The reason she is singing a country song is that it was country week. This is so clearly not her natural style but she did ok and has a great voice. So yeah black girl singing country is a bit odd (mainly due to racism in country music and its origins) but give her props for a great voice.

Carrie Underwood performed this song WAY better than Lil' Rounds. She just DOES NOT have the "big voice" that everyone is always talking about.
