molly hatchets 1st two albums were as good as anything skynyrd ever did.....ronnie vanzant loved these guys.....if they would have never broke up in 80 who knows how big they would have been.....and they are still a great show.
you cant ad-lib through molly hatchet....you either know it or yur screw'd.....great stuff......i still play this stuff in the clubs and people look like they were shot in the balls.....priceless
@wkunderwood2003 umm one question is that a good thing.I mean if i were shot in the balls i dont think i would have a good look on my face lol.btw awesome song
I was so lucky to get to open up for Molly Hatchet in Catskill New York in 1994 DJB was back with the band at that time and his voice totally floored me. I saw Hatchet in concert in at the Nassau Colisseum in Long Island new york in 1981 with a different singer and it was no comparison!!! DJB AND HATCHET RULE!!! If any of the band members read this thanks again for great southern rock and letting Brimstone share the stage with you. Elliott
did you know 500 dollars will get you head blown off.....it will.... ha ha haaaaa! simply awesome kick ass song. i remember seeing molly hatchet in worcester massachusetts at the centrum in1979 and a huge poster of their flirtin with disaster cover came on the stage behind them. and we all just went crazy and got into fights and started beatiin up anything that was near us. good times wild times. thanks for the memories molly hatchet..
Since gator country was a pro-Florida song and Florida is now filled to the brim with yankees and mexicans.....the "mouth of the south" award now goes to the CDB.
Did you know $500 will get your head blowed off? It will! Actually, probably a lot less given the current economic situation. This is why gun rights are important.A person has a right to defend his/her self!!
the lyrics are just awesome! outlaws on the loose running from the noose. did you know 500 hundred dollars will get your head blown off it will--ha ha ha!-i love it. seems to me this is one hell of a way to earn that pay
I hear some of Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Double Troube" in this song. The main riff, and the :27 part. And he even too the words "Seems to me..." from Double Trouble for that part. Anyone else notice it?
this is good ol fashioned ass kickin southern rock. The music itself and his voice is good. But if you listen to some of there lyrics its kinda dumb lol. its just my opinion this is the kinda music u listen to when hella smashed
that Molly Hatchet whistle kicks mega ass. who is the lead singer of this band? he has one of the most badass voices i have heard, next to James Hetfield, Zakk Wylde, David Draiman, Brendon Smalls, Serj Tankien, Corey Taylor, David Lee Roth, Ozzy Osbourne, and the singer from Lynyrd Skynyrd (yeah, whats his name as well?)
@crash30183 is Ronnie the current one? because didnt their first singer die early in the band and his brother took over? either way, i love Skynyrd and Hatchet.
@cen22824 R.IP. .......that sucks. Molly Hatchet is amazing, i have been a minor fan of them my whole life, but i have just REALLY gotten into their music recently. im workin on playin Gator Country on guitar and i can almost do the solos perfectly.
I hate to bash them because they are my favorite band but they need to get back to there roots and toss justice. they have cool art on all there albums, even justice but what made them great was there music . not the album covers .
Molly Hatchet is my favorite band and I love most there songs especially from 78 to 90
because they were a perfect clear shot image of southern fried rock. DJB and Jimmy were rockin it those days and it was great . but now Hatchet is trying to modernize there image which to me takes away my passion for the band . Mckormick is trying
to make the band have rock/ pop/punk/country band. You cant do that to a band that has already lade footsteps a legendary band .
i met danny joe once. he seemed like a nice guy and down to earth. i got some really cool pictures of him that night..even one of him signing my double trouble cd.
What could be better than the "Death Dealer" work of art by Frank Frazetta (R.I.P.,) the voice of Danny Joe Brown (R.I.P.,) and the guitar army of Molly Hatchet?
I Painted this album cover for a class project in high school...1979... it is 3ft wide and 4ft tall. my dad had it in his livingroom for years. i still have it in my garage...
"was into Frank Frazetta when I was a kid. This German kid moved to my apartment complex and he wanted to fight me for some reason, over nothing. We became friends and his dad had this 8 track tape. We went on a road trip and this music came alive to me."
Played this in college. Hot summer night at the bar with the doors open. People driving by heard the music and packed the place. An hour into the gig, the bassist, pissed at the crowd for showing too little adoration, got on the mike and started chastising the crowd. "We're up here playin' our guts out and you people... and so on". He didn't play the bass that well. Later he got punched - just bad mojo I guess. I apologize to anyone who witnessed his meltdown.
ronnie van zant was producing molly hatchet when the plane crashed. this album was recorded in the same studio with skynards equipment. ronnie van zant was going to be hatchets official producer. i dont see how they could have ripped this off
What an absolutely wicked beat, I can't dance worth a crap but it makes me want to grab a hot little country sweetie and hit the floor, time for some jukin'!!!
man i love this song, i got it for christmas, i wasnt even expecting the best of molly hatchet cd, but my mum got it and i fell in love with it even though i listen to heavy stuff usually
Isn't that a euopean war horse? I'm not big on tattoos,I only have one and that 's the only other one I would ever consider.Love that horse no matter what kind it is.
yep, some kind of "destrier" as its called, this type of horse of course went out of use when gunpowder got introduced, but some of the bigger workhorses of continental europe are descended from these war breeds.
@SmackAss0 You have obviously never seen him live. I seen him with the Outlaws and .38 special the 1st time, then seen him solo with Blackfoot and he was fantastic. His voice was unique and different unlike the generic sound of today. In the era of southern rock everyone had they're own sound and DJB was one of the best. He was an awesome sing and even better human being. I've known countless ppl who met him including the former program director at WSHE in Ft. Lauderdale. He was awesome PERIOD!!
@MasterWitchDoctor Did You ever see them at "The Candystore"? Wow, Incredibly LOUD, cause the place was so small for all that Talent!! and backstage? Line-Em-Up! Whitelines, and ladies, HELL YEAH! DJB could'nt have been cooler, what a loss, ROCK-ON DJB!!
@MasterWitchDoctor Your damn right ... Nobody... not even Mr Van Zandt himself... can touch that strong growl, scratchy whisky voice and southern soul DJB naturally had ... God damn he was good ... I miss him a lot right now
A little infomation about the band name and where it came from. Some know it some don't. So the next time you meet a girl named Molly, look out.......
Named after a legendary Southern prostitute who allegedly beheaded and mutilated her clients.
