I saw lyle and mary chapin carpenter share a night in Glasgow,Scotland in the 90's.whenevr Lyle would come on CMT I would turn it over, he didnt appeal to me.. then I heard this song,and then when I heard him live, he blew me away, what a performer, totally effortless too, a real class act, and you made my day for I've been looking for this(and its a fantastic version) forever and a day. Thank you for putting this on you tube... if only I knew how to download this before it disappears

I have met a lot of people from Texas who have no idea who Lyle Lovett is, or can't stand him. Well don't let his hair fool you. Lovett's music is poignant and hauting at times, yet other times will bring a huge smile to your face. You have to listen to the lyrics. It is so much more than the dross from Nashville. He never talks about putting a "boot in your ass". Class act all the way.
