Believe me, I know it's fake. But I still can't figure out how Scott pulls off the Steiner Screwdriver and does not permanently cripple someone. I've watched multiple times and cannot decipher.
@slyder15 you people are fucked, watching this video you still dont understand it was wrestling like this that messed his body up completely. injury after injury for years. Steroids have nothing to do with causing the injuries hes had. So where do you people get this crazy idea? lol
yeah a very good collection of moves. it seems that when the steiners went to singles matches they kinda dwindled with talent being over shadowed by less talented wrestlers. Damn shame just a damn shame
In my opinion, The Steiner Brothers were the top dawgs of the tag team world! Rick was the bruiser and Scott was the technical, power brother! Sorry Road Warriors, but the Steiner Brothers kick ass!
This is a team which needs to go into the wwe Hall of Fame(even though it's a bit of a joke when you have guys like Drew carrey & Koko B. Ware in it), like other Nwa tag teams like The midnight express.
Some Tag teams in the Nwa like Steiners, LOD & Midnight Express where a bigger draw & more over than some of the single stars.
The Steiners were fantastic in the old NWA/WCW days, but from what I've read from other wrestlers' biographies, they work(ed) stiffer than a 16-year-old that swallowed a bottle of Viagra...
damn, scott was a fucking pro before all the roids rotted his brain. the steiner screwdriver is still one of the sicker moves in wrestling to this day.
This was the Steiner Bros. That I remember! Back then, they were so powerful and innovative and masters of the suplex! The Frankensteiner and the Steiner line, classic! Now Scott is a bloated steroid freak and Rick became an A-Hole! Go figure
Man you didn't show the Ferris wheel suplex off the top. I remember when I was a kid and the Steiners fought 2 jobbers, one by the name of Krusher Knopf. I'm not going to lie, when Rick did the suplex off the top turnbuckle to Knopf he flopped halfway across the ring. I thought i had witnessed murder
@shizeninho You're right on the money. Scott was an incredible performer. If not for his weak mic skills he would have been NWA champ in the early 90's. He became too musclebound and clumsy....lost his abilities.
@shizeninho Dude was insanely huge even back then lol. To be fair, when you're wrestling for as many years as he has, you're going to get sloppy over time.
That Release Dragon Suplex was vicious (I think Scott actually hurt the guy with it), The Steiner Screwdriver is another sick move, but the best of 'em all is the FRANKENSTEINER!!! I saw Scott use that move on the Dudley Boys in recent times, it was good to see it again after all these years, but it wasn't the same anymore now that Scott's approaching 50 and he's having health problem after health problem. But it's always good to see the FS regardless. No one did it better than him!
I appreciate watching the Steiners' classic matches because I would instantly mark out whenever Scott does a Frakensteiner or both brothers eliminate the competition via Doomsday Bulldog.
He did a couple in WCW, as well. The one you mentioned on Konnan(I don't count the other that Konnan took since it wasn't set up from the Suplex position), and an ultra sick on to Rage from the High Voltage tag team.
I seem to remember reading something about wanting Scott to use the Screwdriver as his finisher when he turned heel, but due to uncertainty over his opponents taking the move, the idea was scrapped.
@TheSuicidalDragon I remember him doing teh screwdriver to Vincent (Virgil) at least twice, and thinking "goddamn, he could've killed that dude".... was around the time of his heel turn in WCW
You know, I actually would place the Steiners above the Road Warriors as "greatest tag team". The RWs were popular, but to me, the Steiners were more of a "tag team", in that they used more tag team moves. Apart from the Doomsday Device and a few others, the RWs were like two singles wrestlers, while the Steiners were more in concert, with more double teams in their repertoire.
I don't quite understand all this bashing of Scott. yes, he's roided up to his nose and yes, now all his promos are blurry madman's screams but STILL he can pull off more funky things than Cena, HHH and Batista combined (at age 47 and after hundreds of injuries I must add). He'll probably retire in like 2-3 years and I, personally, will remember him for all his awesomeness, not his mess-ups.
Agreed. He'll never be as smooth as he used to be, but he's doing the best he can with what he has left in TNA. And his promos are so consistently funny that it's gotta be intentional.
well at least HHH was smart and married the bosses daughter, i mean that right there he knows he is going to have a job for life, but cena he sucked cock to get where he is
j/k I liked the Steiner's work in Japan. Truthfully, I kinda wish Scott didn't get so big, his agility was an awesome contrast to his strength. If Vader ever got smaller, same story. His size is an awesome contrast to his agility.
always loved the Steiners together, but apart they were lame (mostly cuz of Scott's roid use and lame character)... surprised you didn't have Scott's spinning belly to belly suplex. also, funny how there were so many Doomsday tag team moves back then....
Woahh, Scott use to be hella agile back in the day @_@ I remember that frankensteiner he did in TNA and i totally marked out lmao. I just wish he didnt go all up on roids =/
Man, it was hilarious watching Rick run around like a dog while Scott tried to hold him back. It's a shame Rick kinda faded away while Scott flourished.
Surprised you didn't add Scott's version of the fallaway slam, SD. You know, the one where he basically drops his opponent directly onto his own head? :P
SuicidalDragon I was reading the info about the Steiners & you said Rick won the WCW US Title.Help me remember because i remember when he was a tweener,he won the WCW World TV Title under the DFG gimmick
i always cringe when looking at the screwdriver. Amazing nobody has been injured. Maybe its my "mark" of an eye but i can't see how anybody can be cushioned and protected when taking that move!
how can scott comentate, he cant make it through a 2 minute mic sesion n he cant wrestle for shit now, but he cud be worse he cud be as bad as kevin nash
I know you would do these two eventually, one of the best Tag Teams of all time! I hate how much everyone shits on Scott Steiner, he really is a wrestling Legend.
