Great seeing sidecars playing silly buggers at rallies. I went to the final Black Duck in 1997, My fox terrier X, "Spike" won the trophy for longest distance rally dog, my wife won longest distance female and friend won longest distance male (he came from 15kms further east than me). Glad I got there while it was still going.
I didn't know it went on for 20 years! I went to the initial rally in 77, the 79, 81 and 83. I have pics of the 81 rally which I will post one day. The sidecars were always the best fun in the mud. The first rally was so innocent...everyone was full of camaraderie. the later rallies attracted some heavy characters, not real tourers but just heavy drinkers. Not so good.
