  • @makaveli if you pause it at 0:39, the woman is driving on the left, she just swerves to the other side to avoid him

  • @Castell787

Think the point was think before your drink and drive, not speed.

  • I saw this advert whilst I was visiting cousins in Ireland when I was about 5... omg I was traumatised they should not have this stuff on the telly during the day

  • @MrTheNerdy I know, right? (Same here!)

  • Search mt cabs advert

  • a little ironic how the kid just happens to be staring at the garden fence just as a car smashes through the fence, i did find this funny, and i don't give a shit, its such a stupid advert.

  • ok... ill never drink capri-sun and drive ever again...

  • i've never been more ashamed in my life. my responsible cousin, the last person you would ever immagine to do such a thing did that last night and wrote his car off. noone was hurt, but that is the last thing that his mum needs. her husband and father have already died this year. she doesn't need her 20 year old son to die too.

  • Nice scare tactic... He looked pretty sober to me. It's the one's that stumble into their car you gotta watch out for.

  • I can't believe he didn't trip at 0:47...

  • "here man, have u jump leads!"

  • typical woman driver in the silvery car driving on the wrong side of the road.

  • @makaveli181 Fucking sexist. There's no scientific study that proves that.

  • @EmoScars17 thatwasthejoke.jpg

  • That kid got pwned haha awesome!!

  • @xDarkAngelFallingx your attempt to be funny fails miserably.

I thought it would be hard to be lamer than the ad, but you've succeeded.

  • @xDarkAngelFallingx

Your wretched heart and your lack of a soul makes me feel bad for you.

That is all I have to say.

I hope you become a better person one day.

Or even more contextual: I hope you become a person one day.

  • @defiantBlaze lol you say, im wretched

this was played at my highschool at a drink driving thing they held for us, as soon as the kid got owned the WHOLE school burst into laughter

    so yea idgaf

  • Garbage. Kep it real, this is like an A-Team stunt.

  • the part when the kid die is very shitty

  • 0:40 yao min

  • Don't drink and drive! You could break someone's fence!

  • that car just fucking flew... it did not just skid...

  • Omg! this is so upsetting it makes me mad that a man woukd be so careless ! dont ever EVER drink and drive

  • 1 of the BESSSSSSSSSSSSSSST I'v Cn! Reports now say ANY amount of alcohol IMPAIRS driving!! NEED 2 drink? = NEED a sober ride!!! STAY SAFE!!!!

  • 1 of the BESSSSSSSSSSSSSSST I'v Cn! Reports now say ANY alcohol IMPAIRS driving!! NEED 2 drink? = NEED a sober ride!!!

  • @gingergiblet HAHA LEGEND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • the song is called : Man Of The World by Fleetwood Mac

  • I remeber seeing this as a young lad, maybe 5 or six years old. Scared the life out of me every time. Should be shown all over the world. By the way, the song is ''Man Of The World'' by Peter Green.

  • Anyone else do a loud clap and yell "SPLA" at 0:43?

  • I live In Northern Ireland and it is normal most accidents happen this way

  • whats the song

  • the ads are getting too violent...

  • @dublosmiley Whats the point in showing little shit ads that dont show how bad an accident can really be? They should be more violent than this and people would think twice about doing stupid things on the roads! Too violent my arse

  • @DriverDuff .........its Friday

  • what just happened with that car looked as though it just could not happen but yh the advert was sad

  • why dont people learn there limits n to handle there drink, but because they cant n theres so many accidents it comes back on all of us n if everyone cud drink drive like me then we wudnt need this stupid law

  • In Ireland if two cars collide and both drivers been as sober as a judge this accident could still be classed as a drink related accident. For if one car had a passenger in back seat over the drink drive limit, the RSA Ireland tell us it's drink related. no wonder stats are so high.... Only in Ireland!!!!

  • Guys I don't really mean to be racist but I dn't think their is a god other wize he would off gaven all the people who died from people drinking and driving another chance in life :(..but you never knw miricals can happen :(

  • Honestly at 0:23 the guy looks like Nicepeter. o3o

  • OMG O.O

  • It's funny cause people got hurt ;)

    Cheers!

  • Reference my last comment, I only wish I could get a hold of the ad in question and upload it. If anyone else remembers it or can obtain and upload it, please do it.

  • A real shock to the system. I drink, I drive, but I don't drive when I've been drinking alcohol. I remember a drink drive ad on the tv several years back. I think the song played was called 'Oh Jewel' and I was at a disco when it was one of the last songs the DJ played. A lot of cars were collected the next day. The ad featured a young couple. The girl was injured seriously, and the lad visited her in Hospital the next day to be horrified at seeing her so seriously hurt.

  • Yes, yes i could.

  • I can't watch this without crying. :'( So when it comes on, I turn it off.

  • YOU LAUGH YOU LOSE

  • How to get drunk with a key. Drink 2 pints or 2 shorts. Put the key in ignition and magic- your drunk! Yes, your a "Drunk Driver"

  • 2 people got hit by a car while the driver was drunk XD

  • the song is by fleetwood mac man of the world

  • the song is by fleetwood mac man of the world

  • Deep but happens way to often.

    Will pass it on!

  • @debbieswinyer thanks i can walk but i do not walk the same way i did for over 2 years it changed my familys life thay took care of me the drink driver was not hurt at all i dont rember the crash at all how about you write a song on how drink driving can change a persons life

  • Drinking alcohol or taking drugs slows the ability to act. Nobody can say that they are unaffected by drink so nobody should get behind the wheel of a vehicle having taken a drink. I don't think there is any need to analize this video just take in the message.

Thank you for sharing this video Jimmy and for relating your experience.

  • because of a drink driver 2 years of my life i could not walk sending this out in a share

  • disturbing to say the least

  • never EVER drink :)

  • A powerful advert

  • My only problem with this? The kid is intact, something not likely to happen when hit by a rolling car at that speed, and with all the other shrapnel.

He should have been dismembered and probably in three or four pieces.

Unless you have viewers staring, twitching, or crying, the PSA has not lived to its full potential.

  • @1RadicalOne shut up you loser :L

  • So I take it an intelligent and meaningful response was not within your capabilities?

  • @1RadicalOne You obviously dont understand fully what happens when a car goes over a kid, especially on grass, and mud. He got crushed to death, you don't need to be dismembered to be killed.

  • Wrong. Because of the way the car was rolling, there would be shear forces, that is, him pressed between the car and the ground, the former trying to slide him along the ground, the latter trying to hold him in place.

Flesh is rather poor at withstanding that.

  • @1RadicalOne you do know mud will give way under stress? there would be cuts, but no dismemberment. YOu really have to learn what happens when a car hits a little kid.

  • Who said anything about mud? The kid is on grass, and if the grass is at all like where I live, it is a centimeter of soil at most with bedrock underneath.

  • @1RadicalOne mud and soil are the same, and no not everywhere is like where you live. Look at what part of the car crush the kid, the roof, thay will crush not dismember, no sharp edges to catch on anything. So no the kid would not be dismembered.

  • One, no, mud and soil are NOT the same. Mud is wet dirt, and is soft, extremely deformable, and usually somewhat sticky.

Soil is drier, more granular, and less deformable. And, if it has small rocks in it, as soil is likely to do, it is abrasive.

I did not see what part of the car crushes the kid; it is not shown clearly.

But sharp edges are not required for shear forces. You are confusing it with tearing.

  • @1RadicalOne I am not confusing it with anything, if you not willing to look, and figure out for yourself that the roof crushed the kid, that is your problem, and mud and soil are the same, come from the same thing. yes mud is wet, what do you get when you dry mud? Dry mud? no your get soil. Soil is also deformable when a lot of weight is exerted onto it. Anyway the point of this ad is not dismemberment but drink driving. It doesn't have to make 100% sense. The kid would stil die no matter what

  • They come from the same thing, but their properties and actions on bodies are vastly different. THAT is what matters, not origins.

By that logic, water and ice are the same, hell, even water vapor.

  • @1RadicalOne You're an idiot. Think of the term suspension of disbelief. It is used quite a lot in ads, films and tv. Also it is shocking enough without seeing a dismembered body, especially a kids body.

  • You need a better rebuttal to my last comment than THAT. To your credit, at least you did not say "your [sic] an idiot".

As for the rest, I have a policy about these sort of PSAs (driving, smoking, it does not matter):

If the ad does not leave the viewer twitching, crying, or blankly staring at a loss for words, it has not lived up to its full potential.

Because face it. Have you seen some of the comments on these videos? Morons who say things like "I could live through that."?

  • I have seen how effective these adverts can be when teaching the consequences to new drivers and old not just ppl that have been prosecuted for drink driving. They are heart breaking especially when you know they come from real accidents/incidents. I have kids myself and it scares me, but to know they are working to stop others suffering this same fate i admire them and the permission given to use their story's.

  • the one where the girl is in the wheelchair wat is the song called?

  • @pabloDAjanitor13 'i can't take my eyes off you' by avrutin

  • i remember seeing this when i was 7 and i gave me nightmares ever since and im 15 now and im still shitting myself, now im scared to go to my back garden...

  • such a sad vid,......

skankMaster69 the song is ; Man of the world by fleetwood mac

  • @XxCRAZYxFACExX

    You laughed?

    Nice. Dick.

  • wats the name of the song?

  • I think the decription shoud be " think before you drink"

  • i don't really think that 1) the car would really flip into someone's yard and randomly flatten a kid, and 2) that the driver of the car that just went flying in the air would be able to just get out and walk away

  • @girlofgaga63 The point of the video is to show how devastating it can be to people's lives because of a drink driver. Also, many people walk away from crashed. I myself walked away from 2 violent car crashes.

  • @2491cc yeah but I'm sure that you can show the damage if you have the kid playing by the side of the road or something. IDK it just kind of looks like a scene from an action movie

  • People don't drink and drive, I did it one time and spilt lager all over my brand new jeans. It pissed me right off.

  • just think, i have to live with this advert on my telly everyday.

  • As a father, I should probably not burst out laughing everytime I see this ad, but it really does crack me up. Karma, it's up to you.

  • This realy gets to me. So it did it's job. Hope it's managed to educate some of our drink drivers out there who think one or two drinks are ok.

  • This one always gets me :( :/

  • The 1 that waz shown in Scotland: World oc Corpse is a bit creepier, check it out. But I agree, horrific.

  • propaganda is terrible

  • i agree tht this is horrific and ppl shd just know not to drink and drive withou having to see this but if this saved even 1 life then it was worth it

  • dont know what i'd do if that was my son..

  • @121Ginger121 i'd probably grab the driver and feed him his own hands.

  • such a sad advertisement, hate watching it cause it gets me everytime..:( gotta feel for the family in it

  • Did he died ?

  • So deep and Meaningful

  • oh. my. god.

  • this is the one in northern ireland! always used to be on the other one for speeding is worse

  • I had to do a English coursework piece on this advert and one on binge drinking. The one with the dude who beats himself up and destroys his outfit before leaving the house. And we were asked which one was more effective.Everyone agreed this advert was too horrific not to be the most effective. My mum can't even watch this advert, she has to cover her eyes or leave the room.

  • whats this song called?

  • Man of the World - Fleetwood Mac

  • WHAT THE HELL THATS SO BAD.

  • Blimey :/ To be honest I used o just think of safety adverts as the annoying bits inbetween my programs on the telly, but this one really got to me

  • well, the point of this ad is just to let us know that little mistakes we do pays a lot. Understand.

  • One of the people who was involved in making this ad had a child run over shortly after it was first aired in 2001. Remember reading it in the paper.

  • @tenbeter ironic

  • aww poor little dude he was so cute lol it conviced me they should show it on tv

  • i agree.

  • Haha, it's most certainly possible in all circumstances, the guy attended a football game with his mates, and they had a few pints after, the guy felt slightly tipsy around 5-6ish and tilted his head back, and wham, you dont pay attention and that's what will generally happen. Considering the fact that it happened in a urban area, where everything is possible. I've even heard of terrible accidents quite similar to this in real so it is considered possible.

  • It's not necessarily dramatic man, it's actually a very effective video demonstrating the 'Possibility'. For instance, if they were to suggest making an advert which was basically a car slamming into a wall end off, that's just too plain, the idea of hitting a beloved child catches the viewers emotional thoughts.

  • @hehmonkey noone dies in a dramatic fashion? really? if one of your loved ones died near you, you wouldn't cry? you wouldn't scream?

i don't know why i even keep youtube comments on, it's full of emotionless, retarded pricks.

  • what was the song called!

  • lol what a joke this ad is. most of them dont have a guilt conscience at all

  • Just for the record, this advert was based on a true crash that happened in England and the reconstruction was made into an advert shown on Irish tv as it is too explicit on English tv.

  • I completely agree, higher punishments for drink-drivers and more stern cases towards celebs who get caught doing illegal things. Money should make no difference to how innocent you are but unfortunately it does these days. Everybody should be tried equally, and judged according to their crimes, not their wallets...

  • 1, I'm not a dude

2, People who've actually lost family in car accidents would have probably reacted the same way as me to your comment

3, that's not really all that unrealistic, if you flip a car, in an urban aread, theres a high chance it'll end up in somebodies garden, and during the day, theres also a reasonable chance there WILL be people in that garden. This video is far from unrealistic.

  • 4, I agree, people shouldnt NEED to see things like this not to drink and drive, they just plain shouldnt do it in the first place, however for the RETARDS that still do anyway, I think all the brutal, horiffic, upsetting road safety adverts should be put on the tv during the evening after 9 or 10pm, when all the moronic drunk drivers tend to vegetate on the sofa. Might wake them up a little.

  • @FireflyPoi We still need these kind of ads, because there are always idiots who drink and drive, they just are too stupid to get the picture that they are doing more harm then good.

  • @FireflyPoi won't that b when they r out drinking

  • hope you get ass raped by a fuckin lion you fuckin dick. If you think that is funny, you have a sick sense of humour, you think a child being killed cos of some dicks decision to drink and drive?

  • im in high school and i have to watch this over and over agen :(

  • this actually made me tear up abit.

  • i had to watch it in college it was so bad :|

  • i bet it was.

  • true so very true.

  • @hehmonkey Your a sick fuck, i hope your family die in some brutal horiffic way and see how you like it you worthless piece of shit.

  • nice one.

  • saw this vid at the end of a safe driving show aswell and i was actually left speechless. It took me and my mates completely by suprise.

  • same outfits

  • i always hate watching this vid, always makes me feel sad :(

  • I watched this in my road safety show, ths all most put me off driving, even though its aimed at drink driving...

  • how could he survive that and get out RIGHT away????

  • That drunk would have been a dead man before the cops got there.

  • Couldn't agree more !!
