you know how I feel about the partnership program... that having been said, there are good partners and bad partners and you are certainly the former. as for anakin - the language in the letter is insulting and stupid... and I feel for anyone who wants to be partner and is turned down... but to look like you are fighting back tears and threaten to "not be around much for a week or so" is EXACTLY the kind of importance you speak of and it is spawned by the partnership program.

I was really surprised with the wording of the letter. I guess.... I don't know. If I hadn't been invited or was rejected... I can't say for sure, but rejection doesn't bother me much as it happens so often...  part of life. However, I must say that is aggressive and ugly to be told you are not unique to any given community. That's hurtful...

1-I like Jipsi, but I don't agree with much of how he interprets. I think he thinks I was whining. Wasn't. I was talking.

2-I was taking advantage of this to address 3 things.

a) introduce Jenzatron

b) call attention to Anakin1814

c) Ride the coattails of Applemilk1988's situation to call attention to the other 2

d) Give people like YOU the opportunity to point out the obvious! :)

I liked the vid... just the timing of the question while talking about the things that happened... If you had it in a separate vid... what happened to them was / is wrong and offensive. But then to ask in the same video if you should apply or accept... AM I making sense?  I asked many people what they thought before I responded to the partnership offer. No doubt. I know how messed up it is and how it messes up other people - like a badge. Hope this makes sense.

The partnership thing is starting to drive me nuts. People wanting it, getting upset about not being, behaving strangely when they do, treating those who aren't on it like lesser beings, and a lot of this from those who claim they don't like the system and want freedom. There's nothing wrong with making a bit of money out of the creative work we all do here, and you are one of the few I haven't seen compromised by it, but it seems to change the majority. I think on balance I'd rather not be.

What always got me was how the "Premium" flash video player that partners get sucks ass compared to the normal one...

1. No rewind button.

2. No video length in the timer display.

3. It's usually jerkier, slower to load and less reliable.

I would be really concerned if it weren't for the fact that all of that info has virtually no bearing on anyone's life whatsoever. :)

Yeah, I know what you mean. I agree. It shouldn't be an issue, really. In fact, you might be able to argue that partnership helps Google monetize in a less obtrusive way, thus helping to avoid more Draconian measures being taken down the road.
