@LgFaver I was finished commenting. But since you brought this up, I 'll conclude. He couldn't improv outside of the pocket, struggled mightily with NYG, couldn't hold a football, and couldn't win outside of a system.
I believe that Warner will be a first ballot hall of famer because of the 99 season and his league Mvps and superbowl Mvp! He was so acurrate with his passes that it was beautiful to watch! I miss that kind of offense!
Even as a pats fan, I think he deserves to be up there with Brady and Peyton Manning. Kurt Warner was always underrated. 3 best super bowl performances of all time, end of story.
@sa3oody001 Wrong. American football is played in America, Canada, Mexico, all throughout Europe, and especially in Japan (they actually love football more than Canada)
So it's most likely that the best team in America is the best team in the world, right? Especially considering that we sent a bunch of Division II and III players to represent us in the last American Football World Cup, and still won the whole thing against other countries best players...
@sandythebear Roethlisberger* - if you're going to rant about the guy, spell his name right. Don't blame him either, blame the refs....just another uninformed person getting mad at the wrong person.
@hailhopes Warren Moon never won a super bowl, and he was basically a run and shoot QB, which unfortunately they dont get a lot for respect in the league.
I don't think Kurt Warner deserves to be on here as one of the top 100 greatest players ever. Don't get me wrong, kurt was really good but I just think he is one of the really good quarterbacks in the pass heavy era of the NFL. When you look at the legends who were left off like Lem Barney, Charlie Taylor, Kenny Houston. Its hard to put Kurt higher when he was a good quarterback on two good offenses. I think he is really great with great numbers but not top 100
@hillsoftemple I disagree. Two NFL MVP's. Would've been a two time Super Bowl MVP. Give me greatness in a shorter span than very good for an elongated career. It's Hall of FAME...how many people know who Lem Barney is? I do...but I'm a sports historian. Warner deserves his place. He's about four plays from being a 4x Super Bowl quarterback and led two of the most downtrodden teams to them (90's Rams...and the Cardinals [pick an era]).
@manncandy1 Amen, man, amen! Want to know why Warner is HoF? Look at what's happened since he left ARI (to be fair, Boldin leaving also hurt). @frost122585 No. You can lead 2 crappy teams to a superbowl, but you can't only play 5 good years and then 5 crappy years in the NFL and be considered great. You have to be consistent too. Also he was a system quarterback, when he was with the Giants, their system didn't work for him, the Cardinals system didn't fit him either as his first 2 years there were bad. @glealblood you're an idiot. Both Favre and Montana were at the tail end of their careers when they played for different teams. Yes Joe Montana was a system qb, but Favre...HELL NO! A system qb doesn't finish their career as the all time leader in interceptions. Just because they don't succeed right away when they join another team doesn't make them a system qb. Also Favre admitted to playing the 08 season with an injury in his throwing hand.
Whats your point , that they were at the tail end of there careers ? favre is a west coast qb , everyone knows that , just because favre was known for being a gunslinger doesn't separate that . He made stupid throws , because he trusted his arm , But thats not why he holds the int record , he holds that because he played long after he should have .
@glealblood Joe Montana was constantly getting injured in San Francisco, which is why he was traded to KC in the first place. As for Favre, he is NOT a system qb. He spent 17 years in Green Bay, when he played for the jets he played well for the first half of the season, the following year in Minnesota, was arguably the best season of his career. If he was a system qb he wouldn't have been able what he did in Minnesota. I think you're confusing a "system" with having good talent on your team.
@CallMeKoga really? what system did they run in greenbay? what system did they run in ny , And what system did they run in minnesota? I'll give you a hint 2 of them are the same
@glealblood what? did they have the same offensive coordinator in greenbay and minnesota? Why you trippin bro? You know I'm right, just admit it to keep from looking like an ass.
@CallMeKoga thats not a system you fuck tard ,A system is a type not who coaches , a west coast ran by the vikings is the same west coast ran by the packers , Just a few changes , When a qb calls the plays its the same system , the jets dont run a west coast . Just because you think every coaches playbook is different because you don't know shit about football doesnt make me a ass , it makes you stupid . Just like the clay matthews could play the same with pitt or the nyj
@glealblood oh I'm scared now, cause u called me a fuck tard. Relax dog, Brett Favre is one of the greatest qb's of all time. If you can't see that, then you're as blind as Ray Charles, no matter what type of offense was around him. Every qb is a system quarter back to some extent. Just because I'm right, doesn't mean that you should call me a fuck tard hahaha
I never said he wasnt a great QB , he is . doesnt make him any less of a system qb then. So most players are system players it doesnt make them bad. I was makeing a point to the other guy that alot of greats are system qbs , so why was he hating on kurt , Really there are very few qbs who are not system qbs , The only great that sticks out who isnt is peyton manning .
Its the same base , a 3/4 . a 4/3 is completely different , Just like a spread O is completely diff from a west coast , Favre is a west coast qb , it doesnt matter whos the fucking coach you dumbass
I called you a fucktard because you didnt seem to understand that the vikings with favre ran the same O as the packers with favre ran . brad childress actually made it almost identical to that O because he wanted favre to be comfortable.
good talent on his team? beside adrian peterson who the fuck plays for the vikings? Rice wasnt good until farvre showed up , and he is a no show in Seattle , shancoe is a average te at best , Harvin is an ok slot reciever , berrian is pathetic , So whos fucking talented ?
@glealblood hahaha relax man. Cussing in an argument only makes you look stupid. I get what you were saying now, he's a great qb, but if a different type of offense was around him, he wouldn't be so successful. I gotcha man. All you have to do is explain, the reason why I an argument goes down is cause someone doesn't understand what the other guy is saying. Calling me a dumbass or a fuck tard doesn't make you look smart lol and I'm just wondering what makes peyton not a system qb?
I got ya . Well i said that wrong , Peyton is still a system qb , just unlike all other qbs in the fact that he runs his own system . Not like he could go to west coast or anything , just the fact that hes the only qb in history that pretty much created his own system . Even though moore did have a impact in it.
Kurt Warner ran the greatest offense ever assembled, him being no.90 is a joke!Had he been healthy his whole career,we would be talking about Kurt Warner as one of if not the greatest quarterbacks in nfl history. He is the greatest Superbowl quarterback in nfl history and his record will never be broken. You might say,oh he had great weapons around him,but couldnt you say the same thing about any superbowl winning quarterback?Name any great quarterback and look at who was around him.
@milesgrandpa2009 great point.i got so sick of hearing media types saying tom brady has no good receivers.troy brown had over 100 catches in 01 and several clutch plays as kr/punt returner.david patten scored 4 touchdowns in 1 game.in the snowbowl vs my beloved raiders, jermaine wiggins the te had 10 catches in that game.even those crappy buc receivers made plays when it counted,ok keyshawn johnson was good butmy point is as a qb,you're only as good as your receivers and warner had 4 good ones
@milesgrandpa2009 Warner was over protected like most QBs of 2000's ERA.Warner would never make it in 1980's just like Pussy Brady would never make it.
@milesgrandpa2009 tom bardy won the bowl with a bunch of misfits and castoffs as his recievers........................... no good running backs either
@milesgrandpa2009 greatest superbowl qb is joe montana 83/122 com/att-68.0 pct-1,142yds-11tds 0ints 4-0 no one comes close to JOE. these numbers are hard to respond to friend, bring actual stats not your opinion like I just did.
If this guy does not get in the HOF, they need new voters. He's been to 3 Superbowls, and took 2 terrible teams to the Superbowl, and even though he went 1-2 in them, he kept his team in the games, his defense failed to make plays in the final minutes of the 2nd and 3rd one. And he's got the top 3 spots for most passing yards in SuperBowl history, no doubt he's a Hall Of Famer
@JGunsliner16 Rams were horrible in the first year he played for the rams? THATS BULLSHIT! yes he was 1/4 of the offense but there was Tory holt,Isiac bruce, and MARSHAL FAULK who was half there offense and tory and isiac were combinef for 1/4. and he had fitz as a wide reciever who was 1/2 the cards offense. So even though Kurt is one of the greatest QB's with a supposed "shitty teams" He Had weapons that are and will become hall of famers so its not all Kurt and o ya he also had aquan boldin.
@tksarmy15 I think your argument compares to the Phil Jackson debate that he's coached 3 of the all time greats, yeah he had all those weapons but he took advantage of the weapons he had, look where Arizona is a year after he left, and yeah St. Louis had Marc Bulger but he never did nearly as much as Kurt Warner not to mention his brilliant stats in Super Bowls, 83/132, 1155 yards and 6 touchdowns.
Here's what nobody mentions but everyone knows.... Warner took TWO shit teams (Rams were HORRIBLE before Warner and the Cards were... well, the Cards) to the Super Bowl in his first year with the team. Who says you gotta be flashy to win???
@JGunslinger16 Kurt didn't take the cards to the Super Bowl his first year with them. Not even close. It was his 4th year with the team.
What's really cool is that his first year with the team he had the best season a Cards QB ever had.
Also, you act like Warner carried his teams. Bruce & Holt and HoF HB Marshall Faulk... then All-Pro players "Leaping" Larry Fitz and Boldin. Common man, he had some serious weapons. Don't deny it. [by the way, none of this is a knock on the guy, he was great!]
Where were these franchises prior to Kurt Warner playing? The Rams went 4-12 the season prior, and the Cardinals were a joke....what happened when Kurt Warner took over? Both franchises went to Super Bowls...and one went on to win it, while the other two SB games came down to the last possession.
He passed for more than 350 yards in all three SB's he played in and where is Peyton Manning on the list? Tom Brady? Eli Manning? Dan Marino? Their numbers are nowhere NEAR touching them!
@FrizzKid05 I like Kurt. I think he is a HoF QB. I also hated watching my 49ers have to lose to him for many years. However, in all of what you said, you fail to acknowledge that both of those franchises also got a lot better across the board, and not just at QB. It doesn't hurt when your #1 & #2 receivers are All-Pro Super Stars [Bruce/Holt or Fitz/Boldin] or when you have a HoF HB [Faulk], or at least an All-Pro HB [Edge], not to mention both the Rams & Cards improved their defenses a lot too!
The Cardinals weren't any better. Kurt Warner made them better. They HAD Anquan Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald. They sucked before he showed up and Kurt Warner made them better. He MADE those teams what they were by his leadership. It's as simple as that.
@FrizzKid05 Would the Cards have gone to the Superbowl with out Kurt? Hell no!
Would he Cards have gotten to the Superbowl with Kurt Warner but no Pro-Bowl Receivers to throw too? Nope.
Again, we didn't even talk about all the talent the Cards drafted/matured in the 4 years Warner was there as well. Darnell Dockett, Karlos Danseby, DRC, Adrian Wilson are all [still] top 10 or even top 5 at each of their positions.
Problem: How many points did that defense give up in the Super Bowl? Yeaaaah: they didn't pay off after Kurt Warner threw the go-ahead touchdown in the 4th quarter, did they? What were they ranked during the season? Kurt Warner led the offense with poise despite his defense giving up too many points.
@FrizzKid05 That is such a terrible excuse. The cards also committed over 120 yards worth of penalties. Do you think that was the norm for them as well?
That defense didn't pay off the next year in OT against the Packers did they? You can't use one game as an example.
You are sounding more and more like how Peyton Manning fans sound. If I'm not suck Warner's dick, then that must mean I think he sucks. No. It means that I think he is really good, but don't give him all the credit like you are.
Actually, you're trying to take the credit for how the Cardinals AND Rams did out of Kurt Warner's hands, when both franchises became mediocre to bad after he left. Peyton Manning IS in a similar situation, minus the fact that their defense did what their defense was designed to do...create turnovers. Tom Brady is the greatest quarterback still playing, but Kurt Warner was the IN-guy when he was playing. Nobody else can do what he did, because of his leadership and timing.
@FrizzKid05 Let me simplify this: Elway carried the broncos for years pretty much all by himself, all the way to the Super Bowl... twice! It wasn't until he had a team around him that he was able to win it all though. Warner made his teams better. MUCH better. He didn't put them on his back and carry them to greatness.
He should've had 3 rings. He brought his last 2 teams in the SuperBowl back from behind only to see it lost by the Defense. His problem was, scored to fast and a break down in defense. HOF 1st ballot.
@Ramfanman1 I don't see how he's on this list. 4 good seasons out of 10? 32 turnovers in 2001, defense kept him in the season. He constantly fumbled, he had interceptions in the worst times. He only had great recievers, he couldn't do anything with average or above average recievers like with the Giants. He lost his job with the Rams in 2002 because he lost 6 straight games because his defense wasn't as good to fix his turnovers anymore. Couldn't win the Giants, bearly won with the Cards.
@RandyMoss2 Isaac was at his prime with Warner. Before Warner has his 3 starting seasons, Bruce had some good seasons when he wasn't injured, same with after Warner Left. Boldin and Fitz never had any decent quarterbacks. Holt had 7 pro bowls, thats 4 without Warner. Bulger got that team to the playoffs. The Rams didn't start to suck until Faulk started having injuries and left. He's a great quarterback, not a top 100 player, maybe top 250.
@RandyMoss2 Very Good Point. When Warner left Both The Rams and The Cards, they never went back to the Superbowl. Plus most people that never followed Warner ignore the fact that when a throwing hand is injured enough to the point of constant swelling, its hard to throw the ball , let alone hang on to it. Warner reached milestones and records faster than many QBs plus 2 visits to the Superbowl and one Ring. Definitely a HOF'er. considering he was bagging groceries =)
@lionslicer9999 and he did do ok with the Giants. in 04 when Eli was the being groomed, he went 6-4 as the starter of the horrible team. eli went 0-6 to end the season.
Kurt Warner has been to three super bowls has a ring. He came out of working out of a grocery store... And no one wouldve thought he would be good. Ur guy like u said was the huisman winner and was a big disappointment
Not to rain on Warner's parade, and he was an exceptional QB, but I don't see how he makes this list over Jim Plunkett. Jim was a Heisman winner who got drafter by New England and pretty much thrown to the wolves for years. He then went to SF... which was like going from the frying pan into the fire. He was relegated to back up status, until an injury made him a starter once again... and he leads his team to a SB. Fast forward 3 years, and he does it again.
Plunkett never won an MVP. Warner won 2. Plunkett never made a pro-bowl. Warner made 4. Plunkett threw more INTs than TD. A lot more. Warner was far more reliable. In 13 career playoff games, Warner ranks first all-time in completion percentage (66.5%), yards per attempt (8.55), and second in passer rating (102.8) in NFL post-season history
You're seriously taking Plunkett over Warner. That's insane.
One of the greatest QB ever. in the short amount of time he played for he accomplished so much. I could imagine if he played a full career of 20 or so years

Just like the clay matthews could play the same with pitt or the nyj
glealblood 3 months ago
@glealblood oh I'm scared now, cause u called me a fuck tard. Relax dog, Brett Favre is one of the greatest qb's of all time. If you can't see that, then you're as blind as Ray Charles, no matter what type of offense was around him. Every qb is a system quarter back to some extent. Just because I'm right, doesn't mean that you should call me a fuck tard hahaha
CallMeKoga 3 months ago
I never said he wasnt a great QB , he is . doesnt make him any less of a system qb then. So most players are system players it doesnt make them bad. I was makeing a point to the other guy that alot of greats are system qbs , so why was he hating on kurt , Really there are very few qbs who are not system qbs , The only great that sticks out who isnt is peyton manning .
glealblood 3 months ago
Its the same base , a 3/4 . a 4/3 is completely different , Just like a spread O is completely diff from a west coast , Favre is a west coast qb , it doesnt matter whos the fucking coach you dumbass
glealblood 3 months ago
I called you a fucktard because you didnt seem to understand that the vikings with favre ran the same O as the packers with favre ran . brad childress actually made it almost identical to that O because he wanted favre to be comfortable.
glealblood 3 months ago
good talent on his team? beside adrian peterson who the fuck plays for the vikings? Rice wasnt good until farvre showed up , and he is a no show in Seattle , shancoe is a average te at best , Harvin is an ok slot reciever , berrian is pathetic , So whos fucking talented ?
glealblood 3 months ago
@glealblood hahaha relax man. Cussing in an argument only makes you look stupid. I get what you were saying now, he's a great qb, but if a different type of offense was around him, he wouldn't be so successful. I gotcha man. All you have to do is explain, the reason why I an argument goes down is cause someone doesn't understand what the other guy is saying. Calling me a dumbass or a fuck tard doesn't make you look smart lol and I'm just wondering what makes peyton not a system qb?
CallMeKoga 3 months ago

And he's got the top 3 spots for most passing yards in SuperBowl history, no doubt he's a Hall Of Famer
mytimton 7 months ago
Fun fact: Kurt Warner only started all 16 games in a season 3 times: 1999, 2001 and 2008. He went to the Super Bowl those 3 seasons.

So even though Kurt is one of the greatest QB's with a supposed "shitty teams" He Had weapons that are and will become hall of famers so its not all Kurt and o ya he also had aquan boldin.
tksarmy15 7 months ago
@tksarmy15 I think your argument compares to the Phil Jackson debate that he's coached 3 of the all time greats, yeah he had all those weapons but he took advantage of the weapons he had, look where Arizona is a year after he left, and yeah St. Louis had Marc Bulger but he never did nearly as much as Kurt Warner not to mention his brilliant stats in Super Bowls, 83/132, 1155 yards and 6 touchdowns.
MFFL2008 7 months ago
Here's what nobody mentions but everyone knows.... Warner took TWO shit teams (Rams were HORRIBLE before Warner and the Cards were... well, the Cards) to the Super Bowl in his first year with the team. Who says you gotta be flashy to win???
JGunslinger16 8 months ago 2
@JGunslinger16 rams werent horrible but the rams drafted torry holt and accquired faulk warner is a great qb tho im not taking anything away for him
panthernaruto 7 months ago
@JGunslinger16 Kurt didn't take the cards to the Super Bowl his first year with them. Not even close. It was his 4th year with the team.
What's really cool is that his first year with the team he had the best season a Cards QB ever had.
Also, you act like Warner carried his teams. Bruce & Holt and HoF HB Marshall Faulk... then All-Pro players "Leaping" Larry Fitz and Boldin. Common man, he had some serious weapons. Don't deny it. [by the way, none of this is a knock on the guy, he was great!]
Pgaither84 7 months ago
@Pgaither84
FrizzKid05 5 months ago
@FrizzKid05 I like Kurt. I think he is a HoF QB. I also hated watching my 49ers have to lose to him for many years. However, in all of what you said, you fail to acknowledge that both of those franchises also got a lot better across the board, and not just at QB. It doesn't hurt when your #1 & #2 receivers are All-Pro Super Stars [Bruce/Holt or Fitz/Boldin] or when you have a HoF HB [Faulk], or at least an All-Pro HB [Edge], not to mention both the Rams & Cards improved their defenses a lot too!
Pgaither84 5 months ago
@Pgaither84
The Cardinals weren't any better. Kurt Warner made them better. They HAD Anquan Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald. They sucked before he showed up and Kurt Warner made them better. He MADE those teams what they were by his leadership. It's as simple as that.
FrizzKid05 5 months ago
@FrizzKid05 Would the Cards have gone to the Superbowl with out Kurt? Hell no!
Would he Cards have gotten to the Superbowl with Kurt Warner but no Pro-Bowl Receivers to throw too? Nope.
Again, we didn't even talk about all the talent the Cards drafted/matured in the 4 years Warner was there as well. Darnell Dockett, Karlos Danseby, DRC, Adrian Wilson are all [still] top 10 or even top 5 at each of their positions.
Pgaither84 5 months ago
@Pgaither84
FrizzKid05 5 months ago
@FrizzKid05 That is such a terrible excuse. The cards also committed over 120 yards worth of penalties. Do you think that was the norm for them as well?
That defense didn't pay off the next year in OT against the Packers did they? You can't use one game as an example.
You are sounding more and more like how Peyton Manning fans sound. If I'm not suck Warner's dick, then that must mean I think he sucks. No. It means that I think he is really good, but don't give him all the credit like you are.
Pgaither84 5 months ago
@Pgaither84
FrizzKid05 5 months ago
@FrizzKid05 Let me simplify this: Elway carried the broncos for years pretty much all by himself, all the way to the Super Bowl... twice! It wasn't until he had a team around him that he was able to win it all though. Warner made his teams better. MUCH better. He didn't put them on his back and carry them to greatness.

@Ramfanman1 well because great players are great all the way through their career and as much as I like Kurt Warner, he did struggle with the GIants.
Donkeykong21425 1 year ago
@Ramfanman1 I don't see how he's on this list. 4 good seasons out of 10? 32 turnovers in 2001, defense kept him in the season. He constantly fumbled, he had interceptions in the worst times. He only had great recievers, he couldn't do anything with average or above average recievers like with the Giants. He lost his job with the Rams in 2002 because he lost 6 straight games because his defense wasn't as good to fix his turnovers anymore. Couldn't win the Giants, bearly won with the Cards.
lionslicer9999 1 year ago
@lionslicer9999 if you noticed, ALL of the WR's had mediocre seasons after Warner. Holt, Hakim, Bruce, Boldin, and Fitzgerald all stats dropped
RandyMoss2 1 year ago
@RandyMoss2 Isaac was at his prime with Warner. Before Warner has his 3 starting seasons, Bruce had some good seasons when he wasn't injured, same with after Warner Left. Boldin and Fitz never had any decent quarterbacks. Holt had 7 pro bowls, thats 4 without Warner. Bulger got that team to the playoffs. The Rams didn't start to suck until Faulk started having injuries and left. He's a great quarterback, not a top 100 player, maybe top 250.
lionslicer9999 1 year ago
@RandyMoss2 Very Good Point. When Warner left Both The Rams and The Cards, they never went back to the Superbowl. Plus most people that never followed Warner ignore the fact that when a throwing hand is injured enough to the point of constant swelling, its hard to throw the ball , let alone hang on to it. Warner reached milestones and records faster than many QBs plus 2 visits to the Superbowl and one Ring. Definitely a HOF'er. considering he was bagging groceries =)

Kurt Warner has been to three super bowls has a ring. He came out of working out of a grocery store... And no one wouldve thought he would be good. Ur guy like u said was the huisman winner and was a big disappointment
Ramfanman1 1 year ago
Not to rain on Warner's parade, and he was an exceptional QB, but I don't see how he makes this list over Jim Plunkett. Jim was a Heisman winner who got drafter by New England and pretty much thrown to the wolves for years. He then went to SF... which was like going from the frying pan into the fire. He was relegated to back up status, until an injury made him a starter once again... and he leads his team to a SB. Fast forward 3 years, and he does it again.
But no mention of Jim Plunkett? ;[
tjstevens74 1 year ago
@tjstevens74
Because he wasn't great.
He's more of a disappointment, his stats aren't great and while he did have a good career, it's not good enough.
The Hall of Fame voters even made a right call on this one.
iamhungey12345 1 year ago
@tjstevens74 Plunkett is def a HOF'er but not even close to making this list. You have to have a good career throughout, not just 2 seasons
RandyMoss2 1 year ago
Plunkett never won an MVP. Warner won 2. Plunkett never made a pro-bowl. Warner made 4. Plunkett threw more INTs than TD. A lot more. Warner was far more reliable. In 13 career playoff games, Warner ranks first all-time in completion percentage (66.5%), yards per attempt (8.55), and second in passer rating (102.8) in NFL post-season history
You're seriously taking Plunkett over Warner. That's insane.
HeadlessEye 1 year ago
@HeadlessEye
There are people who actually thinks Plunkett should be in the HOF. It's amazing how people think of things.
Oh yeah, you also left out the fact that Warner's a two time first team All-Pro as well.
How many Plunkett have? None!
iamhungey12345 11 months ago
