  • The fake cap. The chromed binding around it is very over done.

  • Hi Cubby, I wonder if you can help me. Do you know if all Chanel fragrances are engraved or embossed on the bottome of the bottle? I bought a 3.4 oz bottle of Chanel No. 5 EDP that had a sticker on the bottom, and I think it's fake. I thought real Chanels all had engraving rather than stickers, but I'm not absolutely positive.

    ~Carolyn

p.s. I enjoy watching your videos; you do a great job!

  • Good evening, I just bought a real Chanel ALLURE HOMME SPORT, everything is perfect and it corresponds to your real bottle, except the serial number (black) is not carved, but just printed in black,I have to worry ?

    (excuse my English)

  • @orman128 what's the code?

  • @ScarvesForUnited the code is 4701

    hpics*li/194cab7

    hpics*li/fdfadb8

    change the " * " by a " . " (point)

  • he is gay :-)

  • This is matter for big concern, fake aftershaves and perfume could be making their way into famous shops such as Harrods in London and Oxford street, and its good that you can show something like this to make people aware. Thanks

  • lmao what a fruit cake

  • Would you consider Macy's or Dillard's as a reputable distributer???

  • @andymofoincross Of course.

  • @andymofoincross You can't be serious!!!!!! Of Course dumbass!!!

  • Whats the price difference in the fake & authentic ??? Is there a considerable difference in smell or its lasting ability ???

  • Is Strawberrynet really legit? I googled and some people received fake stuff. Snet even cut the serial no. out or put a sticker on top of it. Kinda dodgy...

  • @cformosa4 man , i feel in the box allure .. and SPORT.. homme dont are surface straight.. is fake?

  • I BOUGHT MINE AT MACY'S AND IT HAS A PRINTED SERIAL NUMBER ON IT, SO YOU ARE MISTAKEN THAT DOESN'T MEAN ITS FAKE, MINE IS REAL AS CAN BE. i EVEN CHECKED ALL MACYS OTHER BOTTLES AND THEY ALL HAD PRINTED NUMBERS SO GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT BEFORE YOU TELL PEOPLE ITS FAKE

  • I just received one from eBay and it's fucking FAKE

  • good vid chubby

  • Mines REAL :D thank uu :3

  • ALERT!!! fucking fragrancenet did sell me a fake Diesel Only the Brave. When I got it, I opened the box, and fucking box about blew up, it was sooooo cheap! The top of atomizer did not have the logo. The serial code did not match. And it smelled like pure base notes, no top, no middle. Like an idiot I threw away the box. I emailed fragrancenet, I told them I had a fake. They said sent it back. Because I didn't include the cheap box, they did not refund my money. Assholes wanted the fake box. wow

  • Best fragrance ever with Le Male of Jean Paul Gaultier <3 It's so chic !!!

  • oops, actually the sprayer is flush, but the serial number is still printed on. I'm sure it's not a fake, because the serial numbers match, and like I said, I got it from Dillards, an actual department store.

  • Okay, I got mine from Dillards, and the atomizer is sunken in, and not flush, and the serial number is printed on.

  • irecently bought a fake of armani code for women on eBay. I was soo pissed because the scent didn't smell as strong and was almost like rubbing alcohol and didn't last at all on my skin.I compared it to the one in the dept. store and you could clearly see the difference in the bottle and how much "shittier" the bottle is compared to the real and the label Armani code was slightly larger font and looked glued on. I got my money back because I reported it to eBay. Stupid bitches

  • 3 people got selling fakes smh

  • Good to know. I understand a lot of fakes are coming out of Dubai. Did your fake come wrapped in cellophane?

  • @cyclexy yeah it came in cellophane. It's too bad! sooo many fakes are coming out.

  • @cyclexy yeah..........the authorities and customs are working on the problem........actually the perfumes were imported from russia to dubai via a Russian organisation called Soyuzexpertiza, whose web site describes it as ‘the largest and oldest independent inspection company which is doing business in the field of the tests, inspection and certification of services and goods.

  • @ak122version Interesting. Good to know. thanks.

  • @cyclexy

  • every time some one talks about the flows of knockoffs goods, the china-man goes back to the lab and makes

it better.and all the products that are sold in the US are made in china. and the companies that make that shit

jive it to the chicness to sale, TAX FREE MONEY, OFF THE BOOKS MONEY. but acts as if the chicness are coping there products without the consent of the companies bull shit . i hope that china bankrupts the US.

  • @MR210035 - Your point is absolutely legit, I mean good. Unfortunately, we (the ignorant customers) are the ones having to use that shit made in China.

  • would fragrancenet sell fakes? i got mine from there and the only reason im thinkin it might be a fake is because the serial number in the lower back is in black...any feedback on this? thnx.

  • @Eddcano09 I have been buying from fragrancenet for about 6 years now and have never come across a fake.. I would be worried if the back number isn't etched in; double check to make sure its not printed on maybe.

The fakes look so real, that (rarely) they can be pushed into the normal distribution chains that fragrancenet uses.

However, from what I know, fragrancenet and many other fragrance sites with the same wholesaler stopped selling chanel's due to fakes being injected into the market.

  • @cformosa4 ahh ok i just checked and the black numbers seem to be engraved onto the bottle, and also i put it up agains the light and i couldnt see through it at all plus the spray is a matte black instead of glossy..

  • @Eddcano09 PERFECT :) Glad to hear you have a real bottle.

  • @Eddcano09 Don't worry, mine is in black too, and I bought it from chanel.com

  • @Eddcano09 Gonna repeat the same as what @Eddcano said. I been buying from FrangranceNet for around 2 years now and they are always legit, I compared many of the same colognes that I bought from Macy's to the same from FragranceNet and they are absolutely Identical bottles, smell, etc. They are the only online cologne source I trust and go through.

  • @EtherMagic - That's bullshit. You can't say that "they are always legit", if it's not for some kind of propaganda. Your experience with them is unique. I personally cannot approve your claim for the simple reason that 4 months ago, they sold me a counterfeited Azzaro Silver Black. I've been buying from them for over 7 years.

  • @Eddcano09 - I've bought colognes from them for over 7 years. But 4 months ago, I they sold me a counterfeited Azzaro Silver Black that smelled like crap, different to the nice scent of a genuine Azzaro Silver Black. My advice to you about them or any other online store is to try the product immediately after reception to make sure that it's genuine. If it's fake, make arrangements to return it to the merchant ASAP for a refund or a replacement.

  • @Jpkrao remember also that perfumes and colognes do fo bad in result of heat

  • the one i just got in the mail says "made in USA" on the bottom.... but it is a tester.. are the testers made in usa and the ones for sell made in france? also my atomizer is black, not white? is this just a difference for the tester?

  • You totally just made me run upstairs to check my bottch. She's legit

  • Can you put a little more on, I can't smell you.

  • hey i love your videos :) i am new to this fragrance thing. i really want to invest in one. can you please recommend me one that i will use for a long time, smells great not too strong and get complements?

  • great video, thanks

  • Cubby help! I think I've been sold a fake Boss Bottled! I can barely smell it myself and my mate says the smell goes away after like 1 hour!

  • Nice as usual! :)

  • Thanks Cubby! I've never come across a fake chanel before, because I've never really seen them online (discounted) before. I figure if you are going to pay the same price, why not just go to the dept. store. Also, I have noticed A LOT of Creed counterfeits and some of them are getting really good at it. If you could do a series like this, that would be cool. ...and can you do a couple of Creeds? : D

  • lol this is kind of a dumb question - but where do you 'find' FAKE cologne? I generally buy my cologne from... like The Bay or Sears or Shoppers Drug Mart. What's the likelihood of buying fakes there? Also, I've been wearing CKONE for like...EVARRR. I'm looking for a spicy/masculine everyday scent? Any recommendations (Also, I know I could just as easily search through your vids but... recommend something plz lol). Love what you do man!

  • please be my boyfriend already..... )

  • Thanks Cubby! Always the best videos.

  • Nice video!!!

  • wow this is ridiculous man.. the fakes are wayyy too close to the real.. No way anyone is really going to notice this without comparing it meticulously to a real bottle. And I would assume not everyone has an extra bottle to compare it to.. This will fool 98 percent of people most likely. Honestly.. with fakes this close, I am not sure I even want to buy on ebay anymore.

  • Great video Chris. Thanks for sharing the comparisons. Once I received my first fake from ebay (Lacoste Red), I quit buying bottles from dealers on there. I'll still buy the occasional samples. I've still bought from individuals selling their used bottles and had no problems with that.

  • Thanks for the video

I will help alto of ppl

  • The thing with fakes are, there are no set rules because fakes always 'evolve'. Unfortunately you have to be a frequent shopper (or at least have access to lots of genuine stuff) over a considerable period of time to develop a good sense of judgment to distinguish between genuine articles and fakes. Of course, I am thankful for this video because people who want to be able to acquire fake-spotting ability should start to learn somewhere and this video is an excellent start indeed, thank you!

  • @eriquerique i completely agree with you! Thanks so much! Hopefully this helps out people may have come into contact with a fake from this supplier (they produce A LOT of fakes). :)

  • Good vid Cubby. I got stuck with fakes from Ebay before, they said made in France. I bought 2 new bottles from Sephora and they said Made in USA and it is the good stuff. I am sure they are the real deal, but actually there are differences like you describe that might usually indicate a phony bottle. The atomizer is all black, and the serial number on the back is at the top and not etched in. So, for some reason Chanel doesn't keep their bottles consistent with the labeling.

  • Awesome video cubby.

  • Good one, Cubby! Try this....with the real AHS, in a darkened room, hold a flash light against the bottle, you should be able to see through (doesn't work for me if I'm in a well lit room). That's how I can tell how much juice I have left (works for AHS, AHEB, and Kouros).

The fake one's probably more transparent than real. So don't freak out if you can actually see through while holding a light source against the bottle! :)

    Thanks for the video!

  • Cubby, I have a lot of imperfections on my Allure Sport bottle, but I do not think its fake. The box for mine is exactly how you described the real box. The serial code on my bottle is etched in there, the atomizer is flush on the sprayer and is a matte black color, not shiny...and it sprays like a beast. Anyone else with a legit bottle have imperfections on theirs?

  • how about just getting it from fragrancenet and ull be good

  • so you actually bought a fake for the sake of this comparison

  • Great job, and I'm glad it's on such a popular fragrance. Really nice comparisons :-)

  • great vid, i;m gonna check my bottle asap ! ahahahah !

  • i would also add that when buying in the store make sure to get the EdT, there is an EdC that smells like crap

  • Top stuff Cubby!!

Wow that fake you have is a good replica,

    Thanks for doing this buddy.

  • do they make fake burberry londons, and could you consider doing a highschool fragrance top 10

  • Buy it from a legit store and you will be safe. I got mine from Sephora.

  • i have been looking for a comparison vid like this for a while now, thanks cubby!

  • I always get mine from duty free. People who try to be cheap may get burned, either fake or a 3 year old fragrance that has sat in sunlight.

  • what's the difference in the smell?

  • thank you, sir, for this video! always helpful to know how to spot a fake!

  • Thank God mines real!

  • Great video, i didn't even know people faked chanel AHS. Only thing is that on the real AHS you can also shine a light thru it. Grab a flashlight or small led light, go into a dark room and you can shine a light thru it. That's how i know how much juice is left in the bottle as well as polo double black and usher UR to name a few.

  • @mannyb332211 i've never had a real one where you could see the light through it, even with a flashlight. I've checked with my 100ml and my previous 50mL that i just ran out of. but who knows, maybe chanel used to have one that were a bit see through

  • @cformosa4 I bought my AHS 3.4oz at macys a couple months ago so i doubt macys sells fakes lol. But yea you have to be in an actual dark room with a bright LED and have it touching/pointing at the bottle. When i do that my bottle lights up and you can not actually see thru it but you can see the sprayer tube, silhouette of the juice in the bottle and the code that is carved in the bottle lights up. Who knows maybe the newer bottles you can see whats in them when shinning a bright light into it.

  • cubby give us an insight on how much did the fake bottle cost you if it was on ebay? at china town in nyc they sell alot of knockoffs for $20-$30

  • @eckobimbo it was just under $50 on eBay. lol

  • Lol, sorry but I loved how u tried to show that the fake bottle was seethrough just with the screen light from ur cellphone XD

    Great video! :-) <3

  • @LovelyLittleLullaby hahah! I know. Im such a tard sometimes. :P

  • Thanks for the video. Are there any genuine retail released versions that actually include an exterior sleeve like the fake you presented?

Also note that the missing underneath code isnt always guarantee but an indicator. I say that as I purchased a Chanel Allure Homme from Sephoras that was missing the code on the box.

I personally would avoid Ebay for Chanels like the plague. better to be safe and purchase these from a legit retailer as the price is not going to be much different anyway

  • @bachatuuu yeah, that code is def not a major indicator. just a point to mention. :) But yea, when it comes to chanel (especially chanel), i always buy from legit retailers.

  • Awesome video, just awesome! I love these real x fake comparisons!

  • Great idea to do this video ... thank you a lot!

  • I started getting a little paranoid thinking that i might get myself a "fake" fragrance. I also have a lot added to my collection. I never really wanna order stuff like that online, and i agree with buying them from an actual store. :) I wonder, where the hell do they have the time to make the fakes!? Seriously? lol Thanks

  • @PlayWithFireSixty9 Ohhhhh boy... with the money involved in the fragrance industry (billions of dollars each year) there is most certainly time for criminals to try to make fakes to sell as real fragrances. If they are successful they can make A KILLING selling what amounts to piss water in a fancy bottle. The sad thing is they do succeed judging by how sophisticated the fragrance faking industry has become. Especially new people never know the difference even if it smells not so good.

  • @martinaee EXACTLY! :D

  • @PlayWithFireSixty9 i know! haha but making fake colognes i a huge business for a lot of people and has become a major industry in many countries (mostly asia). So they spend a lot of time on them and then leak them into the market.

  • Are they selling the counterfeit at authorized retailers? I got some at Macy's and I'm sure it's real.
