Raleigh looks like a dump, but mainly because it's close to Dook, and the Dookies sometimes go there and leave their carpetbaggin' stench all over the place.

If you really think Raleigh has more degrees per capita, you have to subtract all of the Dook degrees. The magic ink and rice paper the degrees are printed on will disappear in a couple of years.

Compare Raleigh to Dayton, OH, Chattanooga,TN, Louisville,KY, or Durham, NC, not Charlotte. Charlotte it in the league with Atlanta, Nashville, Miami, and Dallas

Ive lived in both of these cities and I like them both. Raleigh is much more manageable than Charlotte and the people are more educated. Now I live in metro DC, which trumps them both.

They say that Charlotte has a lot of money because of the banking industry. Well, so does Raleigh. Raleigh has money from the pharmaceutical and research industries.

They mention the tall buildings in downtown Charlotte. Raleigh is the center of state government. When was the last time you heard of a government building a 50-story skyscraper?

They left out a few facts in this news cast. The Charlotte city limits cover more area than Raleighs. More area, more people. Raleighs population is more concentrated than Charlottes. If Raleigh had the same area as Charlotte their populations would be much more similar. Raleigh has a higher percentage of college graduates and a higher percentage of people with post graduate degrees (3rd in US.)

I live in charlotte but I kind of think raleigh has got it going on. but as far as skyline goes, charlotte has them beat, but for how long because raleigh if you havent been there in a while has a new skyline going up. they are really really growning.

Charlotte definitely is boring. There's no music, art, culture, etc. The only museum is a NASCAR museum. They don't have any interesting shopping/restaurant/bar districts like Georgetown in DC or Federal Hill in Baltimore. The city lacks any personality or style. It's a banking city, and it has just about as much personality as a bank.
