  • Thumbs up if this song makes you think of Lorelai Gilmore

  • ive bought two of the albums and this band is gr8!

  • OLD NEWS OLD NEWS TO YOU THEN!!!! <3 <3 love this song

  • The Sweet Boxes make such good musical numbers.

  • Feel in love with Fleet foxes the first time I heard them. Wow...such beautiful music...so reminiscent of Simon & Garfunkel and other folk/rock artist...love it!!

  • This is good stuff. You young'ns should support this kind of band.A more subtantial meal than all this other crap

  • @toreupwithlove 'all this other crap'? Your name's toreupwithlove, you're clearly full of crap

  • FYI: The Lorelei is a rock on the eastern bank of the Rhine near St. Goarshausen, Germany, which soars some 120 metres above the waterline. It marks the narrowest part of the river between Switzerland and the North Sea. A very strong current and rocks below the waterline have caused many boat accidents there. Lorelei is also the name of a feminine water spirit, similar to mermaids or Rhine maidens, associated with this rock in popular folklore and in works of music, art and literature.

  • kind of ripped off "bob dylan - fourth time around"...still a good song though

  • this band makes me think of the 60s, simon and garfunkel, the who. awesome.

  • Lorelei is the name of a rock which caused many ships on the River Rhine in Germany to sink. So they fashioned a legend that on this rock a beautiful nymph was seducing the sailors with her looks. They lose control and crash against the rock. I grew up in the region near the Lorelei rock.

  • @taipeidiaries

how does that apply to this song though...

  • ORGASMO MUSICAL

  • awesome

  • @thelebowski5 plz dont label them FF, foo fighters are FF, i love fleet foxes too but hey lets not get overboard here.

  • favorite bands- Fleet foxes, mumford, cage the elephant, black keys, coldplay, red hot chili peppers

  • I love Mumford and Sons. these guys are good too

  • FF kick so much ass. To anyone who really thinks Mumford and Sons is the pinnacle of this type of music, please try Fleet Foxes.

  • i dont understand how more people dont know about this band. disappointment.

  • @authorityblues It's really a stretch to say that the prominent melody in this song plagiarises "4th Time Around."

  • Is this their latest record?

  • @BOXBRAIN53 Yes

  • What's with the quality?

  • @cumulus0007 My bad. Though, i kinda liked it that way so i let it be haha..

  • @cloudtifa whoa..."cloudtifa" replies to "cumulus" ... fixed?? :P

  • beautiful song when your as high as i am.(still beautiful sober but this just helps alot lol)

  • This song utterly breaks my heart but makes me happy at the same time. This band is one of a kind. I'm so grateful I found out about them.

  • This song makes me so happy :)

  • Ugh, sound quality

  • I listened to this album as i was walking through my grandparent's old farmstead, nestled in the golden hills of the Appalachians. One of the most moving esperiences of my life.

  • oh shut up all of you. Didnt you hear recycling is good for the environment and stuff. Be quiet and enjoy the song. Or hate it. I dont care, either way... shut up.

  • cryptomnesia is when you have a memory but bealive it is something you created . whoever wrote this song probably heard 4th time around and then later wrote this song thinking he had invented the melody, no big deal

  • THE CAVEMAN INVENTED THE WHEEL!

  • Love this song... All the harmony! :)

  • Norwegian Wood...? oh.. that's a song name. I thought it was a Nordic man commenting on his love for Fleet Foxes.

  • @authorityblues HAHA yeah... ok

  • @tombnelson listen to 4th time around and try telling me they didn't lift that melody. i love the fleet foxes but thats thievery plain and simple.

  • @authorityblues I can see why you would think that, but there is no way that Pecknold would ever rip something off of one of his favorite folk singers. Just because there is a similar beat and 3 or 4 notes sound the same doesn't mean plagarism... Have you ever thought that two great songwriters could come up with similar song structures?! Great minds think alike.

  • @tombnelson Dylan was guilty of plagiarism too. He lifted the negro hymn "No More Auction Block" for Blowin' in the Wind. Its not uncommon.

  • Amazing song..not got any of thier other stuff but listened to some tracks on here and will def be buying the album :)

  • I have this album. I recommend buying it.

  • Holy crap! This is good stuff!

  • Song of my LIFE right now!

  • The estate of Nick Drake demands royalties for stealing "One of These Things First."

  • @fluorophore I personally don'y see/hear the connection to "One of These Thngs First" or any Nick Drake song for that matter.... care to enlighten me?

  • I want fleet foxes to follow me everywhere I go and sing to me from behind an elm tree.

  • @Greentizzle -- That's what I said about Ladysmith Black Mambazo years ago!

  • @Greentizzle love you

  • @Greentizzle

lol you posted that exact comment on another fleet foxes video

  • so, i don't really want to be that person that's like, "hey! go check out my cover!" but.......hey! go check out my cover!

(really, please do. i need people to watch it.)

  • Got hooked on this band when mikanos came out. have been a fan for over 4 years now, Im just new to YT, have been over at mixpod for the last 2 years.

  • Norwegian Wood?

  • @FieldHockey007 haha those nancy faggots ripped that off from dylan too! bob dylan 4th time around, check it out. open your eyes and get wise.

  • @niggerlips11 4th time around was released after norwegian wood.

  • @niggerlips11 4th time around was released after norwegian wood.

  • @whilak Was released afterwards and made Lennon very paranoid!

  • @niggerlips11 Fourth Time around was released on Blonde on Blonde, circa 1966. Norwegian Wood in 1965. It's hard to come off as an expert preaching for people to get their facts straight when you're making an error any true fan would know.

  • @BigTuna1994 u know when u say circa 1966 u could well be saying it was released in 1964,65,66,67,68,69..haha. And knowing dylan I wouldnt discard the possibility that he'd already written fourth time around and had already performed it for himself. but that's probably not likely in this case.

  • atemporal. Para ayer, hoy, siempre

  • i just love finding those bands where you cant find a single song you dont like, this is one of them

  • AWESOME!!! my friend saw them on the street in paris and he is a really good musician and he gave them his cd and they gave him tickets to their concert and backstage passes and now they are friends

  • @freketulsky121 Cool story, bro.

  • me gusta

  • i accidently disliked this. i wanna punch myself.

  • @bossy4sho i was just about to comment on that haha

  • @bossy4sho hit yourself harder

  • I have no clue why, but I think of the group America whenever I hear this song. (That's a compliment.)

  • Reminds me of a folk of the progressive group Nektar.

  • @rjfc1955a oh my god I love Nektar!!!!!!!

  • this song makes me feel like i've been walking through a forest and then happened upon a beehive full of honey. i eat some honey and chew on the wax, then i take a nap and have a dream which includes all the best moments of my life.... in summary, this song is epicly magical and beautiful

  • comfort and joy!

  • love them!!

  • And the beginning is also very similar to Waltz#2 by Elliott Smith...another immense song!

  • @ amer.per.- yeah

  • ...all the title makes me think of is Pokemon.

  • Chords anyone?

  • I hate to say it, but as much as I love fleet foxes, I have still yet to find a song on this album that has effected me in the way all their previous work has. Instrumentally, Instead of being simple like the life of a monk, it's more like simple like the life of an infant, it doesn't have the same depth to it that it used to, same with the harmonies, they don't just reach into your soul the way the previous stuff did. It sounds like another band trying to sound like Fleet Foxes

  • @IvonoftheGWF GTFO Bruce Dickenson! Everybody needs to evolve. This is what monks listen to these days.

  • @herbap0tamuss Yeah, I'm waiting to find that evolution, because right now it looks as though the process has gone in reverse on this album. Instead of taking what they've done up to this point and doing it better, they're just trying to immitate what they've done, or immitate other people. And chances are, monks are probably still listening to the Sun Giants EP.

  • @IvonoftheGWF

    Obviously you missed the point.

  • Put in Back in Judy's Jungle by Brian Eno and 4th time around by Bob Dylan (like nicholas said down there), and this pretty much sounds just like them.

  • And I'll add I love all 3.

  • I came here to see if anyone else noticed the similarity to 4th Time Around.. which allegedly ripped off Norwegian Wood.

  • @nicholasryanlutsko

It may seem like a rip of a rip but, "the the cave-man did some amazing things, and nobody here gives a fuck." Vandals

  • They chose a perfect time of year to release the new album... it resonates with the sounds of spring. Very refreshing music

  • Their music (Robin's music) sounds at once anchored in folk music and yet as fresh as spring. I've heard the new album once and I love it but it hasn't resonated like Mykonos or Blue ridge mountains yet.

  • THE best band making records today!!

  • Comment removed

  • This song reminds me of 4th Time around by Bob Dylan.....both immense songs

  • @ThatGadley yeah my thoughts on first listen as well ,,very similar rhythm and lilting melody ..not sure if there's a copyright issue,,, Bob hopefully would be pleased that a great young band are being influenced by his classics from 45 years ago ,,,shit is it really that long ago ???i'm getting old ..

  • @mugwamp4 yeah music from 45 years is still good now, sometimes better then mainstream crud on the radio

  • @stalkingcat123 yeah,, the sesame street albums from the 70's are better than the mainstream crap today .. I've listened to this song in more depth since my last post and it is just brilliant,, just as dylan parodied Norwegian Wood in "4th time" this song parodies 4th time and has its own little twist all 3 songs are classics,

  • @mugwamp4 yeah their music is so awesome waking up to fleet foxes in the morning helplessless blues album on the alarm, problem is the music is so lovely i just lay their and listen to it untill the alarm give up lol

  • @stalkingcat123 ..I've put myself on forced abstinence for a week or so i dont O.D on both albums ..but i just cant get those songs out of my head, its driving me nuts .though in a pleasant way ..how do you get the album on your alarm??is it connected to an ipod?? I'm an old fart who still buys vinyl,,so i wouldnt know.

  • @mugwamp4 yeah i had to get my younger sister to help me put it on a cd from her itunes program she's good with comps and technology

  • @ThatGadley exact same, even the way they both start singing, how lazy and nonchalant they sound. dylans lyrics are still better.

  • @ThatGadley it does! they are heavily influenced by bobby d.

  • AHALL NEWEWS TOWOO YOHOO THEN. So classy, love it!

  • Warms my cold heart.

  • so great so right

  • Amazing! From the music to the album cover - i really dig it!

  • just curious... but how did you get this before its release?? I know the song Helplessness Blues was up on their site but was this true for all of them?

  • Yeah I'll definitely buy it! It's a wonderfully magic masterpiece. And the album cover... Amazing stuff.

  • Heaven sent.

    Deliriously magical.

    Beautiful.

    Uplifting.

  • Fabulous album.I´m buying it for sure!!!

  • This song is played on the strings of my happy heart.

  • holy what is the what whooooo
