hey, DJ Simba, are you interested in a Vengeance pack? ir if you already have one, then never mind, but i know where you can get a free one, and they sound so good. reply if you want one! (this counts for anyone else who wants one as well.)
"I'll try and make a dubstep one, and it will probably not help anymore than this, so if you dont like it FUCK OFF, and stop asking me. Uhhh.....Bye."
Never lower your master out in your daw!!!! Lower the channels in your mixer. At the end your ME will love you for it and will make your track sound SICK!!! Turn it down not up.
it's very simple you already have all the tools. you should always start with a kick drum set to -10 volume and everything eq'd out under 70-90 hurtz/ Layer your kicks so that you get sound in every frequency range. use ahi hat set very low for the top of your kick. hope that helps.
subtractive eqing and side chain compression is your answer. your dirty bass should be sidechained by a signal coming from your bass drum. Never turn it up. you loose all the head room for other sounds. You can add mid range and treble by creating busses with parallel high and mid equing that you can tastefully add to the entire drum mix or synth mix.
This is the exact reason I didn't want to make a tutorial. I said in this commentary that I know my mixing habits aren't the best but this is not focused on that subject. So please, with all due respect, save it.
@DJSimbaOfficial i understand what you mean, I did the same thing too in my first month... Then I realized everything was really overpowering in my case, so I lowered the master and mixed everything really wild like.
I love how I do things almost exactly the same as you do :D And I feel like I do a better job of mixing than you, pushing the drums all the way up is not the solution man, you mix like hell, not just UP UP UP UP :p and ur drums really aren't every that high :3 You gotta balance things :p
@RemnantMusicOfficial I don't boost everything, I boost the drums slightly above everything else so they're hearable. I said in this commentary that I know it's not the most effective method but I'm still learning.

You don't turn things up, bro, you equalize each component so it all fits nicely together.

@RemnantMusicOfficial that's why there's a limiter
DJSimbaOfficial 1 month ago
@DJSimbaOfficial Well, yeah :p but that's not really there just so you can boost everything :3
Your stuff sounds amazing, I'm not complaining about how you do it, I'm just sayin it could be done better than shoving everything as high as it goes
