i'm really confused i have every strokes song on my ipod- including When It Started but it is not this song. in the when it started i have, the chorus repeats 'new york city cops they aint too smart' so i thought When It Started was new york city cops but they changed it's title because of what was going on at the time. However now i'm clicking on when it started and a completely different song i've never heard is playing. Thanks from a confused die-hard strokes fan!!

i disagree. When it started is a great song and very underrated to be sure, but personally i like new york city cops better for its rougher sound i guess you'd say. This is a very chill song, new york city cops with the intro and the solo is more in your face. But everyone is entitled to their opinion. I just don't think it's right to say any one song is "better" than another, it's musical opinion.

The US cover that featured THIS song instead of NYCC, is the orange, with all the light blue lines and designs running through it. I eat Strokes for breakfast, and aldotaka is right on this one.
