@tadeadliest Keep them as long as you can along the straight areas. I overlap smaller strips around the corners with n/p. It's more important to get the air bubbles out.
Hey man. As far as I'm concerned, these things are REALLY legit, and easy to take care of. I got 10 males and 10 females and 25 nymphs for like $20 on craigslist, and I was just wondering if I should seperate the little Nymphs from the biggers ones. Because I see people talking about doing that. But I've had my little colony growing pretty good for a couple months now, and I haven't really gone out of my way at all to take care of them like that. Any help about separation would be nice.
@UnhappyBook I wish I could but I cannot ship internationally. Your best bet would be to keep an eye on the classifieds found on different international forums. I'm not too familiar who has what in Canada but I'm sure someone on a forum could guide you to someone who sells them up there. Good Luck!
I too live in South East FL and my son has a young beardie that I would looooove to be able to give Dubias to . Seems the main reason they feel that Dubia's should not be in FL is because of our "great" weather, but it's getting colder every winter down here. This January / Febuary we had temps with the highs in the 60's for two straight weeks. It we get freezes in the winter months now. Just doesn't seem fair. If you decide to ship to the far South, I'm in!
what's this thing about Dubia being forbidden in FL? I live in FL and the damn things run around outside and in your house!! Plus I'm ordering my 1st (t's) in Sept and I was liking what I've seen about the Dubia better than the stinky crickets. Now they are forbidden in FL? Are you kidding me?
I just ordered some B.discoidalis roaches, I was wondering if you had any experience with them and if I can/should use the same or a similar set up with them as you would with dubias?
I would love to order dubias but living in Florida that's nigh impossible unless I break the law! lol

@KAMERUS88 I'm actually breeding Discoids again. Care for them in the same way you would Dubia. However, they can't stand high heat like Dubia. 85 degrees is perfect.
I've been on the phone w/ officials in Tallahassee quite a bit and none of them can produce documents that forbid Dubia in Fl. I've even had a couple of them tell me they don't know what I'm talking about. I'll tell you this, I think it's a load of crap and w/ the econ the way it is I may be shipping to FL very soon.
That sounds awesome! Please keep us updated on anything that you find! Also thanks for posting these helpful videos for us Roach newbies! I'm so excited to say goodbye to crickets once and for all!
@Tarantulakid1997 They eat any kind of produce but like sweeter fruits like Oranges and Apples the best. Get a high protein low crude fat dog or cat food. Grind it up and they'll eat that right up. A lot of people (including myself) use that as a form of roach chow.
@Tarantulakid1997 You want to keep them gutloaded w/ chow and crystals 24/7 and feed them produce at least a couple times a week. Remember you aren't feeding the roaches for their own health your gutloading them for the animals you are feeding. So whatever you want to accomplish by feeding roaches make sure they are fed appropriately.
hey love your videos man just ordered from you and been talking to you through email. all bearded dragon owners and reptile owners need to buy your roaches from the roach ranch great guy.
@ROFLpwnedvideos Yes over time they will. What I do is vent on the sides in the middle of the tub close to the top. Then I glue the mesh on and tape around the mesh on the inside so they can't get onto it.
awesome video man!!! i been wanting to have chameleon but stayed away from them because of the crickets and this here is my solution. caant wait to order from you, thanks for the video!
@tomcatpilot13 point noted and I think it's a great idea. I will keep that in mind as we work thru making more of the vids! Thanks for checking them out as well!
A heat lamp would work but you'd probably have to keep the top off your enclosure and I wouldn't recommend that. I know some people use CHE's and Infared Lamps but do your homework first. Not worth creating a fire hazzard over roaches.
I just got too watch and I put sime sliced oranges in will that do for now as the water crystals and I'm still waiting on babies lol but great vid 5* bro
I've been waiting so long Lol but u were right I got another turtle lol it was a rescue tho and I knt watch the vid cuz I finaly moved to ATL and there's no service for my bberry but ill watch it later oh yeah and I left my water crystals back in DC what can I do?

cool video man...still waiting on my first batch of babies to hatch from the Dubias i ordered from you.. Do you ever plan on carrying any other breed of feeder roaches?
They'll be dropping babies before you know it bro, trust me! I'm not sure what direction I'll be going w/ inside the reptile industry. I've got a few different ideas.
when taping the inside does it need to be one piece of tape or can i do small strips layered over each other

Very helpful, thanks
Do you suggest a clear or dark colored tub? I've seen both. I was thinking that dark would be preferred because the roaches don't like lite.
Aquajerryum 2 months ago
@Aquajerryum I like dark colored tubs just as you said for less light. Glad the video was helpful to you!
TheRoachRanch1 2 months ago
can you use vasaline insted of tape
TheEvilPaintballer 5 months ago
@TheEvilPaintballer - Everyone used to but roaches can still get thru it. Tapes just easier and less messy. Works like a charm too!

Would heat tape or a heat pad work well on a sterilite bin like that?
TBGeckos 2 years ago
I know people use both applications, not sure how safe they are. You'll need a T-stat w/ heat tape also.
TheRoachRanch1 2 years ago
Okay, yeah, I might just use a $20 heat pad or something..
