  • o ok sorry then i was in a bad mood anyway no neeed for cussing

  • good driving

  • First off, a national study was conducted a while back about siren use, and on average sirens only save about forty five seconds... something to think about. Second, the caller requested a silent approach. Third, this is more than a siren usage video. Put your whacker instincts away for one minute and concentrate on the actual emergency. The thought process of what should be done when you get to the scene... great video, lots of good information to think about.

  • @nwvfd22 thanks for the feedback. These videos are indeed meant for anything but the siren use.

  • squad car at :18?

  • lol, I love how people don't understand code 3 driving and transport of the cardiac pt. When transporting a pt c/o C/P, audbile/ visual warning devices should not be used even though these pt may be RTC. One reason for this, is because the sound of the siren and the sight of the strobes/ beacons can raise the HR/ BP of the C/P pt ultimately increasing their stress levels and increasing the workload of the heart. Increasing the stress level of the C/P pt, is not good patient care.

  • @TRIXSTER03 Good points and thanks so much for your input

  • @emssafe-Hey your welcome, no problem :)

  • Nice video but you need to use the siren more, espically at that red light.

  • Great narration. I'm an EMT in a casino, and we generally get no info or lead time when responding, just "someone's collapsed!". Having that time to get yourself mentally organized and get your game face on must be nice. Do your protocols allow you to administer nitro to someone who doesn't have a confirmed angina diagnosis? We'll assist with their own nitro, but we don't carry/administer our own. I guess, as you say, different protocols for different jurisdictions.

  • @rudeboystu69 Yes, most protocols at the paramedic level do allow for NTG administration based on patient condition, complaints and assessment. I bet in the casino it is hard to get a better picture when responding. R u in Las Vegas? Next time I go to the Expo maybe we could meet.

  • SHUT UP AND USE THE SIREN U TURD MY GOD!!!! MAN

  • @avalanchecop dumbfuck. dont you hear the siren from the responding video. there is an audio voice-over which is him talking...

  • people ive been a paramedic for almost three years now, theres diffrent protocalls everywhere, just stop being rude,in some states you have to use sirens know matter what call, some states, you have to keep the sirens off(use them if someone is not getting out of the way)if you are going to a school

  • Yes, the healthcare system is broken, but the men and women who serve it are fine individuals.

  • ha i kno excatly where this is

  • @Irishb61589 ssshhhhhhh. lol

  • we can get in trouble if we don't run lights and sirens all the way to any emergency call, because if we get into an accident and our lights and sirens are on we aren't at fault...if are sirens are not on we are at fault.

  • You people fight over the stupidest things like, Spelling!!

  • @14KeithCooper Spelling isn't stupid. It's the foundation of written communication. It is paramount. If you don't know how to spell the things that you are talking about, then you are stupid and your opinion means less to me. If you don't care enough to spell words correctly, then I don't care about your opinion.

  • better not use your siren around me or I will get excited!

  • Hmmm, most states if you get into an accident and you are not using your siren constantly you will be found liable and responsible for the accident along with probably being cited. All EMS code 3 responses are lights and sirens until they have reached their destination. Just a safe thought to keep you out of the hands of californian lawyers...

  • @Kheldarren I dont know if you actually watched the video. There is siren use. This was brought up since many people might question why request an ambulance at all if you dont want lights and sirens. The suggestion regarding students was made to bring to light possible reasons for this. Thanks for the comment.

  • @Kheldarren It is protocol in my county not to use lights and siren when arriving at a school. We do this to keep kids focused on studies. We don't use sirens at night except when approaching a known busy intersection. Can't use lights or sirens in neighborhoods.... A lot of counties have rules like this either by request or because of previous law suits.

  • Hmmm Ulster County, NY aye?, Seen Saugerties on the sign.

  • idc when I pull out the door sirens go on and shut off when i get their, if i crash and dont have sirens on...I'm at fault.

  • Stop being i dj and use the sirens where it is needed like in the narrow streets with thoughts on the pedestrians...

  • @jatilsau you said that already. I think you mean - "stop being "A" dj..." not "i" dj. Thnks for the post - Stay safe

  • @emssafe hey man great video,i hate the people that are saying always use the lights apparently they have dif. protocall, hope those posters dont bother you anymore, hope you stay safe.

  • @ParamedicRescue0246 Hey, thanks for the feedback. I am not bothered. I encourage everyones point of view. EMS is so fractured and we need to stop. Just a little thing like this you can see how many differences of opinion there are. I invite people to come to the live EMS radio show and comment or join in there as well.

  • @jatilsau He's using the siren appropriately, and you're obviously and idiot. If you have lights on, there's no need to have the sirens on for the ENTIRE trip. They don't make you go any faster. He turns the sirens on at intersections, etc. so that oncoming traffic is made aware of his approach.

  • I like the vid the comments are good

  • code 3 is different fore different places. if youve noticed fdny does the siren on siren off. i dont think its right to critisize these medics by saying it was an unsafe response bc from what i saw it was a very safe response, they used the siren when needed if there was no one around they didnt use it and if they knew they were coming up somewhere they used. I really liked this video especially with the talking in the background. good job

  • @rsizemore12 FDNY has a noise ordinance in place so that is why for the siren usage on and off.

  • The siren on or off not Either stop being i DJ an use the focus on the road

  • This is the most irritating video. Siren on or off. The back and forth siren use is a liability. You will be held accountable if someone pulls out because they didn't hear you. If someone request a silent approach they are a frequent flyer....

  • It doesn't matter what they want....paramedic safety is always first.

  • Every response protocol I've read would require code 3 irregardless of patient request for chest pain. Where is this?

  • good video where i work as a firefighter/emt our county standard operating procedue states that if we recieve a medical or fire response and even if requested non code it is mandatory we respond code on all fire or medical call i think its a good idea because granted if you have an emergency and you request non code response it makes some question the nature of the emergency so as county police we alwas respond code liability thing

  • Really nice and informative video!
