  • Nope, it is a Fokker 28

  • @rudolphza Nope, it's a fokker 708, my dad was who recorded this video :)

  • @NotCopyrightedMusic Trust me, it is a Fokker 28. Used to fly for that airline in and out of baghdad on that aircraft.

  • this is definitfely a FOKKER 28!!!!!!

I think it would be Royal Jordanian Fokker 28 that aircraft is sheduled for flights from Amman to Bagdhad.

  • @ChriZ727200 yes but now Royal jordanian use now embraer for this flight.

  • why always spiral approach

  • the airspace is not safe so to avoid comin in low around the airport they come in high spiral down its harder for the terrorists do get a lock and attempt to shoot them down

  • would a tactical landing not of worked?

  • you mean insurgents. because we don't know they are terrorists.

  • To avoid being hit by missiles (just a precaution though) .

  • to avoid the missiles!

  • Sounds like an old DC10

  • @Axlegun nope, its a fokker 100

  • And why do you post that here? Did you read the title?

    landing at Baghdad International

    This message is called SPAM.

    And you are called SPAMER.

  • haha. You misspelled *spammer. . . Try going to pre-school before critisizing people, bud.

  • I think this is a Jupitair charter carrier. I used it to fly to Dubai and Istanbul last summer.

  • Thank god i flew in on a c-130. C-130's are equipped with countermeasures chaff and flare. Id have to be crazy to fly in on commerical aircraft into iraq.

  • Is that a dc8?

  • We have more numes than you, we arent police, we just kick ass and destroy, talk all you want, we have proven it.

  • LOL LOOK AT THE DESCRIPTION!

  • ???

  • Do you know what the usual approach speed is for the approach?

  • I don't know what kind of plane this is but its usually between 140-150Knots (depends on weight).

  • Corkscrew landing...takes balls, and skills.

  • I was on this flight and I was so excited to get off the plane and hit the town. Much to my dismay there was some war going on so sightseeing was a bit of a problem. But we had fun anyway. Lotsa camoflague and guns. I asked someone who was the war between but I couldn't understand him. Oh well, Off to Iran next year.

  • dude this is a dangerous way to land in a dangerous city

  • That's why I bet they pay the Pilots & Flight Attendants double or even more just to fly there. LOL.

  • yep spiral approach.. u can see its an f28 it has windows in shape of a circle... f70 and 100 are more like an egg and probaly smaller too

  • very nice video, is this plane for Iraqi Airways?

  • I'm one of the pilots flying this aircraft into baghdad. Yes we are South Africans. No we are not mercenaries and we are not paid a lot to do it. Most of us just do it to build some jet hours so we can move on to airlines in South Africa. CEDARJET707 you don't know what you're talking about.

  • Good on you, ihs. Thanks.

A question - Are usual ILS approaches ever used? The circling vis. approach to stay in secured airspace is the routine...?

What do you do in IMC? It must be cloudy in Iraq sometimes.

  • No only spiral approaches approved. If the clouds are lower than say 5000ft and the vis les then 1500m we normally return to Amman. IMC normaly brought on by dust storms

  • ps nice appraoch and landing .how can i apply for that job is there any way ?

  • do you guys use spiral appraoches to aviod gunfire? and or steep aproache away from the city?

  • Stari, dobra ti video! Sve sam to prošao, malo mi je knedla radila prvi puta kad smo sletili. Na sreću, opet se sve dobro završilo.

  • long live iraq best place ever

  • It's an F28 operating a flight FOR but not BY Royal Jordanian - to elaborate, it's operated by a mercenary operator from South Africa (listen to the accent on the PA!), the pilots and crew are paid a LOT to do this. It's simply too dangerous for RJ to chance their own metal and people in a city like Baghdad. To further illustrate the danger, even Iraqi Airways do not base any of their metal at Baghdad, they nightstop down the line eg Beirut, Cairo, Dubai.

  • The pilot is doing the spiral approach which was created to help lower the chance of getting hit by a missile. It is the only defense and this is an f-28 fokker becuase it has no reverse thrust, if no you would have heard it.

  • Royal Jordanian flies F-28 aircraft to baghdad, But I can't say that this Royal Jordanian.

  • What Airline is it??

  • Sweet!

  • Thats is a Fokker 70 or FOkker 100

  • Noisy Fokker, isn't it?

  • very cool vid. what plane was that ?
