  • you know you dont have to braid it all the way down to the end before wrapping the hair around it. it'll prob be more flexible too. looks nice though. it'll last long!

  • @FoReVeRDaNcE85 lol im sooo glad i saw this before i out the yarn braids n @BlckHair4u these are gorgeous!!

  • @mholloway1209 :) thanks!

  • love it wanna try it out!!

  • I am very interested in do this style. What kind of hair do you use for a the silkier look? Is it necessary to use additional to do the box braid 1st or can I just braid my own hair then wrapped it? How long does this style last? Is it easy to take out? Thanks

  • @TDQTV for the silkier look i used kanekalon braids. I wouldn't risk plaiting my own hair then wrapping the braids because if you leave it for any long period of time your own hair may start to loc underneath the wrap and/or you may have difficulties to loose it out.

The very 1st time I did this style I kept it for 2mths. Yes it's very easy to take out, just cut off the burnt ends, unravel by pulling the 'coil', then loose the braids itself

  • did these for the 1st time too. took forever was really pretty though. I used the kinkier hair for a more dreaded look:)

  • @yellamami2003 nice!

  • i love the look and thats my next style

  • It does look VERY time consuming, however the end product turned out beautiful! You are gorgeous!

  • @kujiwoo thank you :)

  • This is beautiful I did mine with the synthetic hair and the problem I'm having with the wrap and braids is that the braid is popping out the wrap in certain parts. Do u have this problem at all?

  • @tiolea2 yes i do, sometimes i unwrap it and wrap it over, but if i'm tired and it's in a position where it won't be seen i just leave it :)...(on my own head tho)

  • Sorry if this posted again, but I didn't see 1st post go through. Your work is great! Are u a stylist, and are u located in the Toledo area? I'd like to find someone to do my hair like this

  • @luvleeme1 thanks, no i'm actually from trinidad and tobago

  • You do great work! Are u a stylist & are u located in the Toledo area? I'd love to find someone to do this for me as neat as yours.

  • i am loving this ...just before I got locks I did my hair like this but I used yarn instead of hair to wrap it....nice I love it

  • OMG I Love It Goin to try this in ah few..hope it comes out loving Great as Yours..

  • @loveahweave ok! :)

  • I wish I could find someone that does this style but I've had no such luck.

  • These are so cute. Can you achieve this style without braiding in the weave ...and just using your own hair for the actual braids and weave for wrapping around the braid?

  • @mskinkybeauty yes you can but don't leave it in for too long or your hair may start to loc

  • @mskinkybeauty HOW DO YOU WASH YOUR HAIR,

    Take care and God bless

  • @64ladyinred oh glad to hear!! :D.....I had placed my head under the shower to ease the tightness..didn't help but it was soothing lol

  • question, how do u take them out when ur ready to?

  • @tsaiyana cut the burnt ends ....unravel the wrapped hair by just pulling it.... then unplait the braids

  • @BlckHair4u sounds like a lot of work lol

  • @tsaiyana lol no it isn't :)

  • @OfficialAsiaaBadd No probs!

  • I am so loving this style...

I am so glad I stumbled across this video.

I have never heard them called beeper braids.

    Just african nubian silk twist...

I guess you learn something ne everyday.. ~smiling

  • @AKIYIAKELLY oo never heard about the name nubian silk twist ..i too learned something! :) now saw the tip in ur message ...i'll include it as an annotation, thanks!

  • your welcome...

  • Great job. Looks like it will protect natural hair very well and last long. I am going to try this style. Thanks for posting very informative!!!

  • @neenee4910 thanks...yes it does last long

  • I did these on a client recently, and it was too time consuming, and I did them slightly larger than what you did. her hair came out nice though!

  • Love the style...it looks like it's VERY time consuming! It took me forever and a few days to do small yarn twists (3 days to be exact!) But I am inspired to try this one day...maybe closer to the winter :)

  • @DeKeShAy32 lol, it sure is time consuming! the only incentive to finishing it when you've already started is just that - because you already started! i tell you, but go right on if you're up for it :D

  • I will b trying this but it won't b until the fall cuz it's getting HOT where I live and me & heat are NOT BFF'S lol...I did kinky twist all winter and think I will give a go at this but uh-ruh they will have to b MEDIUM cuz I KNOW FOR A FACT with them this size i'll goin at it till Jesus come back to get me lol...But they r GORG keep up the good work

  • @wladytray lolol u have me laughing there! good luck with it! :) thanks!

  • Nice. I've been doing those for years. Ixall them Silky Locs. Good Job!!!

  • @hairdiva35 yes i realized that's another name for it as well, thanks though!

  • i was trying to catch how you secured the hair at the end of the braid before burning it...did you just wrap the remaining hair around the end of the braid and it just stayed by itself? also, did the hair unravel after you touched it with the fire?

  • @88948895611499 it wouldn't stay by itself so ensure that you keep holding it secure when u reach the end... pass it over the fire with quick swipes just to singe the strands a bit -- do this while lightly touching it every now and then if necessary, to soften and somewhat shape the singed strands around the braid. When you're sure that it'll stay by itself after this, then cut off the excess hair.

  • @BlckHair4u thank you so much for responding back to me...i really appreciate it!!

  • Very nice...i like!

  • @nae0420nae thanks!

  • Whats the maintenance like for these kind of braids? I'm really interested in getting these or yarn dreads to see how I would look before committing to loc'ing my hair. But if this is a suitable alternative, I can have locs whenever the mood strikes and not have to committ lol I love my hair out and wild in a fro some days but most of all I like being able to scratch my scalp before washing.

  • @MsButtaSoulFly I just wash it periodically and ensure that its kept moisturized. If you want you can also try this technique with the afro kinky braid, it may give a more natural loc look. I know how you feel yes, once you loc that's it for the fro..

  • Very cute! I'm going to try this on my daughter, love your videos!

  • @Mrsgates2011 thanks :)

  • gurl, you ARE talented. and do you think this style can be done with afro kinky type hair to wrap the braid, for a more natural texture or less shiny look?

or will it come out the same, because the afro texture will be pulled so taught?

  • @Toliahli you know i actually said that the next time I do this style i'll try it with the afro kinky hair... i don't believe it'll come out the same tho

..but I saw a vid on locs extension where the lady wrapped the hair around the person's actual hair -- instead of braiding first -- but i'm afraid of that caus i'm not sure if it'll loc my actual hair i'm actually curious to try it but don't want to risk having to cut my hair just to get it out...but i found that the texture remained the same

  • Just by watching this video makes me want to attempt to do my own hair lol. U are soooooo talented :-)

  • @SmileySura lol thanks!

  • this is very pretty

  • @shanunie thanks! :)

  • Love your video but love the song even more. Can you please tell me who its by?..x
