  • Poor mind raped children. They probably went on to poison their own children with these falsehoods. The beneficiary of this mind rape as the men in black who spread the mind rape but are after the actual rape of the poor children. History don't lie. Religion is evil.

  • How original, sounds like someone has read the 'god delusion' and thinks they have something important and substantial to say in the face of 2000 years of philosophy and theology. You don't realise it, but you're the modern day sheep, you're the one who is going along with the crowd. Christians, particularly Catholics are the most persecuted religion in the world, have you left many hate filled comments on Islamic videos? Bet not. Why don;t you research child abuse among Anglicans etc.

  • i met the actual daughter of the women who did this animation--and i actually met her on youtube watchin this animation. this is beautiful, one of the reasons why i'm a proud animator.

  • Love the fact that the kids came to school in an old vintage VW bus!

  • im atheist and i cant help but say d'awwww

  • awww

  • @davedduchene It was recorded in the late 1960's in Rutland National Primary School in inner Dublin city. Religion is a compulsory part of all Irish children's primary education. TV crews were planning to make a show out of the stories in the 60s but the recording were just stored in a library until the Irish Film Board discovered them at the turn of the century and they were animated and released in 2002

  • ..when was this recorded, does anybody know? The children demonstrate a far greater literacy and love in the account of the Lord Jesus and His crucifixion than children in today's schools. Perhaps it's a Sunday School class?

  • I'm an atheist and I grew up in Ireland as a Catholic so I'm more than familiar with these stories. Whats beautiful about this is the innocense of the kids and how they feel sad when Jesus dies. Jesus was cool, its christians that have fucked up his teachings and turned them hateful.

  • Reminds me when I first heard of the story of Jesus.

  • As an atheist, I can honestly say that these are adorable. I don't get a lot of these negative comments screaming 'PROPAGANDA'. I never once thought that while watching these cartoons.. I was questioning Jesus' character design though XD

  • everytime ive watched these over the years they always make me smile :) i think mary is my favourite

  • Comment removed

  • In actual fact this was recorded on a tape by the teacher years before it was discovered. I remember well hearing it ! It was launched years later on audio tape. Ths cartoon was added. The 'teacher ' is dubbed here. There were no adult voices in the original audio recording. The beauty of it is it's simplicity - how they saw the bible stories in their little mind's eye. To suggest it's a distortion of what happened is ludicrous! It's just a nostalgic look at more innocent and simpler times.

  • I felt sad when it got to the parts where jesus was going to die, or be hurt or something, and they started clamming up like they were sad or something.... Cute tho.

  • @wishyduhh well that was unnecessary

  • @wishyduhh I pity you who or whatever you are!

  • Comment removed

  • I can't understand what they are saying but I love their cute voices :)

  • what the hell pilate hardly had anything to do with it he just did what the jews said to do they voted and the vote that won was to kill him so the romans just went with it

  • In my oppinnion, all stories from all religions should be told to every one. this would be so great being shown to other religions, and short animations of other religions would be shown to christians. that way, there wouldent be so much missunderstanding and people would at least SOMEWHAT try to understand other religions... Or something like that XDD

  • i'm jewish, and although I strongly disagreee, the kids are still cute as buttons.

  • wow......i know this is a cartoon but i closed my eyes and just listened...

    and cried.

i imagined what the world might be like today if all our children could stand up and recite the events in the life of our Lord that way...

i think it would be a very different place.

  • @aLLeyesOnJesus

    I don't

  • Brown Bag Films did good, from their 1960s interpretation of the Holy Bible. The 1960s was when America stopped teaching Christ in the schools over a Supreme Court decision, and we have a very different people now; in the Supreme Court tours--in Washington D.C.--they now name it a protest, demonstration, or something to pray to God and you have to leave among all of that godly artwork with the Ten Commandments.

  • He he he, what the fuck are we teaching our kids?

  • "Forgive them, Father, they don't know what they're doing." Priceless!!

  • quisiera encontrar estos videos con sub en inglés!!!

  • This is adorable, and the animation/drawing style is fantastic, where can I find more things by this artist?

  • 'What they consider to be historical facts' - haha! You muppet, they are facts, historically recorded by numerous roman historians of the time. This is not indoctrination. When these kids grow up, they'll make up their own mind what it all means, like we all must.

  • Could everyone fuck off with their arrogant intellegensia bullshit and enjoy the film for what it is ...nostalgia and innocence

  • You are so wrong. I had atheism rammed down my throat as a child. I went through fourteen years of state education and not one single teacher would give me a straight answer about how I could have a relationship with God. The world is full of millions of little children who want to know Jesus, but atheist Nazis like you are trying to stop them, just to salve your own conscience, because you don't like to hear rebuke from the mouth of a child. Repent or you will pay dearly.

    Matt 18:1-6, 19:13-14

  • Jesus Christ has returned. I AM.

  • Fantastic!

  • these kids are wonderful, back in Dublin in the 60s,, good on them.. the message is still the same , God offers salvation on them that call upon Him in faith( Acts 2: 21 ) shall be saved

  • No, the message shows how wonderful kids are, even when they 'botch' a story they are cute. Religion has little to do w/ this series.

  • if religion had very little to do with it, they could have done fairy tales...

  • what school was this and what year

  • This was children from Rutland Street School, inner city Dublin. Not sure what year, maybe mid 60's.

  • "And that look turned him into a saint... and his two families too...." Awk, God love her lol.

  • how is this animated?

    what program?

  • My personal faith or lack of is not relevant. I'd show these cartoons to Christians, atheists, Jewish, anyone. This is not a religious statement. This is happy children, excited to be on television, telling these stories that just so happen to be Bible stories.

This is warm and innocent and a good thing.

  • @OreWaUsopp : Yeah. I3 I find this so innocent and cute.

  • @rila

Yup. Glad you agree. All the people screaming PROPAGANDA really cheesed me off. Neither the children nor the animator conspired to spread the word of god to the nonbelievers, or whatever when they made this. The animator found heartwarming footage and decided to share it in a unique and fun way. This isn't brainwashing, this is harmless cute stuff.

  • Mary's the best!

  • they are nice stories ( never mind it's about religion) told by children. the girls in the cartoon are cute especially Mary.

  • take him away and scorch him

  • i love these storys and the way the kids tell them my mam went to that same school

  • I find it so sad to read some of these comments. I guess it's true that nowadays people are to uptight about everything. Can no one just enjoy these videos for what they are? The lovely, innocent stories told by children. They're nostalgic! Why must people get so angry and insulted by something that wasn't meant to be brain-washing or overly religious. And people should stop spouting ignorant bull-shit on youtube! If you think you're a philosopher, do yourself a favor and write a fucking book!

  • Agreed, I like them because the kids are cute, and its neat to see these familiar stories told through their words. The religious content of the stories is irrelevant, its just a vehicle for the charming voice of the kids and the beautiful animation.

  • i likw it when mary just says it but it is still really good

  • Thank you very much for sharing this with us. Created by a true artist. Bless you.

  • Great animations. I have really enjoyed this series :)

  • yes thomasmturner you know everything dont you..we should listen to you instead of these children cuz you got all the evidence right...dumbass!

  • The animation's a bit silly for me.

But I love the kids. They REALLY knew their

    Bible stories ! Cute.

  • interesting story, but still just a story!

  • Isn't there a historian account of his execution by roman historian who claims Jesus was a magician?

  • this man name was barr-jesus and he was a magician but lots of people were named jesus in that time as well as now

  • Jesus said, "Unless you become like little children, you shall not enter the kingdom of heaven." How I wish that the cynicism of the world had not seized me.

  • This brings tears to my eyes.

  • I love that Jesus looks like Shaggy from Scooby Doo!

  • I love this! I had a bit of a hard time understanding the children, but it was wonderful! I love the animation

  • The details are fantastic considering the age of the kids. I could never have remembered it so well when I was 6 or so.

Watching these has made my day. They're lovely.

  • It's a pretty good series albeit very short. the animation is pretty good, but they could have drawn the characters, especially Jesus, a bit better.

Also, why are a bunch of you here going mad saying there is or isn't a God. It's a vid, like or dislike it, leave it at that.

  • wud yez all juz shuddup!!

itz a SHORT animated movie ROUGHLY describin the gospels and dats y they didnt cover evrythin!

yez are all havin a mad debate over a film wen it was made fer entertainment and so lil kidz cud learn bout the bible so

juz shuddup coz itz really annoyin!

  • Hahahaha. Spot on man...... Bleedin' muppets

  • well put IRAmaxwellIRA

  • Why does this account of the Gospel particularly omit the bribery and betrayal kiss of Judas?

Yet another example of how the "entertainment business" tries to place blame for His crucifixion entirely on the Romans, while downplaying this fact: Our Lord said to Pilate (John 19:11): 'He that hath delivered me to thee, hath the greater sin.'

    Amen.

  • Oh, see Tacitus, by the way, for reference to Jesus in Roman history.

  • themcool88 - There is no point in quoting Tacitus. He wrote his Annals in circa AD 110. Way older than the gospels which most were written 60-80 AD and Paul's letters in 20-30 AD. Also his referrence is realy just detailing Nero's persecution of early Christians. Its not like he knew Jesus or saw him.

  • Tacitus was simply referring to what he had heard the Christians say.

  • Ahhh....to have no one to be accountable to for my actions - the ultimate freedom! To make my own morality while I'm alive and just 'disappear' after death.....Of course, that means Mao and Hitler are just as free to be unaccountable too....Ah, the bliss of atheism! I guess that's why atheism has created so much that's great in the world, the great art, the benevolent societies like Soviet Russia, while Chr has only western civilization to show for itself.

  • Which great arts do you mean?

  • The gospel has been the inspiration for so much of Europe's art, when it still made "art", which Your Humble Servant would define as a concrete representation of an uplifting idea. Examples might be Notre Dame cathedral, Michaelangelo's Pieta, Bach's mass in B minor and his St. Matthew's Passion, Davinci's Last Supper, Adoration of the Magi, thousands of Orthodox icons, stuff like that.

  • I know the gospel has I was replying to the poster who said athesim ispired all great art. I can't think of a whole lot of great art inspired by athesim but plunty based on the gospels.

  • Da Vinci was an atheist? He painted the last supper with Jesus with a halo but radiant light. The painting doesn't look like a painted by atheist who questioned Jesus claim to divinity.

  • I didn't say he was. Re-read my comments.

  • But it's a whole lot easier to hide one's head in the sand - then one can continue to drift along in the shallows and be accountable to no one.....

  • themcool88 - Actually it is easier to live ones life in a comfortable delusion than to face the harsh reality of life that there is no god to take care of you. That there is no afterlife so when you die as you just cease to exist. Your time here and now is all you have. Yes religion is ignorance. A comforting ignorance at that.

  • Don't make the mistake of equating Christianity with ignorance and agnosticism with education. The facts, too many to go into here, mostly point to Jesus being exactly who his early followers said he was (and died rather than deny it). Who would do that for something they knew was a lie? It was enough to impress all the greatest minds of Euro-civilization, yes, including Galileo and Isaac Newton.

  • i think the vids a re fantastic especially after what readeca said earlier.

well made videos on witty narrative by kids and their misinterpretation on the good books. but then, isn't that the case throughout the world. if only more people were less serious and less judgemental...

  • cracker viewing

  • I am going biblical here haha

    Philippians 2:1-8

    Its all about love!

  • Did He reign down justice on the vile, the vindictive, and violent and by bringing justice does that make Him those things? Did He do things to those who did not deserve it? What about His love, mercy, and grace? What about Satan, does he not play a role? He is jealous, jealous for me, jealous for everyone because He loves us. He gave up his only son Jesus for everyone, and all we have to do is go yes! I want it! I know you are God!

  • You describe a very powerless and dysfunctional God.

  • No, I don't agree. God is love, and yes we hear that all the time and it sounds corny to us but its not a cheap surface, oh I love you type of love, but it is a deep love and the most true love there is. Love is powerful. God is love. Ergo God is power. But what is power without the strength to control it. God doesn't just reign down terror on us. He certainly has the power to do whatever he wants, but in his perfect strength and power he chooses to love and care for us. That is true power.

  • That's just your beliefs and projections about God. Anything anyone says about God is in essence erroneous and wrong. One cannot make such definite pronouncements about something one cannot begin to grasp, something so much bigger than ourselves. Belief is admission of ignorance. Agnosticism is the only honest way.

  • Okay-- that is your beliefs and projections about God. Its okay that we do not agree, but good discussion.

  • I have neither beliefs nor projections about God. I have the intellectual and spiritual honesty to admit that I don't know, and I know that neither does anyone else.

  • You offer an interesting argument-- you have gotten me thinking, however I believe that God goes beyond intellect.

  • why do we have to believe in someone who died 2008(aprox) years ago?

whose God any way? invention of the society?mm perhaps? Do we really need a God just to achieve happyness?

Do human beings know how to life? if we didnt create our own life and we dont know anything about it just our own expierences

do you think Vierotchka that dont knowin it means everyone niehter does it? if you havent lifed the expierence of others just yours and you talk bout what you have lifed and achieve

  • Believing is, by definition, not knowing but choosing to believe to make things simpler and easier. The honest approach is admitting that one doesn't know.

  • the religeous phenomenon is empiricaly metaphysical, but the idea of GOD is naturally racional

  • Au contraire, the idea of God is fully irrational.

  • Those kids' voices are so cute! :)

    ~pepper

  • The school around the corner is just the same

  • pyromaniac. Thats true. But it is very cruel to put it this way. atheism has no hope for afterlife, a finite existence that inevitebly disappears in uncaring universe. Faith gives comfort. Taking it away from people is wrong. ( I am an atheist and unhappy about it)

  • Heartgobbler - So to ensure comfort its ok to spread lies to everyone you can with religion about the afterlife. You know what was taken from me as a child, reality. Told I was going to a heaven which doesn't exist. Thats sick to do that to a child and let them grow up believing it until one day they figure that it was all just a bunch of stupid stories. If reality hurts then too bad because the continuing lies do too.

  • Well it is unfortunate that you think that way. look at it like this. If I am wrong about Jesus I have lost nothing and lived a better life for it, but if you are wrong.... You have nothing to loose by trusting God and EVERYTHING to gain. Ask Jesus to come into your heart and see what happens in your life :)

God loves you, even if you do not believe it.

  • I do not feel lied to, at all. I am an adult who has chosen to believe in Him. There is ultimate truth, beyond man made religion, beyond church, beyond all of these rules and regulations. I am free in Christ, not tied down. If God is a sadist, then you can't say you truly know Him, if you think God hates then you truly don't know Him. Whether you choose to beileve in Him or not is entirely your choice, I am all for it.

  • You seem genuine. But' I think that if you actually read the Bible and think about the Yahweh character you'd see that he is vile, vindictive, violent, and jealous.

  • Its impossible to know something that doesn't exist, we all were lied to, one generation after another by people who think its real. None of it is real. Its just clever stories, some not so clever. Whatever people think they feel is just an illusion of the mind that they've come to believe and built around themselves. People can tell themseleves its real 100% but it just isn't at all. A few can live with that knowledge that its important just to be here alive now and rejoice in that fact.

  • i believe that jesus was like a cult member that led an uprising against the romans and so forth. his lies wrapped around the hebrews and led an uprising. its that simple. stories change with time and as with who is telling the story. even red riding hood. there are so many different versions suiting whose telling the story. its baffling that one story could become a religion.

  • Yeah Roman soldier, hit Jesus harder! lol

  • God is love. The bible speaks more of God's love then anything else. Its a free gift, why wouldn't you want it. There is peace, true peace with the Lord. But if you don't agree its okay. Jesus came not to condem the world, but to save it! Its awesome-- and that is in the Bible John 3:17.

  • ladifrickinda07 - Simple, because none of it is real.

  • all of the girls sound the same, lol

  • It's called an accent.

  • no way, they still sound alike assface

  • its a youtube video of children telling stories. why are you people arguing if god is real. get lives.

  • the bible was mostly written by people who said they have spoken to god

and what do we call people who say they speak to god in this generation

    we call them crazy

  • Sure, he may have existed. Maybe even survived the cross. But to seriously believe that he took away all our sins is pretty far fetched, don't you think? I mean, is there evidence of THAT?

A book? I've already read a book called "The Holy Bible" which convinced me that despite the "fact" that Jesus "took away" all my sins I still have a 99% chance of burning in Hell for all eternity. You have too. So run to your church quickly and pray so that God may forgive you. Though I wouldn't count on it.

  • By the way, not all of the bible is literally true, it has been translated through many languages very loosely. A message I belive it tells is that you can live a life that benefits you and others, not just you and your own.

  • so in short...hes a zombie?

christianity would be so much cooler if you would advertize that fact more often.

  • not taking sides in the theological debate (that's always a waste of breath)

    BUT kibbleofdoom... BEST comment EVAH!!!

    :)))))))

  • well to all the people complainin about this. no1 ever has bad dreams about the bible. it just doesnt happen! i have 3 brothers and non of them wake up and say they had a nightmare and they were in hell or something... believe in God, better safe than sorry

  • Hotora86 you gobshite!!

    God Bless Dublin City...

  • Freaky.

I think I won't be able to sleep tonight.

  • isn't it cute how she is picking her nose when she is speaking of the guy who was a sinner, how can someone (person below) say how can we teach kids about torture! How is teaching the kids the BIBLE stories torture? NOT TEACHING THEM would be what is this world coming too! History, Fact, and most of all LOVE is what we should always be teaching these children OUR CHILDREN! learning is should not be torture its KNOWLEDGE. I want my children to be smarter than me :)

  • this is InHuman!!!!!! how can you teach kids about torture and suffering and put fear in there hearts at such a young age! WHAT is THIS WORLD COMING TOOO! am i the only one who can see? Am I the only one who is sane? No wounder this world is coming to an end!

  • It isn't inhuman, children must realise what Jesus went through to see just how loving he was, how far he would go to save us from sin.

It is love being taught, would you rather it be yur way, kids growing up to be criminals, no knowledge of God? Being taught Christianity does not teach how to torture or kill, but how that is wrong and how live your life in a good way.

  • Teaching people that some "Jesus" died FOR THEM is like placing responsibility for his death on them. He died FOR YOU - so you MUST praise him. And if you don't we'll teach you THE RIGHT WAY.

Example: If I strapped dynamite to myself, said "this is for Joe, I love him!" and blew myself up, how would you feel? Same thing with Jesus.

Also, the Bible itself is a brutal, scary, mind-twisting book. It gives children nightmares about Sodom and Gomorrah and other bloodbaths from the Old Testament.

  • You are so right, this stuff is brainwashing pure and simple.

  • Brainwashing it may be, but don't worry, it was forty or fifty years ago. Ireland has changed.

  • yeah it has i dont know half the shite there takling about jus watching cause me nana is in it

  • Jesus didn't die for forcing belief in him and his God! He rose & proved that nothing is impossible for one who has faith. He wanted to show that there is something to hope for, another life in which you may live in happiness and love, but it is not a task to get there- unless you crave evil. Do you? And the Bible may get a little harsh at times, but you don't have to tell a 5-year old! Just alter it a little so it has the same message- explain the original when they will understand it.

  • Jesus: "Believe in me/God or you will be tortured in hell for all eternity."

No forcing there, none at all.

"nothing is impossible for one who has faith". Shall we prepare YOUR crucifixion then? Or do you lack faith?

"Just alter it a little so it has the same message" - that's what Christians been doing for over 2000 years now. And I bet that's exactly what they said right before starting the Crusades, the Holy Inquisition or supporting Nazi Germany.

And you think it is STILL the "Word of God"?

  • but don't you think its disingenuous to tell kids a pick and choose version just to make it morally reprehensible ??

  • dude, the voice recordings are from the 1960s... its not taught like this over in ireland anymore

  • Hmm...I never really thought of Pontius as a bad person. I mean, he pretty much did the right thing (if you look at it from a non-Christian perspective, as he was, since he wasn't a Christian). He didn't want to kill Jesus, but he knew he had to let the Jews decide.

  • Sometimes I cant understand them since they're so little... xD

  • huh... I suppose it's sad that I'm only watching this because of the adorable little accents...

  • It's pretty easy for young kids to retain knowledge. If you feed them bible stories day in and day out, it's going to get stuck in their heads. Hopefully they actually learned things in school and not just stories...

Anyway, this is a very interesting series.

  • hahaii,,, i really like your language...

    how i wish i could learn that....hyhyhyhy...

  • Wow! Im actually learning something!... these kids know a lot for being so young. I was taught about Christianity all my life and they know a LOT MORE than i do. What school are they recording at? Is that the real teacher's voice? This is really neat! Kudos! =)

  • Yes, these are pretty comical considering the format but, these kids are serious in their knowledge of the truth. They will understand with greater knowledge later on. These recordings are from the 60s in Ireland. Click on the (more info) at the top right.

  • What do you mean "knowledge of the truth"???? They may have knowledge of the bible, but don't go attributing truth to the that collection of made up stories.

    Great series all the same!

  • Mat 18:2 And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,

Mat 18:3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except you be converted, and become as little children (trusting in Him completely), you shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Mat 18:4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Mat 18:5 And whoso shall receive one such little child in My name receives me.

  • For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

    1 Corinthians 1:18

  • So what!

  • Great job

  • i think it's charming that people are inquisitive about a religion other than their own. it's better than being stuck in your own world trying to convince yourself that different kinds of people dont exist. were all different and theres no problem with learning about eachother, in fact it's respectful.and this is a really original way to do it. and please stop talking about the children. im a child of 12 and i can think for myself, i know i dont have to just believe everything they tell me.

  • wow you're awesome i was just like that at that age, maybe not that smart. Many kudos to you

  • thank you! i just can't stand that people are so close minded and anything different from themselves scares them into hatred. i'm not taught about religion at home or school, and i learned from this and i'm glad i know because i know all about my religion, why not learn about others'?

  • The poor children subjected to this in the classroom. I hope schools don't push this sort of rubbish anymore.

  • what is that suppose to mean? that this is all lies? I'm no christian or any thing but do you not believe in any of this?

  • Thats right, I don't believe any of it.

  • i find it hard enough to think that sane rational adults think that young school girls retelling the story of wrongful and ignorantly misguided human sacrifice and torture think its just cute as a bug.

much less the rest of the crazy shit they are talking about.

  • sorry the story of jesus death is recorded in ancient roman scriptures its got nothing to do with religion!!!!!(the rest does tho!)

  • mazza20007 - Actually it wasn't, there is no record at all of Jesus living or dying in Roman records. The Jewish historian Josephus made a reference to a Jesus but his documents were rewritten and 'made right' by Constantine's bishops. Scholars disregard it now because it was altered. Any other documents were from ancient rival Christian churches that didn't survive. You should learn about early Christianity its fascinating how all the the rival Christian groups had different gospels and views.

  • The passage about Jesus in Josephus was proven to be a forgery added a very long time after Josephus died.

  • Nice revisionist history. Guess what kids - George Washington was really a neo-nazi Martian. OOOOh OK teacher. Do you hear taps playing? It is the death of truth.

  • It is not revisionist history, as anyone familiar with history and Josephus will confirm. Your response is ludicrous, at best.

  • "Festus was now dead, and Albinus was but upon the road; so he assembled the sanhedrin of judges, and brought before them the brother of Jesus, who was called Christ, whose name was James, and some others;"

  • The majority of scholars(still despite rabid wide-eyed baseless attacks) fall into the the two categories that validate he did wrote about Jesus.

  • scholarly opinion can be divided into three camps: those who accept the entire passage as authentic; those who reject the entire passage as a Christian interpolation into the text (perhaps authored by the fourth-century church historian Eusebius); and those who believe that the original text contained an authentic reference to Jesus but was later embellished by Christian copyists.

  • Since the handwriting, the style and the language in that passage were markedly different from the rest of the document, there is no doubt that Josephus never wrote it.

  • I apologise for my lack of understanding, however could you pease share with me the discussion taken place with you and Vierotchka as you would to a 10 year old.

  • NICE!

  • At last the real story is revealed, thanks :)

  • la elah ela allah
