He cuts off his swing in a few of the hacks he took in this clip. He's losing some power/drive on the ball because of this issue. Hopefully he can correct this fault and his slugging numbers will improve. Love to see him succeed at the next level.
Iglesias doesn't have the top end speed that Castro has but he is much quicker than he looks and his reaction time is amazing. This allows him to have plus range without great straight line speed. There is a video of him making a great play up on a ground ball up the middle against the Yankees this spring on MLB.com if you want an example.
I've seen candelita (jose Iglesias ) play in person I've practiced with him a couple of times befor he got signed. he's ridiculous defensively and he's hands a very quick and has alot of balance at the plate
Iglesias does whip it through. I think a lot of people discount his bat too much. He's not going to have it knocked out of his hands. But he's also not a model for patience and he's largely a pull hitter.
I agree on the defense. It may be 80. He's unbelievable with the glove.
@projectprospect There is a video of him and Castro fielding and I think Castro is more agile than Iglesias. He does not seem to have the body make up to have good lateral movements. I saw a kid in Miami, the call Peyno, that looked like castro who is real smooth. There are some vids circulating.

Borderline plus-plus bat speed with 80 defense at SS.....scary to think about. Dude's gonna be patrolling the Fenway grounds for the next decade.
