  • To stop all the confusion: This one is the intro for Season 1, episode 1. After episode one, they added a bit witch explained how "Steele" (Brosnan) stepped in, witch they used for the rest of the season. From season 2 on, they used the one with Laura and Steele in the cinema. I do not know if theye were any changes after that, because I haven't had the fortune of seeing anything after season 2.

  • This was not exactly the version that aired that I remember. Maybe this was season one and another was season two before the one that started with the gunshot and the lipstick stain?

  • Wait, did they have Stephanie record this twice? The one I know she sounds more enthusiastic.

  • @StarwindAmada20 It was remade, I think a few times, and I think twice during the first season, 1982 - 83 (I do believe this was the original version.) I know it was remade as well when Doris Roberts was added to the cast in the 83 - 84 season, and I think it was remade sometime after Moonlighting debuted on ABC as sort of way to compete a bit with that show.

  • "Before he was Bond, he was a man of Steele"

  • Perfectly put Steeleperfect! I couldn't agree more. Stephanie Zimablist is an amazing woman of substance who should be admired and cherished.

  • is this a good series?

  • This intro is different than the one I've seen

  • Am I the only one who preferred the first season a LOT? I liked the dynamic with Murphy and Bernice, and I HATED Mildred Krebs.

  • @ItchythaWookiee No you are not! I loved Murphy and Bernice could not stand Mildred either! I do not know what the writers were thinking! The show was still good, but never as good without them!!!!!

  • Stolen gun and stolen ID. Remmington steele /steal. Keeping victims ignorant of secret aerospace/cyber/virtual/mental/ tron/ computerized homes and then making these people become victims to the stealing of their identities. Any company that sets up "aerospace homes" or forces us down the super information highway and wrecking out thoughts deserves to be up blown sky high!To the future heros, success!

  • @Nueroactive Did you realize you could use the words in your name to spell 'neurotic'?

  • mr steele is so charming

  • It's a nice show, I'ves started watch a week ago and I find it interesting.

  • @somewhatlongdong My dear, demented little mass of seething envy, Stephanie Zimbalist is a warm, generous, talented, committed lady of infinite grace and honour. You are a witless inadequate whose insecurities are showing. I would beg you not to breed and perpetuate your idiocy, but the possibility of your finding a mate amongst humans is small enough that we can discount the risk.

Or, to put it in terms you can understand, bitch is a bad word, poppet, although clearly a big one for you.

  • Que bellos recuerdos y cuan parecida la Zimbalist a una bella novia que tuve.

  • Great memories! Loved this show

  • I remember the intro to Season One being different than this. I recall Laura saying, "He walked in with his mysterious past. I don't even know his real name." One thing I never understood about this show was that if "Mr. Steele" was smart enough to figure out that Remington Steele didn't exist, then why was he always portrayed as a buffoon afterwards? Even if he didn't know anything about being a P.I., he was an expert con man. Seems like he'd fit right in.

  • @Archangel101576 This one was from the very first episode. Subsequent episodes had the aforementioned Remington Steele related parts.

And Steele being just comic relief is one of the reasons I didn't particularly like the first season. I enjoyed subsequent seasons when Steele became much more competent and the writing got stronger.

  • I love this show, specially romantic music. Does anybody know the name of this jazz piece music?

  • @Hopffnung Remington Steele- Laura's Theme

  • Hey! Where's Mildred in the intro? I really liked that old lady!

  • @mishim100 She appeared from the Second Season onwards.

  • Remington Steele, sounds like an electric razor.

  • It's Steele, Remington Steele. LOL

  • On the series dvds Pierce has said this about Stephanie. Here was this beautiful, brown eyed girl who was a real pistol and people that didn't think we got on, but we actually did. We had a great trust in each other and there was one upmanship which was written into the characters. You only have to look at certain episodes and the chemistry is there. In some shows Pierce actually stares at her and the body language in Steele Blue Yonder speaks for it's self.

  • People can take whatever they want from each series and enjoy them for what they were, which was great entertainment. Some episodes were terrible, but for the majority of the time both shows excelled. Cybil and Bruce did not hate each other as they have said and both were single when making Moonlighting which added to the sparks. Pierce and Stephanie got on very well and even though Pierce was married they both managed to create a great chemistry together.

  • memories.....loved this show...used to air on star plus long back :)

  • this was a great show and Stephaine Zimblast always wore those hat and looked awesome. Y i go ga ga over a lady in a hat today but Mister Bond stole the show for me he was so cool without tryin to b . He just was .

  • stephanie z is not a bitch.i work in the industry.dont listen to the media its bull.remington steele was a great show.you may hear rumors about trouble on the set.this is true but steph was not the trouble maker,it was pierce, who created all the trouble.but the producers put up with his drama.i would have replaced him right away.steph was already a accomplished actress when remington steele started.pierce was just starting out .remington steele made him a star not james bond.

  • @slennon35 Zombalist was the cause of the trouble, she was a spoiled little daddy's girl who only got the job because daddy had a detective series way back when. She made such bitchy comments about Pierce which was purely jealousy, Pierce was getting recognition for being the more interesting and more charasmatic one, with the sexy voice and she couldn't take that the publicity didn't focus on her.

  • Stephanie Zimbalist Jr. turned out to be a real bitch.

  • I'd like to see Pierce and Stephanie reunited in a tv movie where they are older and wiser and reunite to solve a mutual mystery from their past. Add Murphy and Bernice and it's perfect. I remember the first time I saw the pilot when I was bedridden recovering from back surgery and was enchanted.

  • @audiesgirl Good luck getting any of those actors together.

  • I Love it

  • I just watched both this and the intro to Hotel. I loved programs like these even though they cut a little into my school studies back circa 1984 when they were on prime time. Nowadays, its garbage like reality shows or comedy programs that constantly portray men as stupid bumbling idiots.

  • They need to remake this series. I think it would be great on USA Network, and i think the person that would be great to Play Remington Steele would be Benedict Cumberbatch. He is so good on Sherlock on the BBC, he can be really serious at times but then be so funny and charming.

  • one of my favuorites from the 80's! awesome.

  • A classy show from the plots to Henry Mancini's music. Much better than the silly Moon Lighting show.

  • @RodneyIsCougerMan I disagree. I loved both but if I had to pick, Moonlighting was better constructed and did a better job of creating sexual tension. Remingtoon Steele and Laura Holt were too touchy-feely, not believable as tension. Of course, Brosnan beats Willis' ass everyday of the week.

  • @MrLunitunz I disagree. I think Remington Steele was much classier and more believable. Remington Steele and Laura Holt used to have long discussions to get to know each other better. With Moonlighting, they didn't do that. It was too comical and not nearly as serious as Remington Steele.

  • @RodneyIsCougerMan Comedy wasn't the aim of the game. Moonlighting, by Pierce Brosnan's admission, was much better. Much better written, and ultimately willing to take risks. Remington Steele was the same show day-in day-out, there was no Hawksian comedy, there were no risks. Sure it became more action-oriented but otherwise the show was always the same.

It doesn't matter whether or not one was more serious than the other.

Also, as an aside, Moonlighting had a much more buyable premise.

  • @MrLunitunz It does matter whether one show was more serious than the other, because seriousness makes for a more compelling show. The basis of the romantic relationship in Remington Steele was communication, and communication is the cornerstone of every good relationship. Remington Steel had much more believable plots, and the mysteries were much more mysterious than on Moonlight... It just was a better show! Classier and more easy-going... On a whole different level.

  • @RodneyIsCougerMan Have you ever watched Moonlighting? The series was grounded in believability, and even if it wasn't, it was just as realistic as Remington Steele, the two shared a writer. The difference, and Pierce Brosnan said this, not me, but I agree, is that Moonlighting was willing to take risks. Plus it had actual sexual tension. Remington and Laura were, for all intents and purposes, a couple.

Plus Moonlighting had a more sensible premise and an actual theme song.

  • @MrLunitunz I agree what u (pierce) said bout Moonlighting Cybill hated Bruce Willis Just like Miss Snot ass Stephaine disliked Pierce because her Daddy was a big star ala Cybill thinkin she was a bigger star then Bruce. ( ha whos laughin now) . So i'm sure that had a lot to do with it but I think they r both great shows. But i Like Moonlighting more bcause of Allyce Beasley (agnes) She was mad funny with those cool rhyme and for some reason i found her attractive.

  • @MrLunitunz - I've watched Moonlighting, and I feel that the relationship between Remington Steel and Laura Holt was much more mature than Moonlighting. Remington Steel was much more believable than Moonlighting, and the plots were clearly better. For example, the time when Remington Steele was missing, and the episode when the man named Charmers caused a conflict about him being Remington's father. These plots are examples of what made Remington much compelling and interesting.

  • @RodneyIsCougerMan Moonlighting actually took time to write. The producers of Remington Steele wrote the same formulaic stuff week-in week-out. Look at the episode Atomic Shakespeare, or that one that was a take on film noir, both examples of how Moonlighting was much cleverer. Plus, there was build up, they didn't express feelings for each other or even kiss until a specific point in the series, whereas Steele and Laura were basically a married couple.

  • @MrLunitunz To emphasize once more, Remington Steele and Laura Holt used to have long talks, which made it more interesting than the silly antics of Addison and Hayes. Remington Steel was more compelling than Moonlighting.

  • @RodneyIsCougerMan Long talks suck. They make for poor storytelling. I do enjoy Remington Steele but I enjoy Moonlighting better because it cuts through that crap. Moonlighting was perfectly compelling and had a 'Will they or won't they' relationship that actually went somewhere after three seasons.

  • HEE HEE HEE.

    80s.

  • Mi primera serie, solo los martes podía dormir a las 9:00 om

  • That was really the intro to that show? I'll stick to Miami Vice, and good ol' Crockett and Tubbs.

  • @MsSilentsiren this is the season 1 intro - it was longer and better from season 2 onwards :D

  • @MsSilentsiren well the intros changed for each season but yeah the show is amazing. miami vice? why? that showis terrible. lol

  • Loved this show...and the original theme song...which plays in the background. A truly sophisticated adventure and comedy series. Henry Mancini wrote the music...he was a genuis. Although I also enjoyed the theme song that he later wrote for this series...this was my favorite.
