  • Lmao

  • Poooooooooo thaa

  • Classic comedy means this

  • One of their best skits

  • wow boy, did costello got some brains to think of that money idea. haha love them.

  • WAYYY TOOO SMART

  • Yah! Go Lou!

  • A&C lovers hopefully have seen the classic routine with Sidney Fields telling Lou about life on a farm...Laugh out loud stuff!

  • epic!

  • @LoneComrad you can't forget Lucy

  • Pure comedy

  • Abbott and Costello film shoots were probably fairly easy for the directors, because the films are rife with comedy bits like these. Just about every skit like this had been done in their act, so when the scene called for it, they would pull out an old gem and go for it.

Bud and Lou had probably the best comedy team of all tiime. There are only a few in their league.

  • Haha genius!

  • Abbott was the funniest straight man a loveable scoundrel

  • I won 10 bucks from my friend for playing this trick on them. =P

  • lmfaooo

  • Happy Days used the same routine when they did a show for the leopard lodge.

  • 6 people thought they were here....

  • Damn! Lou got you!

  • the big guy got owned lol

  • Nobody could pull off a scam like Bud Abbott.

  • hey look, 5 idiots watched this video :P

  • I figured Lou was going to win the bet somehow.

I looks like 5 people who watched this are someplace else...

  • @FrodothePuppet

It's now six. Carlos Mencia got his Internet privileges back.

  • EPIC punchline

  • Classic

  • It seems comedy today is mainly comprised of fart jokes, saying a swear word in a funny way, sex jokes, etc

That's all fine every now and again, but I miss the old days of comedy. It was a bit predictable if the joke went on long enough as to how it ended at times, but as a whole it was much more effective. These two were geniuses. There just seemed to be more effort and heart put in and in a way that was suitable for everyone.

  • ROTFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! epic fail

  • lmfao nobody does comedy like this guy does

  • I would marry Lou!

  • EPIC FAIL. Rofl so funny.

  • Right after the man lost his money the second time, for a minute there I thought for sure he was going to pull out a gun on them or something lmao, wrong century!

Another reason why I like watching Abott and Costello =)

  • 10 bucks says that someone tried this

  • Rare to see Costello get to one-up someone else. :)

  • This is one way to help yourself while you wait for your stimulus check.

  • hahhaa

  • lol i love these guys

  • haha they were both in on it

  • Ill bet you 10 bucks Bud abbot And Lou Costello are the best classic actors. Besides the 3 stooges, and Marx brothers.

  • @LoneComrad and the little rascals XD

  • @LoneComrad Don't forget Martin and Lewis!!!

  • @LoneComrad personally I'd skip the end of your statement and just say, Abbott & Costello are the best! My personal favorites anyways, from as far back as I can remember. The others were good too though!

  • @LoneComrad no sane person with any intelligence would bet against you!

  • @LoneComrad I don't think they are beside any of them, Since they all died such a long time ago. So how can they be besides any one!

  • @LoneComrad Before you bet your money, watch Laurel & Hardy in such classics as "Berth Marks",

"County Hospital", "The Music Box" and "Them Thar Hills". Abbott & Costello were good & made you

chuckle, but Laurel & Hardy made people ROFL!

(The big guy in the sketch above was Mike Mazurki).

  • i love smart comedy

  • "BRILLIANT"! - A good play on words, as most of their sketches are.

  • awesome :)

  • He started the bet wrong- the person who you're betting against needs to be holding the money, so you can take the money from 'nobody' (since that person isn't there).

  • LOL!

I've never seen this! What's this from? A movie of their's or one of their episodes?

  • This is from their act.

  • It's from the movie "The Noose Hangs High".

  • I've never heard of that one!

  • Who gave me two thumbs down??? Why? This IS from "The Noose Hangs High!!"

  • OWNED!

  • i did this and got the cash but then had to dash. angry loser on the hunt

  • Time to earn some cash in class. :3

  • haha, wata freakin loser

  • owned

  • LOL

  • Make sense to me.

  • I love doing this to people

  • owned

  • I tried doing this to my sister, but she was so blonde, that it went entirely wrong.

  • LOLOL!!!

  • i remember this joke being on an episode of happy days

  • That was epic.

  • lol

  • classic!

  • I agree! :-)

  • Why don't we have this type of comedy anymore? :'(

  • Because people thing bodily functions, cursing, and dirty/insulting jokes are funny now.

  • They did then, too.

  • I want the next Abbot and Costello

  • There'll never be another Abbott and Costello. Only people who come close to them.

  • what about, Dean Martin & Jerry lewis?

and Jackie Gleason & Art carney?

    they were just as Good/Funny

  • @Sputters we got no talented ppl sad :(

  • @Sputters Be cause writers lack inspiration and originality. They only know fart jokes...

  • I lUv ThIS oNe!!!!

    lmso

  • HAHAH!!! daz jks :)

  • love you lou!!!!

  • The big "lug" was Max Baer, heavyweight boxer who fought a good fight with Joe Louis.

  • Nope. That's Mike Mazurki, wrestler and actor.

  • Nope. That's the late great Mike Mazurki, character actor and pro wrestler.

  • OMG!!! i did not see that ending coming lol >:D that is the greatest abbot and costello EVER!!!!

  • all i can say is.. OWNED

  • wow that is my second favorite of abbot and costello my favorite is my bonnie

  • OMG, i thot the 1st part : "ur not here" was funny.... but the "who took ur money?" was absolutely hilarious!!!

  • Thw next part is proving you don't exist.

    Do you breathe. etc. lol

  • How did they think of those insane gags. LOL.

  • AHAHAHAHAHAHAAHA!!!!!!

  • LMFAO

  • halarious!!

    5/5

  • LOL! They Are Crazy!

    D.Dreams

  • That guy's huge.

  • Word

  • yeah, that's why they always cast Mike Mazurki

as a thug...because he was huge! lol

  • He was awesome as the psycho killer Splitface in the orignal Dick Tracy, and as Moose Malloy.

  • He looks about 6 '5

  • i love these guys

  • lovely

  • To fromthesidelines: I didn't see your comment before I posted my first comment, but you're spot on: "The Noose Hangs High". And you're also correct that it's from 1948, and not 1944 as I posted! I love this movie. I remember it from my childhood!!

  • OMG, thats so funny

  • who knows the name of this scence or has a link to the script.

    the youtube title isnt right

  • adamloria: This scene is from an A&C movie called "The Noose Hangs High" - one of their best - I believe from 1944. Cheers.

  • im guna pull that one on my boss

  • haha thats funnyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!

  • this is the hardest one everrrrrr tight tight tight tight

  • XD Poor thug. He never knew what hit him.

  • sooooo funny

  • wow. he got Pwn3d

  • lol, that's awesome

  • a & c.....the best of all time!!!

  • haha love them

  • this is so perfect

  • I think this is from "The Noose Hangs High" (1948), where they revived that old burlesque chestnut, "Ten Dollars You're Not Here" [which they later used on "THE COLGATE COMEDY HOUR" and their filmed TV series]. That's veteran screen "heavy" Mike Mazurki opposite them...
