I enjoyed this music but I really want to know more about how to do basslines like this. I am having trouble with some Jarre music and Dr Who theme because I can't play bass and the main melody at once. I only have one synth and can't do everything. I wish I could learn how to use the first thing shown, is there any training available or do you just have to buy one, read the manual and get on with it?
@Laura041974 Thank you for the comment. I am not a keyboard wizard myself and I just manage to independently play a simple bassline or chords left and a melody with the right hand. As you can see I mostly use my little finger and thumb to do an octaved bassline. In this video I do just one note because the synth is monophonic. I did not have any training myself but if you practice regularly, in time you will learn. Perhaps a piano or organ teacher in your neighbourhood can teach you some basics.
Amazing track. Now THAT's really Berlin school. I'm wondering if the "Elka Rhapsody" patch is from the "vintage synth" expansion board or something because I searched it among the preset sounds of my XP-30 (which has probably the same internal presets as the XP-80) and couldn't find it. Maybe it's a self-programmed patch?
@sauermusicDE Thank you for the comment. The Elka Rhapsody sound is patch 109 from the SR-JV80-04 Vintage Synth expansion board. The only thing I altered was setting the TVF and TVA Env Level 2 and 3 to 127 to sustain the sound.
I love that B -> B flat -> A progression! Wow, very Ian Fleming or something. Nice sequences as usual. Glad to read you got the Q171 to jibe with the Creamware. That sounded really edgy. Great job Martin!
I love your sequences! something I can aspire too.... but with no modulars ;( I would love to download and 'remix' with a few beats and buildups in there!
Darling, it's unbelievable, always find the inspiration for this wonderful music. With a little imagination, you recognize the sound of Rome. The Pope will certainly enjoy this soundtrack and we have enjoyed in Rome!!!! LotsaLove Anne XXXX
