Corrie-- I agree with Crob227 about the capacitor in series. My TP roll conversion tube does that.

can i tell yousomething else about a spark i bet you didnt know.
ok if you make a spark between the secondary of the ignition coil to the negitive.
ok you got that spark so now hook a capacitor in series , so it will be secongary-cap-spark gap-negitive...
any time there is a spark in the gap you will be charging the capactor.
now to figure a pulse circuit to use that energy.
