  • That look they give each other at 6:21 kills me.

  • okay yall are trippen...

Both Bekele and Bolt are great athletes with many achievements. Both are gifted in unique ways,

and there is no way either of them could dominate in each others own events. Yes Bekele has raw speed it is unmatched to "a sprinter" and Bolt has endurance in sprinters terms. Not all sprinters can run a 200m or a 400m this is what makes Bolt unique. As far as I recall this is a distance video, not a sprinting vid.

  • @mamowolde It'ts unique that he can run a decent 400m? Not really, most 200m runners can do this.

  • @jonnybravo8 thank you malmo! and most high school 400 runners can run decent 800s, why not bolt!?

  • @soggysausage Because most 400 runners do endurance training, Bolt is a 100/200 runner who CAN do 400m if he starts doing more endurance. He is far from 800. Malmo? If you are referring to the swedish city its written: MalmØ.

  • @jonnybravo8 yu don't even know bolt's training you dolt

  • @soggysausage I do. You obviously don't.

  • it was that soggysausage who reconed bolt could do the 10k, not me runnerboy081.

  • It's unreal how fast Bekele can drop into another gear

  • @need4speed4245 Galen will be world record holder once he finds those gears

  • Comment removed

  • kenenisa is sooooo awesome

  • 2bh i cant see bolt as an 800m runner, 400m maybe but not 800m

  • @SoggySausage are you completely stupid? Long distance runners aren't ment to be as super fast as Sprinters! They train in completely seprate ways for completely different distances! You say Bekele can get near 11 for 100m, flip that, could Bolt get near 27mins for the 10k?

  • @LiamProbert8489 I think Bolt with his natural speed could with three years of stuctured training break 28 mins, you're talking about a guy that ran 45 400 at age 15. shit i would go so far as to believing he could take the world record in the 800, thats natural speed

  • @soggysausage I agree with you that Bolt would be a great 400 runner but he is not built for the 800. Bolt is 6' 5" 190-200 lbs. David Rudisha (800 WR holder) is 6' 3" 157 lbs, Wilson Kipketer is 6' 0" 145 lbs, and Nick Symmonds (a heavy 800 m runner) is 5' 10" 165 lbs. Also, to your talk about Bolt's "natural speed," natural talent is not at important as proper training and preparation in sprinting as it is in distance running. Distance runners don't eat McDonald's before races.

  • @soggysausage Why do you keep comparing to bolt? You could say the same thing about anyone else in the world. Bolt is the fastest man ever. Bekele, Lagat, ect are sickeningly fast. Both can sustain 18mph for over three minutes. Plus all those sprinters are steroid injected machines.

  • @soggysausage Idiot?

  • @soggysausage you really are dumb. Bekele is 29 years old and has taken most of his life to get to world record time for 10k, so to think that Bolt come get under 28mins in three years is a joke. Bekele will have a 100m best of around 10.4 (just ran the last 100m in the above race in around 12.8 secs), 200m will be low 21 secs if not under. Bolt has pure speed, Bekele has speed endurance. And where the hell did you get 45secs 400m aged 15 from?! he ran 48.28 secs

  • @soggysausage We were comparing (raw speed between) two distance runners... DISTANCE RUNNERS. why are you even mentioning bolt in the first place? I could just have easily said "oh well my dog can outsprint Bolt any day, that's raw speed" lol

  • Comment removed

  • @soggysausage jajajaja u really have no idea of runnig shit

  • @soggysausage That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard in my whole life. You obviously have no idea how much endurance you need to have to go from 400m to 800m. Especially when he isn’t even a 400m runner, he is a 100m/200m runner.

  • @jickjick94 it doesn't take much endurance to go from 400 to 800

  • @soggysausage That completely depends on the runner. If you are a world class runner, then yes it would take much to go from 4 to 8.

  • @LiamProbert8489 Liam im sorry but you are so wrong about that. Bolt no matter how long of training he does now could ever break 28 in a 10K. NO WAY!! He does not have any of the structure and base that elite distance runners have been building since they were teenagers. I dont care if he ran a 45 400 at 15. 400m and 10,000m are completely different. Just like Galen could never train to break 10 in the 100m. Both are great in their events but neither could complete in the opposite spectrum.

  • Chris Solinsky disliked this video!

  • @Zaxxen69 lol

  • bekele and Galen Rupp are both incredibly tenacious and tough.....I think Bekele has way more raw speed than almost any other distance runner I have seen though and you can tell he was rested well for this one

  • @PauleePessimist thats not raw speed you damn retard, line Bekele's short ass up with Usain Bolt and we'll seee what's raw. He is however very aerobically fit and his speed comes shows through his endurance

  • @soggysausage okay mister internet goon....

  • @soggysausage Grow up dude, he said distnace runner, not sprinter dumbshit -_-

  • @BathinApe1 yu can go fuck yourself

  • @soggysausage what the heck is wrong with you? you're freaking out cuz pessimist said that bekele was a good sprinter for a 10,00m runner. how is that objectionable? he clearly is. and he wasn't saying that bekele is a better sprinter than usain. you however deduced that he was and preceded to call him a retard

  • @soggysausage u mad bro?

  • @soggysausage what kind of dumb fuck are you. He said raw speed compared to other distance runners. Take your finger out of your ass. How do you compare a distance runner that runs 10000m with a sprinter that runs 100m.

  • @lamrof its easy to compare two human beings, dude wasn't born to break records, he trained to get there

  • @BathinApe1 hahaha thats true PauleePessimist its a true idiot! hahaha you can't read!

  • @soggysausage You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. Bekele was inside 11 seconds in the final 100 meters of his 10k world record.

  • @soggysausage Bekele is on the same level as Usain Bolt in terms of dominance in their respective events.

  • @soggysausage Raw Speed "for a distance runner". Obviously Bekele has no raw speed comparable to Bolt. No way in hell Bekele can even get neat 11 in the 100m.

He is not that slow though, as he can likely run 49 high for an open 400m which would be a respectable time for a high school sprinter. Elite distance runners are very slow compared to good sprinters, but they are extremely fast sprinters compared to a typical person.

  • @soggysausage That is raw speed you twat line usain bolt up at the 10k starting line and see how fast he can sprint in the last 800.

  • @soggysausage Usain would have about a second on Bekele. How much do you think Bekele would have on Usain at even 1500?

  • @soggysausage Why get so worked up over speculation? First off they are totally different races, secondly Bolt would lose a lot of muscle mass preparing for a race like this so his results probably wouldn't really reflect how fast he can be. It seems strange that people that aren't even competing get so worked up over their own opinion of what their favorite athlete is capable of, when the athlete himself demonstrates less attachment to winning, and more to enjoying the nature of competition.

  • If Rupp wants to win on the track he's gonna have to learn to front-run, cause he'll always be outkicked.

  • This vid went viral on Saudi Arabia

  • What an amazing race.

  • jus destroyin solinkys record, such a boss, i hope to see him on the podium in 2012 games

  • Rupp is legit.

  • RUPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP

  • NICE JOB RUPP! I remember this guy in high school!

  • The great K. Bekele returns! Great race by Rupp!

  • video is a bit dark. :P

  • I find it amazing how Galen also PR'd in the 5K too. Much respect to him. I hope he goes far in the next few olmypics.

  • i get what u were saying, but still he didnt really get burned. Anyway, who hasnt gotten burned by bekele

  • @electricman531 He got burned in the end in the sense that Bekele and Rotich easily ran away from him in the last 600m. Still a great showing though, especially considering Rupp has been steadily improving season by season. Man is quickly becoming a monster on the track.

Interesting though that Rupp is running the Marathon Trails here is a couple weeks.

  • you said he got burned? u must be retarded cause he obviously got 3rd place and was only 5 seconds behind bekele

  • Wow, American record and still gets burned.

  • @viperdude281 how can u say Rupp got burnt when there where Africans behind him

  • @brianropel I meant he got burned by the first and second place finishers. Sorry thought that was obvious.

  • @viperdude281 The whole field got burned

  • @viperdude281 I'd like to see you try to out-kick Kenenisa Bekele

  • @xHunterXIV I don't think that's relevant; I never said I could.

  • what stupidity, the guy just broke the american record and this people here writing about racism, what a waist of time. get over it!

  • @283ruben

Advice: Don't accuse other people of stupidity when you have problems with homonyms. Case in point, you don't waist time. You waste it.

Now, if you're criticizing soggy, go ahead because he brought up the baseless racist charges in the first place, but if someone is going to try to get away with calling me a racist, I'm going to tell them to fuck off and explain why they're being a moron.

  • @mapscannotcontainme Bro u really like attacking people. It must be really miserable being you bro. I would hate to be racist in an ever-changing America bro. I like how you peg Lagat as un-american because he wasn't raised here bro. As if that has anything to do with him being trained in our system, which is the NCAA. Bro learn the sport bro. And love your brothers. Don't hold on to your racial purity as if that is all you have bro. Black people love you bro.

  • @soggysausage

This is my last post because I finally get that you're a lying, slanderous troll & now I refuse to waste any more time on you. I never once attacked Lagat nor any other black runner nor said anything remotely racist. I never said Lagat was less American, a bad person, or anything less than a great human being and an exceptional athlete. My true, inoffensive feelings were clarified by my rationally composed posts, whereas your posts betray the thick-headed troll you are. Peace.

  • Finally, as I said a little earlier, I think national records should ideally belong to runners who grew up in those systems. I think that way it's a better indication of what those nations athletic systems are able to produce. Thats what a national record should be, not a "fastest person who can legally vote in this country" award. Race doesnt matter. And if it was a black runner with huge never before done breakthrough like Lomong running 3:45 or Keflezighi running 26:40, I'd be just as pumped.

  • @mapscannotcontainme You wasted your time typing all that. I think you need to research the history of Bernard Lagat. He is more American than you bro.

  • @soggysausage

    1. I'm not your bro.

    2. I didn't waste my time because I responded to an unfair criticism you were making of me. You said I was a racist. I'm not. I explained why it doesn't necessarily follow that because I am excited about an American being one of the first non Africans to break a distance running benchmark and that I want for an American brought up in the American distance running system to have an American record, that you have reasonable grounds for calling me a racist.

  • @mapscannotcontainme boy you are racist bro

  • I know all about Lagat. I know he ran for WSU and had success there, HOWEVER he achieved his initial prep/collegiate success in Kenya and became the elite professional runner that he as a Kenyan runner. I never said Lagat was a bad person (he's a great person & runner) or that he wasn't American somehow. I didn't say that his records should be stripped or that he shouldnt be allowed to compete and set records. I just said that as an American, I root for runners trained in America to beat him.

  • @mapscannotcontainme lol bro he was trained in America. You ignorant bro and racist.

  • @soggysausage

Yes, he has trained in America. I understand that, but he first developed in Kenya. That's why Nike signed him and why WSU was interested in him. Then he trained with Kenya between the time he graduated and the time he became a U.S. citizen. He ran FOR the Kenyan national team in World Championships and the Olympics. What are you not understanding? Try explaining yourself and defending your assertions with LOGIC and REASONING. People might take you seriously if you do.

  • @mapscannotcontainme bro I am not sure you are understanding the depth of your racism bruh. you are so blinded by the color of Lagat's skin that you don't see the facts. Lagat didn't have citizenship, thus he could not run for America. But he DEVOLOPED in the United States bruh. Your baseless assertions are tiring bruh. Xenophobia is not real bro. Nor is being racist real bruh. You need undestand bro that Lagat is the man, he is the greatest American runner we have had for some time.

  • @soggysausage

There's no racism involved in what I'm saying. Race is irrelevant. I've already mentioned Keflezighi and Lomong (both guys are black and were even born in Africa and they don't come much blacker than Lomong). I don't root for a particular black athlete but I do root for many others and somehow this makes me racist? We can all see your hand. No need to keep playing the race card. I know Lagat is the man and that he is American, but he isn't a fully American runner historically.

  • @soggysausage

[] bro I am not sure you are understanding the depth of your racism bruh []

I don't think you understand what "racism" is. I have absolutely no problem with Lagat. I just root for Americans who were fully trained in U.S. system. I have no problem with Lagat, but for the record, even if I did have a problem with him or another black guy, not liking a particular black person doesn't mean I hate all black people. So if I dislike a single person of another race, I'm a racist? GTFO.

  • @mapscannotcontainme yes, bro that is exactly what it means. If there is only one black runner and you hate him, you are a racist. this really isn't all that hard to understand. I bet you'll be rooting like mad for Lukas Verbicas though and even Salazar wasn't born here. YOu are IGNORANT bro. THey are worthy americans. Learn the history of the sport before you even try to approach me on a racism tip real talk bro.

  • @soggysausage

You're incredibly daft. If I don't like a black person for a reason other than the fact that he is black, but I have no problem with black people in general, that means I am not racist. This is the case. Racism is hating (a) person(s) of a different race because of race. Verzbicas and Salazar were born abroad, yes, but that doesn't matter to me. They were raised in US and brought up in US running system. Why don't you address the fact I root for Lomong and Keflezighi? Moron.

  • @soggysausage

People can root for anybody they want for whatever reason. If it's racist, so what. You act like the worst thing in the world to be is a racist. Everybody is a racist if you ever root for a certain skin color, including black people themselves.

  • @plumeria66 you are absolutely right, let's just all be racist

  • I guess you're simply incapable of comprehending my position on this and why your response has been unfair and juvenile. It's sad that what was meant to be a passing comment prompted you to loft unwarranted insults and accusations of racism and xenophobia. Hopefully, you will reread my posts and see the lack of logic in your reasoning and lack of maturity in your posts.

  • @mapscannotcontainme bro I see behind your facade bro. let's face it bro your going to bash any african runner bro. you are racist bro and do not see the world clearly

  • @soggysausage

No, let's be clear. You don't see anything. You don't even understand the meaning of the words you use in your posts. I haven't BASHED a single African runner in any of my posts. I haven't bashed Lagat. I've just said that I root for runners brought up in the American system to hold American national records. I haven't BASHED Lagat. You're the one who made the baseless jump in logic that because I feel that way, I must be a racist. There's no facade here. I'm being clear, troll.

  • Sick race by Bekele and Rupp. Rupp first non African under 26:50, crushing Solinsky's mark. I'm so happy for Rupp with all the shit he always gets from people. Now we just need him to beat Lagat's outdoor 5k mark...something a bit unsettling for someone who didnt grow up in the US system to have the US 5k record.

  • @mapscannotcontainme hey bro you can take your racism to another video. we all like the fact that an AMERICAN has run under 26:50 but no one cares one shit about his race. NON-AFRICAN, smh, bet you wouldn't say that about Khadevis Robinson or Johnny Gray. You are racist scum bro and scared of foreigners like Lagat who are more American than you.

  • @soggysausage

First of all, relax. I'm not a racist and nothing I said was racist. I was talking about nationality and what system they grew up with and spent most of their time in. I was celebrating Rupp being first non African to break 26:50 in 10K (I was actually wrong there bc Farah (whom I consider to be a legit British runner bc he grew up in British system) did it first). I think national records should be held by runners who matured in that nation's system. Race is irrelevant.

  • @soggysausage

In your eagerness to show what you deem to be your moral superiority, you failed to notice that not only was nothing I said was racist, explicitly or really even implicitly racist, but I even started my first post with "sick race by Bekele"...and since I think I've already established your deficiency of attentiveness, let me point out that Bekele is black. You know a lot of racists who congratulate black foreigners, do you? Get over yourself.

  • Wow... This was an outstanding race! It's so great to see Bekele back and Rupp finally breaking through! Regardless if you are American or not, this video is inspiring to people all across the world. On one hand, a truly brilliant comeback story is evident in Bekele's win as well as the rise of a young superstar.

  • everyone is talking about this american running a solid time rather than the return of the greatest distance runner ever with an amazing run. Americans are ignorant

  • @GSP27GSP I think you're ignorant for not realizing that we, as Americans, love the fact that we are finally making a dent on the international level. We all know Bekele is one of the best to ever wear the spike, but Rupp is showing that anyone can stay with the top. Gives us hope.

I hope that your opinion of Americans isn't just from a few youtube comments or I feel really sorry for you

  • @MCDrizzzle Indeed.

  • @MCDrizzzle USA has the best drugs but the shit genes lol!

  • Bekele is a beast. Doesn't even look winded afterward.

  • @steverunsxc I think he was just happy to be back. Oxygen can wait!

  • Insane!! Awesome performance by Rupp!

  • Galen Rupp, Congradulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Completely fantastic!

  • I liked 7:06-7:07

  • Sick!
