Those are skid marks for sure; his car isn't wet in the slightest. He comes into the picture fully hitting his breaks. The high light is hitting the camera, forcing a downgrade in picture quality disallowing any true thing to be seen.

@iheartanci No, those are not skid marks. You can see at 5:29 they are gone, only a few water marks from the silver SUV remain. Skid marks don't evaporate after sitting for 5 minutes. Plus, the video is not accelerated and I guarantee you that NO car would take that long to stop from such a low speed, let alone a BMW.

The situation is simple, driver's vision left was blocked by the building at first. But when it was clear he was looking right. By the time he looked back left it was too late.

Look closely just before the crash, there is a silver car going from left to right. My theory is that BMW driver thought he could make it, but after he saw another car on the other side of the track he decided to stop. You can see he is braking hard but it was too late. Check the car just before it stops, front end dives fairly hard just like when you're using full braking force. Anyway, whatever the reason it was, it was just a bad judgment on the driver's part. 2mins of wait>crash

So why do they build gas stations next to busy high speed four lanes where trucks can veer off and have an accident. The percentages are FAR greater that a truck will have an accident that a railcar will derail.
