Its not just speed, its also redundant back ups.

Even if 2 fail, it can still perform its duties of rescuing people, chasing smugglers, rushing ppl to hospital, etc.

And the torque comes in VERY handy for towing larger vessels to safety.

Its CLEARLY not a show-off boat, so why the idiot comments?

(And no, its not my video, but I have worked with similar boats, so I know why they are like that.)

Top speed 63-64 knots. Amazing accelaration. If you use only 2 engines it does about 44 knots and is a bit slougish when accelarating. The 2 extra engines gives 20 more knots. Excellent to drive as the Smartcraft synchronizes all the engines very nicely.

Thats using only 2 with the weight of the other 2 hanging on the transom. Without that extra 1100 pounds it might go 55 knots or so with 2 motors and then you are talking about a difference of 8-9knots that cost 30k. Then the question is if its worth it.

I imagine with the heavy load of people the 4 motors creates more torque though.

4x300 outboards is a waste. The motors are too heavy, it would be faster with only two merc 300's, or even 2.5's. Probably takes all day to plane out in that piece of crap too. Way to dump 50 g's into making your boat slower you idiot.
