can you update with a higher number but with a different region? for example i have a 4.2U wii and i upgrade it to 4.3J Wii. Can i do that?

I was hacking my friend's Wii, and was safe-updating to 4.1U from 3.2U, which had just been downgraded from 4.2U. This succeeded on my console without any drawbacks (although, I WAS on 4.0U at the time...). It said it succeeded, but when I turned the console off and tried to turn it back on, all I get is a black screen. I suspect this of being an IOS60 brick. I'm not getting anything on the screen, no matter what order I try pressing the buttons or inserting the disc. Any idea why? xP

Sorry i mean savemiifrii is working for me on 4.0e because my wii has a banner brick and i don't have preloader or bootmii only bootmii as ios ..and i'm looking for a solution but i'm stuck now:(

yes me to i see my firmware in the right corner then i place a game in it (Wii Sport Resort) and then the disk is loading ..later my firmware is gone out of the corner and then the blue light is gonna blink ..weird!

Hi! Maybe you could help me, my Wii is on 3.4v I accidentally deleted the HOMEBREW channel now that I'm trying to re-install it using the newest HACKMii installer it won't install. It's saying I don't have a valid IOS blah, blah! How will I re-install my HOMEBREW? Will I brick my system if I will just do a full upgrade (4.1U). Hope to hear from you. Thanks.

Which version of bannerbomb did you use trying to reinstall the HBC? The latest version of bannerbomb is only for system menu 4.2 and v1 (the original version) is for system menus 3.0-4.1.

Today saw this video and connected GC conttroler in port 4. Inserted SSBB original version.

I get 4.2 in the corner and then screen goes blank.

you have to send it to nintendo. SaveMiiFrii works by booting a disk and installing the channel update, so your back to normal. since you have system menu version 4.2, there are no updates. unless you can load backups so you can load a 4.2 updater.

you need a gamecube controller conected on door 4 and press all directions on pad , in this sequence - all connected , red light , not yelow , turn on the wii and press all 4 directions on the gamecube controller pad , less than 2 secs , if you can see 4.2(USA) on screen you are in service menu, if not, try again faster or open your gamecube controller and press manually all rubber directions pad, but, you only boot the game if you have a "AUTOBOOT DRIVEKEY" if not, buy one , it's only way...

no , the DVD5 version don't have the right patch on disc , u need a NTSC DVD9 ... it's not working to me here , i have the genuine SSBB dvd9 ntsc and nothing at now, only black stuck screen after boot the disc from service menu , with or without modchip....

i tried autoboot with dvd9 version of SSBB NTSC-U clean version no patch at all, autoboot feature on drivekey is OFF, its boot with black screen. i have no bootmii and preloader or starpatch installed. no luck still waiting for working info

No, PM me for details. Someone says you just need a GC controller, move it into slot 1 and then you should be good but I haven't had confirmation.

He says you need a drivekey and that will work, but I'm not sure.

Its perfectly safe with preloader or bootmii as a boot2 replacement however. Its almost a perfect brick otherwise if you screw up though.
