if you listen to the dvd commentary, Bob says in the scene where they lure the kid over to the bush and slit his throat, that in the script the monk passes by after.

The editor changed the order of it, so his throat is slit after the monk already rides by, so it's unnecessary at that point and therefore even funnier!

Don't get me wrong, the rest of the skit is great, but the first 45 seconds or so are so representative of how genius this show is. Just, you know, this little skit about monks that goes on for a while, and then out of nowhere, the summer camp contest, against the snobby rich camp, which is ALSO the fat camp, followed by that completely awesome fat kid showing up and Bob Odenkirk staring at him with more hate than I have ever before seen.
