Appart from the fact that the WW2 airborne are american soldiers and that the 1 st recon marine are soldiers there is NOTHING IN COMMON between those 2 wars...

it doesn't justify Irak war because they don't have anything in common...

You don't have to make a comparison with WW2 to make these guys heroes, they already are heroes. In a different way than WW2 heroes but heroes nontheless and adding them to something we know is noble and glorious ( WW2 ) won't make any difference.

@Heartlessjim1990 i think that anytime an american soldier sets foot on any foreign soil it's for a noble and glorious cause, because in every case it's always been for the better of man kind. this war doesn't need to be anymore justified than it is now. the united states was under attack and iraq posed a threat. these men do have something in common, they invaded corrupt and oppressed nations, liberated people and spread freedom. what's not glorious about that?

@hippowithnoodles444 I respecfully disagree, these guys are heroes because they face war together and in fact they are fighting for something really noble. It's just that I have a problem to compare it to WW2, there are to many differencies in my opinion that are too important to be ignored.

Still I do understand the need to compare those two really different kind of soldiers in the fact that even if war changes every day it as always been the same at the same time.

I think it was Band of Brothers in Iraq... it had a bit of biased on the Officer Corps. and went out of its way to express the randomness of war, but it was the same type of show as Band of Brothers but for Iraq... I thought anyway.
