I''ve always loved this song and the band The funny thing is I didn't know where Charlie Wilson solo artist came from. It all make sense now.. I'm a firm believer that Jamie foxx is his love child...lol
@SupernalOne of course we still have it my friend, and im not talking in a "back in the day" way, Im for sure not the only 24 years old dude loving funky, groove, soul music, with the genuine love and passion that sometimes represents.
And nowadays there is a lot of musicians doing this exact same thing, you only have to search for them.
I was searching a Band from the 70's that I saw on Miami Beach. The concert was "Viva", Wet Willie", and "Calhoun". Does anybody know if this is "Calhoun" under a new name? (Newer meaning, newer than like 1975.) Please contact me if you know anything about "Calhoun".
robert wilson is actually one of the most prolific base players and terribly underated but he had some drug issues that I think kept him from rising to the top and doing solo work or more studio sessions cause he is a hella bad ass bass player
such sweet polished funk - I love the way they celebrate love, that was the best of the "disco era" - not songs like "push push in the bush" but outright adoration of men and women for one another, for the act of love and the wonderful dreamy physical intimacy tnat came with it. Have people forgotten how nice it can be? Is it all about smackin' bitches and hoes? Or is that just a passing musical genre? We had it good, good love, back in the day, I hope it still holds in the world
Oh, less cool then - there's that 'war of the sexes" thing, men and women have completely different agendas in romantic affairs, there's no getting around it -
nourdine! you got that right. top this song. write and sing a song that nobody wants to end. the whole room is flushed with a joyful feeling. 5 dollars and a jukebox and you're gonna hear Outstanding.

Yes, the song is sweet, but there is another live version where he says "Smack the cutie on the booty".
