product of the use of tolls created by science. Naturally we are not the top of the food chain because we wouldn't be able to stop something eating us.
I think you have confused "Fundamentalist" with "Young Earth Creationist". Not all Fundamentalists believe that the Earth is young nor that natural selection doesn't occur. Also few Fundamentalists congregations "speak in tongues". That is a belief primarily associated with the Pentecostals, who amy or may not also be Fundamentalists. The vast majority of Fundamentalists are not Pentecostal.
Maybe just a "few" where you live but where I live almost everyone who claims to be a christian, regular church goer or not, believes the earth is 6k-15k years old and there is also a lot of charismatic "speak in tongues" Christians. Sure we should be careful over generalizing but there are a ton of "fundys" who believe that way. If you consider yourself a fundy but don't believe in young earth then you probably are not a fundy. It's just a top ten, not "you have reflect every statement."
Probably a majority of Fundamentalist would assume a young earth, but nothing like all. And you would get more "I don't know", "it doesn't matter" & "why should I care" than you would think, rather than assertions of any particular age. A large sgment has the "speak where the Bible speaks and be silent where te Bible is silent" almost like a mantra, and thus would refuse to speculate.
Most of the Pentecostals really aren't considered mainstream Fundamentalists. It just isn't the Fundamentalist "style" which is mostly conservative and not at all so demonstrative. Pentecostals are almost always very theatrical, not exactly how staid, conservative, Fundamentalists act.
Yeah but you have to admit that besides the theatrics they are very similar in general beliefs to fundamental Christians. Really I guess my point was to show the damage that "fundys" can have on a community because here even the people who would normally say "I don't know or I don't care" have been told the creationist argument and thus repeat it.
I don't agree. I haven't seen Pentecostals have the same kind of single mindedness about the Bible that most Fundamentalists have. They are more into spiritual gifts and emphasize spiritual experiences and similar areas that Fundamentalist won't go to. They tend to be much more politically liberal than Fundamentalists and tend to live all over the country, while Fundamentalism is by far centered in Texas and the Old South plus the border states like Tennesse/Kentucky.
Your opinion doesn't constitute truth. I know a lot of Charismatics, Pentecostals and otherwise, and besides the gifts bullshit and speaking in tongues crap they seem to beat the same sort of drums. I mean, like I said in my first post.. we have to be careful of over generalizations and that is exactly what has happened. It's both just observational opinions and really doesn't mean shit.
That's my point. You just can't mix unrelated names as if they are the same thing and then "well you are all alike". The words mean two different things, and are very different groups of people. I dislike having British people call me a "Yankee" when I am a Southerner. It is just impolite and makes the labeller look uninformed.
@Matur1n I once went to church with my husband's grandparents (A Pentecostal church) and we had to sit apart from them because his grandmother was embarrassed about the way we looked (really christian, huh?)..then when they started the speaking in tongues thing...I had to get out of there...it was super creepy and weird...
Pentecostal churches creep me out too. But then maybe a 1/2 of 1 percent of the Christians in the world are Pentecostal. Pentecostals aren't usually considered fundamentalists. They are another category called charismatic. A typical Fundamentalist thinks charismatics don't follow the Bible.
As for sitting apart, there are lots of hypocrites in the world. Jesus reserved his harshest language for hypocrites. Most churches I see are very friendly and welcoming.

@camobeast100 but this evidence are just words from people who you feel are smarter than you, thats it,yes science has created many things but are they beneficial to the race,is tv and all that comes with it really good for us,is medical science really benefittin us,we got to the top of the food chain without it,it seems all the materialistic benefits that science brings is to distract or fix an problem that it itself created,it talked almost a whole country into thinkin abortion is ok
fhattest 1 year ago
@fhattest you have an odd idea of evidence, your description certainly wouldn't count as evidence for me. If you think that human beings are the top of the food chain you should go to a zoo and jump in with the lions or tigers, if i were a betting man i would put money on the big cat being the one with the full stomach not you (unless you take a gun, but doing that would just prove you wrong). Have you ever had smallpox? It's not a problem created being medicine but it defiantly helped solve it.
prunt23 1 year ago
@prunt23 odd how you question whos on top of the food chain by refering to an animal humans put in a cage for viewing pleasure?!?!?!?
fhattest 1 year ago
@fhattest That doesn't change the fact that naturally humans are lower down the the food chain than most big cats, sharks, wolves etc. How do you think we got animals from the wild into cages in the first place, we used the products of science (tranquilizer darts, guns, trucks, steel cages etc) so the fact that the animal is even in the cage is a product of the use of tolls created by science. Naturally we are not the top of the food chain because we wouldn't be able to stop something eating us.

The term Fundamentalist christian is the belief in certain "fundamental" aspects of christianity regardless of which denomination you are. they are
1. the inerrancy of the bible - sola scriptura
2. the virgin birth
3.substitutianry attonement - Christ dieing for sins
4.Christ's Resurection
5.the Imminent return of Christ.
so under the REAL fundamentalist definition alot of denominations would be "fundamentalist".
socialdisease77 2 years ago
The worst thing about fundamentalism is hating whats different. Jesus came to teach us Love, not hate.

Matur1n 3 years ago
Maybe just a "few" where you live but where I live almost everyone who claims to be a christian, regular church goer or not, believes the earth is 6k-15k years old and there is also a lot of charismatic "speak in tongues" Christians. Sure we should be careful over generalizing but there are a ton of "fundys" who believe that way. If you consider yourself a fundy but don't believe in young earth then you probably are not a fundy. It's just a top ten, not "you have reflect every statement."
Inqoinf 3 years ago
Probably a majority of Fundamentalist would assume a young earth, but nothing like all. And you would get more "I don't know", "it doesn't matter" & "why should I care" than you would think, rather than assertions of any particular age. A large sgment has the "speak where the Bible speaks and be silent where te Bible is silent" almost like a mantra, and thus would refuse to speculate.
Matur1n 3 years ago
Most of the Pentecostals really aren't considered mainstream Fundamentalists. It just isn't the Fundamentalist "style" which is mostly conservative and not at all so demonstrative. Pentecostals are almost always very theatrical, not exactly how staid, conservative, Fundamentalists act.
Matur1n 3 years ago
Yeah but you have to admit that besides the theatrics they are very similar in general beliefs to fundamental Christians. Really I guess my point was to show the damage that "fundys" can have on a community because here even the people who would normally say "I don't know or I don't care" have been told the creationist argument and thus repeat it.
Inqoinf 3 years ago
I don't agree. I haven't seen Pentecostals have the same kind of single mindedness about the Bible that most Fundamentalists have. They are more into spiritual gifts and emphasize spiritual experiences and similar areas that Fundamentalist won't go to. They tend to be much more politically liberal than Fundamentalists and tend to live all over the country, while Fundamentalism is by far centered in Texas and the Old South plus the border states like Tennesse/Kentucky.
Matur1n 3 years ago
Your opinion doesn't constitute truth. I know a lot of Charismatics, Pentecostals and otherwise, and besides the gifts bullshit and speaking in tongues crap they seem to beat the same sort of drums. I mean, like I said in my first post.. we have to be careful of over generalizations and that is exactly what has happened. It's both just observational opinions and really doesn't mean shit.
Inqoinf 3 years ago
"we have to be careful of over generalizations"
That's my point. You just can't mix unrelated names as if they are the same thing and then "well you are all alike". The words mean two different things, and are very different groups of people. I dislike having British people call me a "Yankee" when I am a Southerner. It is just impolite and makes the labeller look uninformed.
Matur1n 3 years ago
@Matur1n I once went to church with my husband's grandparents (A Pentecostal church) and we had to sit apart from them because his grandmother was embarrassed about the way we looked (really christian, huh?)..then when they started the speaking in tongues thing...I had to get out of there...it was super creepy and weird...
samala5793 1 year ago
Pentecostal churches creep me out too. But then maybe a 1/2 of 1 percent of the Christians in the world are Pentecostal. Pentecostals aren't usually considered fundamentalists. They are another category called charismatic. A typical Fundamentalist thinks charismatics don't follow the Bible.
As for sitting apart, there are lots of hypocrites in the world. Jesus reserved his harshest language for hypocrites. Most churches I see are very friendly and welcoming.
Matur1n 1 year ago
I agree completely here!
