Just bought a 2009 Legacy 2.5i Special Edition and it is amazing. Quick, comfortable, not as cramped as an impreza, and it hugs the curves and corners as well as a lot of more expensive mid-size sport sedans. Only downside is that the automatic transmission is garbage.
My Boyfriend has the 09' Subaru WRX Hatchback model and I had the most awful car in the world, a 99' VW New Beetle (BARF!) that car made me so fucking ill!!! Anyways, I've always wanted a Subaru ever since I sat in my boyfriend's WRX. I'm getting the 98' Legacy GT wagon! I can't wait...Yay, my first Subie! <3
Bloody hell, americans are still wanking over 4wd, guys 4wd is heavy, expensive to fix, thristy on fuel, and doesnt give as much responsive handling unless finely tuned, unless you have 700bhp or live in sweden, your just a cock to buy 4wd
@dilawer321 judging by your diction, you're either a Brit, an Aussie, or a Kiwi. Two of those three places aren't all that snowy or mountainous. Come on over and go for a drive in the north cascades next winter! See how fun 2wd is.
@call4myduty most fuel efficent 4wd is made by subaru? BUWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, fuck face their are golf tdi's and audi tdi's wich can manage upto 50mpg and even the bmw x3 2.0d can get upto 45+mpg, what the fuck are you talking about? a subaru can barely manage 25+ mpg and im talking about the most fuel efficient ones, are you on crack by any chance? or have you been watching too many subaru commercials? lmao
@call4myduty well shit stain you said most fuel efficient 4wd you never said petrol 4wd did you fuckin idiot, and even if the diesel does do 55mpg (wich i highly doubt) it is known to have shit performance, even a audi Q7 v12 tdi with 500bhp can do 25 mpg and that will rape a legacy. Anyways if you want to talk about petrol only then even the golf r with 270bhp can get around 30mpg and that is better then a 150bhp legacy petrol. So kiss my nuts
ohhhh really look i have a legacy it gets 31mpg and it raped a gti and my legacy is stock so suck my dick and go or stay in england with ur piece of shit cars
2-They are KNOWN for great handling. Don't know what the hell kind of Subarus you drive but I had a 1997 Legacy a short while back & it took corners like it made them.
3-They are only thirsty with a lead foot. I got 30+ mpg from my Legacy daily. Boxers are actually pretty efficient when it comes to delivering power/TQ.
4-Expensive? I don't think so. Not only are they NOT expensive, they are easy to maintain as well.
I've got an '07 Legacy. The '05 - '09 model was so much better looking than the redesigned 2010 model! I'd probably get a Ford Fusion Sport AWD today...
i like my 09 these are nice cars for the money great steering and handling on corners..not too big on the 2010 models styling but im sure there a great car too..
2010 model the one after this model i really dont like i like the frameless windows and the outside styling the new model i find isjust like a toyota camry and thats the market they want to get but its also lost alot of customers and gained alot of customers
its because theres alot more preasure on the front wheels when going into a corner esp when going down hill i have the same problem i need new tyres and its only been 6 months haha
Upstate NY here, Looking to buy one of these, as I think they are gorgeous first of all and the fact I have harsh winters and children I feel confident in going with the Legacy. Any years to avoid? I read Edmunds and see some complaints of shifting not being smooth. Any suggestions on ones to avoid?
love my 3.0R but theres one thing that bugs me, the paddle shifters are actually mounted to the steering column not the wheel so they don't turn with the wheel...this is only annoying when your on a nice curvy road having some fun.
i prefer stick shifting in winding roads because it makes me feel like im still doing the old traditional feel to it and its a lot more fun and work doing it than paddle shifting although they come with both options
Yes stick is what I used for spiritred runs. I only use steering wheels for passing cause you don't have to continue to shift after that. if you put the shifer over and don't touch it there is also a sport mode. It holds the gear in the corner instead up upshifting. If you got SI drive then you have more options with that. If you plan on doing turbo swaps go actual manual.
i just bought the 2009 subaru legaci 2.5i 5spd stick with leather interior and sunroof....it has 22 miles on the car rite now...its fuckn amazing.....

Let me guess. Outback or GT-> 2.5L, right? Those older 2.5Ls are the only ones that suffered the serious head gasket issues.

1-Subaru diesels net almost the same or more mpgs as Vw/Audi diesels, putting it in their catagory.
2-There are many Subarus out there (gas/petrol) getting 30+mpg. Anyone can get good gas mileage if they have feather feet, genius.
akabane1984 1 year ago
Holy shit, hating much?
1-Today's Subarus are AWD, NOT 4wd first off.
2-They are KNOWN for great handling. Don't know what the hell kind of Subarus you drive but I had a 1997 Legacy a short while back & it took corners like it made them.

This car drives comfortably on the day of rain.
It stabilizes and it runs even if one of tires pass the pool ball. It is possible to run safely on the road where sand collects.
The durability of the car of Subaru is overall high in Japan. I am a user of Legacy Wagon.
