  • you know, the reading of "On Liberty" really does make this easier to watch

  • 3:18 to 3:24 Sums up the whole video.

  • exynexynyex.

  • 6:50 "fudge muffins!" Shut up. ololo

  • 6:50 HOLY SHIT! Someone else says "Fudge Muffins" OTHER THAN ME! But why did it have to be this guy...?

  • why does the guy whos playing suck so damn hard? cant even jump up vines :|

  • I like the part where he says SNES9X.

  • You know how if you keep repeating a word over and over again, it stops sounding like a word?

It seems to work in reverse, too. I want a definition for Eseneyexninex.

  • @KoyasuNoBara it could mean that this thing or situation is very repetitive and/or anoying.

ex: that guys video is very eseneyexninex

  • Utterances of "SNES9X" will haunt my dreams tonight.

  • @Pichu441 Maybe try watching the video or reading the description, I dunno.

  • Not only have I gotten enjoyment out of retsupurae, I also learned something!

  • My dear Slowbeef,

The only way that this video could be any better was if the SNES9x moments "save stated" your monologue, so that each time he loaded, you would have to return to that point in the reading. That's what it sounded like you were doing at first, but that could have been because of the rapidity of the SNES9x appearances.

Either way, this is ingenious and it's also from, like, four years ago, so don't sweat it. Maybe next time.

  • Im in that weird part of youtube again

  • Hi this is this random- SNES9X- co- SNES9X- MPANY- SNES9X- who l- SNES9X

  • Whenever the Let's Player's voice slips through, you can just taste the autism.

  • This is beautiful

  • Long life Raocow!

  • Why can't these guys be more like Raocow? Whatever opinion you have on him, at least he knows editing, has enough skill to not die every ten second and most important he ENJOYS HIMSELF. Quadraxis14? No skill, no cutting out dead moments and boring as fuck catchphrases. Without Slowbeef this video would be totally unwatchable.

  • @MadSurge To be fair, this is a 3 year old video.

  • @LtSarge I know, at least Quadraxis14 got better. I was talking more generally, since other people still play boring hacks and do the "scream incoherently" routine. Oh well

  • @MadSurge i don't understand where that wall of text was going

  • I liked the part where he says SNES9X.

  • I don't know why, but I watched every second of this video.

  • Everytime you hear SNES9X, take a shot!

  • @ColonelVile Impossible. Not enough time to grab a new shot. THere's only .5 seconds between most SNES9x

  • @LtSarge I have since learned this the hard way.

  • @LtSarge Line them up. On the entire bar. And in plastic shot holders. Throw the fuckers away once he starts machine-gunning the State buttons.

  • Me: yoshi, how many times mario died in this video? >.>

    Yoshi: OVER 9000! >:D

  • Which are known as political liberties or Snes9x

  • "Their power was regarded as necessary but also very dangerous"

What, the power of save states (and the abuse thereof)?

  • "fudge muffins"....."Shut up" LOL!

  • I am going to wet myself. Oh my god.

  • Hey SNES9X, did you kill Rita?

  • The whole nation's power concentrated in SNES9X.

  • warning this video contains Snes9X

  • Snes9X

  • "...from being preyed upon by SNES9X"

  • You keep not saying the E

  • @IArtGod He's saying it, it just all slurs together after a while

  • snes9x

  • u know this video reminded me of tha...SNES9X...nevermind

  • This video isn't too baSNES9X.

  • If there was a YouTube channel that featured mainly uploads of readings by Slowbeef and the occasional "Joy of Retsupurae" by Chip, I would probably subscribe to it. No matter how slow the uploads, I would probably come back a lot.

  • This video is on an article on ED.

    encyclope diadramatica . ch / Super_Nintendo

  • This video makes me glad we say "Snez" in the UK.

  • 03:19 "...to prevent the weaker members of the community from being preyed upon by SNES9X..."

    I lol'd

  • This is epic

  • sigh i could not tolerate watching the rest of this video. my head is in pain.

  • After seeing this, I feel smarter and dumber at the same time.

  • 1:16 "In a certain sex . . . sense."

  • @mario64guy ya

  • So my philosophy class is reading excerpts from "On Liberty" right now and I can't stop thinking about this video.

  • @severinmortensen

As is my political science class. Thanks for helping me on my test Slowbeef

  • Ah, the infinite kaizo monkey theorem. Given enough time and save states, a monkey at a keyboard would eventually beat Kaizo Mario. Both of them.

  • I liked the part where he said Snex9X

  • i dont think he said snes9x.....

  • I was just counting the seconds until you started ranting, how the hell did you last as long as you did?

  • I'm editing out all of the SNES9X from this. As of halfway through the video, I've edited out over 2 minutes of audio.

  • I'd love to hear Slowbeef do a reading without the tic.

  • @Goodguy33 Look at the video response.

  • I remember watching this video 3 years ago, and even to this day, I find it painful to watch by how repetitive and sloSNES9X

  • I liked the part where he said "SNES9X".

  • On Liberty by John Stuart Mill, 1869

  • You guys aren't getting the point of this video. Let me elaborate:

The struggle between Liberty and Authority is the most conspicuous feature in the portions of history with which we are earliest familiar. But in old times this contest was between subjects, or some classes of subjects, and the Government. By liberty, was meant protection against the tyranny of the political rulers. The rulers were conceived as in a necessarily antagonistic position to the people whom they ruled.

  • snes9x

  • necessarily distributed SNES9X

  • SNES9X

  • This was, in all honesty painful to watch.

I think I may have lost some sanity here and there, and somehow torn a muscle in my leg just sitting through this.

  • I think you only got to read page 1.

  • World's hardest drinking game: taking a shot every time Slowbeef says "Snes9x."

  • quady didn't exactly enjoy this playthrough you know. He even deleted all the videos he had on it.its proof he hated kaizo

  • when he says "Fudgemuffins!" You said "SNES9X" 88 times.

When you start your rant, you said it 104 times.

You get back on track after the 122nd time.

In the end, you said "SNES9x 157 times.

  • @heroshadow42 WHY WOULD YOU COUNT THIHIHIIIIIS

  • @Esupanitix Because someone had the time to count how many times Armake21 said fuck from his Total Recall review to his Bomberman Act Zero Review.

  • @heroshadow42 Who? Are you implying that I did so?

  • @Esupanitix No, I decided to check, and it was Threeballer97, and the video is the Fucking Works of Armake21. The end shows how many times "Fuck" was said.

  • @heroshadow42 How did you count that?

  • @vsnlps Pencil/paper. Every time Slowbeef said "SNES9x", I add a slash mark.

  • @heroshadow42 To follow up on this, the video is 643 seconds long, meaning, on average, he says "SNES9X" ever 4 seconds.

  • How do you save? There's no simple File Save and Load.

  • I wish Slowbeef would read stories to me when I sleep.

  • I'm actually using this video to help me study John Stuart Mill

  • ill admit ive never done lps but doesnt it make sense to do a game without quicksaves in the level? i mean doing a save state before the level would be ok or in a save room or something but this doesnt show me its possible or make me want to beat this game without save states

  • I don't see how that guy is helping the player. It's funny but distracting

  • @KORuthless He's not, Slowbeef is just reading On Liberty. While pausing to say "SNES9X" every time a save/load state goes off, purely because it's a joke from another video, and because the emulator advertises itself every time you save or load a state.

Therefore, Slowbeef barely gets through 3 paragraphs at the end, and it's funny how many states this LPer abuses to get through one level.

  • @KORuthless It's mainly meant to emphasize the incredibly ridiculous save-state abuse, the distracting presentation of the emulator, and most of all, how both absolutely obliterate the flow of this LP. Slowbeef says "SNES9X" while reading not only to bring attention to the amount of save-loads, but also to show how much it ruins the flow of the piece he is reading, which of course translates to the effects it has on the LP.

  • It's kaizo... You need to use savestates, but you need a much better emulator than this guy has... Like the zsnes...

  • @spiderfred1 Don't blame the emulator; SNES9x does *not* have to be used this way. You don't have to go to that screen to save/load state.

  • There's nothing wrong with savestates, so long as you don't use them as much as this jackass; As that video was incredibly boring. At the very least, practice a bit more before making the video. I was getting dizzy looking at that SNES9x screen and the game back and forth every second.

  • I almost understand abusing save states in an impossible hack game, but to RECORD abusing save states in an impossible hack game I do not understand.

  • @blkplaguelmc HERPTERPTERPPERP//lparchive.ORPRERPGERG/Kaizo-Mario-World/ watch and come back with a different opinion.

  • @IXIFatTonyIXI What some fuckin geek beating it with no save states?? Only opinion that's gonna change is my opinion of how pathetic that persons life must be.

  • @blkplaguelmc What some fucking cunt replying with no idea what that was about?? Only thing this comment did is show me how pathetic your mind must be.

No it's people playing the game and using but not abusing savestates.

  • I like how he just snaps near the end and rails on the lper.

  • If you can't complete a level without savestating, we don't want to WATCH it. The point is that if you can get through it without savestating in a reasonable amount of time, it's a display of skill that is entertaining to watch. If you die repeatedly and edit it in such a way as to be amusing, it is a display of frustration that is entertaining to watch. If you're pressing a button over and over again to load a savestate, it's not entertaining to watch, so DON'T POST IT.

  • you know he should at least try to be funny like SirRonLionheart if hes going to play so terribly

  • I could understand only a bit over 66% of it but this book sounds quite interesting actually... Is it just from the start you were reading it or did you start at a certain point might I ask?

  • I get it now! The government is run by SNES9X.

  • 1:14 "In a certain sex" :P

  • why am I -SNES9X- watching a person -SNES9X- playing -SNES9X- super mario -SNES9X-

  • Has anyone really been-SNES9X-really been as far even as decided to-SNES9X- decided to-SNES9X-to even-SNES9X-even go want to-SNES9X-want to do look more like-SNES9X-?

  • I could not stop laughing through this entire video. The guy playing sounded like he was getting a little annoyed at you but that was hilarious.

  • @vipertxt just in case you don't know the player can't hear him

  • He could barely keep up with all his deaths.

  • @kexclamation Well it's not as if Kaizo Mario is meant to be played without save states. Nor this is meant to be interesting watch.

I do agree save states are annoying, but sometimes, it's impossible to show proper progress without those.

I did save states abuse for some games(Athena NES/PoP Megadrive), didn't feel proud about it, but if I had to restart from the beginning of the game each time I died because of glitches, bad level design, time limit etc... I'd burn out!

  • @Sangohan404 I agree about Kaizo Mario to a point. Honestly, any game that is impossible without save-states shouldn't be recorded for You-Tube to begin with. And moreover, to edit a video to eliminate all appearances of in-game save-stating is equally wrong, as it creates a false mask of genuine skill in what game you're playing. I will correct myself in this, I speak against save-stating more for games that can be independent from save-stating than the ones that must utilize them.

  • @kexclamation Youtube vids are serious business huh???

  • @kexclamation Last check no one wants to play one level for several hours some people have something called "lifes" and if u aren't playing the same same exact game this guy is why would I care what lets play u did even though the only thing I do agree with is save state abuse I never abused them like this.I used them for more as a quick save or recording perpose measures and not as a reload every time I screw up.

  • @kexclamation quadman has better standards now, he doesn't even play on emulators anymore.

  • @kexclamation lol boofuckinhoo, cry about a hacked video game why dont ya. the geek code is strong in this one obi wan.

  • @kexclamation Go play Touhou.

You'll realize how precious save states are then.

Also, Lunatic mode, 1cc no bomb clear.

  • @gg533

A 1cc run means nothing if you use savestates.

Why can't there be a game that takes skill and practice to beat instead of something that just takes time?

You shouldn't even call yourself a touhou player

  • @Purin1023 ... What? Savestates in Touhou? I have never heard of that. Seriously. I think you're just making this shit up. Touhou certainly does take skill and practice.

And yes, savestates are cheating, but hell, they do make stuff easier. ofc, I don't use savestates because I'm too lazy to do so.

  • @gg533 yeah, I dont know what that guy was thinking... if touhou pros asked me whether I played touhou on easy or with savestates... I'd say easy... cause savestates are the most unholy thing to do while playing any videogame

  • @gg533 read your old post again. You kind of make it sound like that you used save states in touhou.

  • @RichterVonFuchs Not really... If you think about it, it more looks like I was saying that if you've 1cc'd no bomb cleared Lunatic modo, then you'd realize how much save states make life easier.

  • @gg533 Where's the satisfaction in that?

  • @gg533 that is just one perspective. The guy read it as you saying. "play touhou, you'll realize how precious it is. Here's me telling you what I accomplished in Touhou ___"

The playing touhou has nothing to do with savestates, but if you correlate the two people are going to try and put two and two their own way. Both ways of seeing your post makes sense.

  • @Purin1023 uhh, using savestates in touhou is the same as getting teased... by all the easy mode players... damn what a loser

  • @gg533 eh, theres harder shmup games than touhou

  • @tabbyaboutroots Eh, but are the bullet patterns pretty?

    Are the protags awesome?

    Do they have Sakuya?

Are they part of an awesome series?

    Doubt it o3o

  • @gg533 1. most of the time, yes. 2. whats protags 3. no thats a character specific thing you cant attack with that 4.depends which ones youre talking about B) 5. you have fun with that. imma go play crimzon clover or maybe a bit of refrain or maybe even some lovely ring^-27 (subtly recommending games to you here)

  • @tabbyaboutroots protags means protagonists, main characters, etc.

  • STATE 0 LOADED.

  • My brain hurts watching this

  • lol'd hard :3

  • "And now, a reading of On Liberty by SNES9X.

This essay is not about SNES9X."

    I beg to differ.

  • That speech he gives towards the end is epic.

  • Economic freedom is so overrated

  • Did you really have to say "Snes9X" every single time that popped up on the screen, and if so, why?

  • @VIOLATER9000 To prove a point

  • @VIOLATER9000 To highlight how ridiculous it is.

  • @VIOLATER9000 to show that the Snes9x logo is shown waaaaay too much in this video.

  • Comment removed

  • Watched it 17 times. Still funny.

  • @u6h1 My, how eloquent an answer. Tell me, do you speak to your mother like that?

  • @u6h1 go to heck, you son of a jerk

  • i liked the part when he said Sne9x

  • Are you reading The Republic while watching a bad LP? Slowbeef, you might just be my hero.

  • @UmbreonMessiah he's reading from "On Liberty"

  • @shriez I know, I immediately regretted that comment when I posted it. Can't take it down though :(

  • This is the second time I've watched this.

  • I like the way the guy said Fudgemuffins!

  • "A monkey could do SNES9x" XD

  • This video should be called:

    On SNES9X, by slowbeef.

  • how many time has he "snes9x'd"?

  • @applepie1591 29 times hes been say'in SNES9X

  • I normally agree with you guys about bad lps, but I actually like quadraxis. I mean, I agree about the snes9x screen, but other than that I'd say its a pretty funny lp. I mean, it's *kaizo*. Sure, he's not the best at it, but it's like watching an IWBTG. It's funny watching him repeatedly fail and get increasingly frustrated over it. But, what do I know? I'm not like some people who think that their opinion is law, so I'm not going to berate you guys and call you names.

  • quadraxis14 got owned by this guy XD

  • Those who admit any limitation to SNES9X...

  • actually i watched this all the way through..O.O and im still sane too lol. also who here googled Snes9x after watching it? lol this was funny! its not impossible to watch, but then again i found this in a forum and the person said "i dare you to watch this all the way through" well i cant back down from a dare so. i watched it all the way though and i laughed so hard. i laughed at how many times you kept saying Snes9x and at how badly the person was playing the game. kudos to u for doing this

  • Snes9X

  • Major kudos to slowbeef for being able to keep that up and not going clinically insane

  • how about take a shot every time you see SNES9X

  • @shadowrunner12021 you would be dead halfway through the video.

  • nah he's using BSNES

  • "To prevent the weaker members of the community from Snes9x"

  • This essay sounded pretty interesting but the damn let's player ruining the fucking reading.

  • Nietzche!

  • "Falcon-- SNES9X-- Falcon Punch!? You are an asshole!"

    Love it.

  • He said Snes9x 158 times through the whole video

  • @HumanGiant13 I thought it was 173?

  • @theIEndYOU I might have miscounted. He said it so many times.

  • @HumanGiant13 I got bored and counted it after I laughed so hard at this video.

  • I like the part where he says "Snes9x"

  • A monkey can do SNES9X

  • total SNES9X count - a total of 173

  • So this is being played on ZSNES, right?

  • 3:27 he savestates in the lava, the EDITS to get back to where he was, so if he can edit, why doesn't he just cut this shit out?

  • He was obviously using ZSNES

  • GEE I WONDER WHAT EMULATOR WE'RE USING
