  • Good video...I do find it funny when he says "these are called pull-offs." Anyone who is attempting this style of playing better sure as hell know what a pull-off is! :)

  • you're damn good! nice work! greetings from italy

  • RODERITK SE PASA VALE, TODOS LOS VIDEOS DE HACE 2 SEMANAS ESTAN BRUTALES!! DEMASIADO FUERTE... ME HICISTE LLORAR LOLO... =(

  • Randy you legend! I have been waiting for a nice clean cut version of this for ages!

    Keep playing!

  • thanks for the lesson

  • KN,,,,ECXELLENT BRO ,,,THANX

  • Ever Notice That Merl Just Uses 2 Fingers to Pick With?Cool Tune To Do!

  • matt1284508 just shut up who cares man make your own god damn tutorial jees

  • Wrong chords called out again. It's a C#dim. to G/D(G with D in bass). It's a chromatic thang. The correct C#dim. notes He plays are C# in bass---Bflat---then E.Low to high. The G chord has to have a D as bass note to keep it chromatic and musical.

  • The correct chords for the bridge are C---C#dim.---G/D(G over D) to E7.It's a chromatic thing (half steps)and you can throw in a D# to E if you're quick enough.Making it totally chromatic.Randy should be embarrassed(this video is forever)as this is the second video he's called out the wrong chords. That's the bummer in the wonderful world of music very few folks, use their ear. They just play tab or something somebody showed them as in Randy's case.

  • Sounds like a C# diminished

  • Simply awesome friend!!!

  • Why aren't you making more money from your beautiful playing? Perhaps we can help! It won't be long and you will have your chance to Teach-The-World-Guitar. Subscribe to our YouTube channel and stay tuned for the launch date. Spread the good word my friend. Love the radio show...

  • You know...Randy has milions, and after every show he goes back out and signs whatever fans bring him. He is 65, has a bad back - I don't know of any other rock musician who does that for fans, and he did it at the Massey Hall concert I saw about three years ago too. So don't try to lay no boogie woogie on the King of Canadian Rock and Roll!

    He's a legend, and he's a really good guy.

  • Randy is not trying to show off as most video posters are. He is trying to teach us how to play a song. He shouldn't have to put up with wannabees posting rude comments.

I can't wait until this Friday night. I'll be in the front row for a taping of Vinyl Tap at Glenn Gould Studio in Toronto. There are shows this Friday, Saturday and Sunday. By the way, there are still tickets left. Maybe I'll ask Randy to do this song if he asks for requests. If anyone else reading this will be there, enjoy.

  • great job, thanks so much!!!!

  • Well said. Thanks. Couldn't quite figure out who "westermasterbaitor" was, or whatever, but it would seem that it doesn't take full deck to be able to post nonsense on the net. Besides, like it or not, unless you can do better....put up or shut up. ...and half the time it's usually better to do neither.

  • nice interpretation of the name ..i like it.wish i could play as good as randy..

  • youre not wrong bob.. I work with a singer on youtube and we decided to keep count... she has had 24 people in a row that have commented that they could sing better than her that havent have a single video of them singing...

Randy was awesome, still is awesome..

  • seems westerisbester account has been closed ..wonder why?

  • westerisbester ..who wrote it then shithead

  • Perfect.

  • all true.. he used to skip school to hang out with Lenny Brau.

  • Yeah man thats true, Randy and Lenny grew up in the same town and Randy learned to play guitar from him.

  • Like the intro to 6am or Nearer on the Canned Wheat Packed By The Guess Who album. Thanks Randy for all the great tunes, keep Takin Care Of Business.

  • Hi, thanks for this. It really helped. Thanks

  • nice

  • Love the Vinyl Tap!

CBC Radio one keeps getting better!

  • great stuff!

  • Thanks for posting! Very helpful to begginer fingerpickers like me!! = ]

  • I love this show!..made my truckin' Saturday's go by very quickly.

    Thanks

  • This is good but I'd also like to see undone transcribed to learn it before it gets buried to far back it the list of all the songs you've ever wanted to know how to play!

  • Oops - please disregard thatposting about the thumb - I just got to that section - it's about as good as it can get. This is the best video lesson I have ever seen, and I've seen a lot of them. Thanks!!

  • What a find! Randy, thank you. I've thoroughly enjoyed your music thru the years...saw you in New Orleans back in '74 when I was a poor college kid and couldn't afford a good guitar.. .you threw your strat into the audience. I woulda killed for it...till I saw it went to some young person in a wheel chair.

Was thrilled when I found this one. Do you have others. Can we give requests? Am I asking too much? Thank you for your music and any lessons you want to share.

    GL

  • Randy - This is a very helpful lesson - one of the very best, but could you please help us out a little bit on the right thumb? Espacially on that little g to D7 part - that thumb part is murder (atr least for me).

  • I saw Randy In calgary a couple years ago and it was amazing. You are a god along with david Gilmour

  • Thanks a million Randy!! This song looks so hard the way Chet or Tommy E plays it but you given us a great simple explanation of it. Well done and keep them coming.

  • this is awesome! it's funny because i was just attempting to figure out 6 A.M. or Nearer. This deffinitly helped alot.

  • Randy! you were and still to this day an amazing guitarist, and a nice personality to match, one of my favourites by you is Hey You,everytime i listen to it,i go back 25 yrs ,and still see myself as a young teenager enjoying B.T.O, Thnx a million Randy, a true pioneer of Canadian music.

  • Not only a great guitarist,But a great teacher too,Happy Canada Day Randy
