I noticed Ma Lin learned that if he returned it to his forehand side to the point here Xu Xin had to stretch, then Lin returned it tight to Xin's backhand, it was almost guaranteed a point. This won him alot of points.
ma lin was caught corruption so he could get a spot in Olympic Games. I don't like him anymore. Besides, he face tell you what kind of a person he really is. nasty.
Ma Lin had Xu Xin completely outplayed, completely calculated and completely tricked. I really thought this would be quite a contest, especially when the two of them are penholders and playing the same style of tricky game. but this victory of Ma Lin clearly sends a message: "wanna out-smart me? you have a long way to go, kid."
@wlisjsu they may not be serious in German Open, English Open, French, Italy, Kuwait or Singapore Opens, but they must be going in all cylinder for China Open. Not way in hell they would not want to win in China.
I'm so happy with Ma Lin's performance! After beating Chen Qi, and Xu Xin, I'm now more confident that Ma Lin can compete at the top level, after seeing rather bad performances during the CTTSL
@lumm71 yes, indeed, they are of the same style. I am not talking about they are both penholders, but they are playing similar type of game. mind game, speedy changing of pace, placement, spin which require opposition to adapt your play. Ma Lin is still standing on top of the world in his game.

Ma Lin shows Xu Xin he is still a penhold maestro, and Xu Xin, a “grasshopper.” Ma Lin’s dexterity is second to none in the TT history! ☆☆☆☆☆

@tyoungos Second to who?

@Preppyloser1
Second to none. Can you read English?

@tyoungos Ah, nm just forgot what the phrase "Second to None" meant.

Xu didn't play seriously 'cause he usually doesn't use that much backhand.

It seems that Ma Lin is comfortable with Xu Xin's style. Xu Xin could not counter Ma Lin's FH topspin.

Is Xu Xin the new Ma Lin? He plays similar style, doesnt he?
