I have a Lionel GP38. A little disappointed in the material used. Plastic trucks pilots and fuel tank. Its max pull on 0-36 curves is only about 23 cars. But its horn sounds great!
On this test track, there is an engineered rise of 3/4 inch in 17 feet, because of an elevation change between the two ends of the cabinet that holds the yard. I figured out the grade at one point during construction, but it took actual math...some fraction of 1 percent.
Yes, I have two :) Before Lionel reintroduced the triple-deck autorack, I was buying duplicates since I wanted a longer train, and it didn't seem (at the time) that Lionel was going to make any more.

How steep grades do you have on your layout?

Cool! L&N Geeps! Did Lionel make them?

Yes, they were part of a boxed set. I knew a dealer who was able to get them from others who had split up sets to sell the components seperatley.
