  • "How do we get the hard questions before things go wrong?" asks Jeff Greenfield

That's an easy one to answer

    1) Make it illegal for news media to be owned by anything but itself.

    2) Make the news media NON-PROFIT!

    3) Make it illegal for a news media to own the airwaves within the borders of another market.

    4) Make it so one person or company CAN NOT own more than one media type within its own market (he/she/it can own a TV station, but not a radio station or a newspaper, etc, etc)

  • @communistjesus yeah theya re on hiatus. as they said they would be last week

  • I KEEP SEEING RERUNS... ARE THE DAILY SHOW AND THE COLBERT REPORT ON HIATUS ??? ANYONE

  • Audio only on left side?

  • i think its funny when they say "50 trillion dollars" they show actual physical money, when really only 3% (or something like that) of our money is physical currency, another illusion.

  • I find it very ironic that Cramer was the one targeted when he was one of the first to warn people that things were gonna go down the crapper. I also have no idea why people are saying that the media were trying to downplay it. Somebody must've been reading different crap than I was. All I saw was impending doom and gloom.

  • @ndividuall Cramer was constantly, constantly telling people to buy into stocks that were going down the crapper. It's a dog and pony show, and he deserved to be targeted. He's one of the many useful idiots corporate America uses to sell their bullshit.

  • Disappearance of 50 trillion dollars...HOLY FUCKING SHITTT!!

  • "How do we get the hard questions asked, before things go wrong?" IT'S CALLED DOING YOUR JOB MORON! YOU'RE SUPPOSE TO BE A JOURNALIST FOR FUCK SAKE!

  • LOVE JON

  • I wasn't surprised that cbs failed to show the full extent of stewart's undeniable points and rather quickly dissmissed it as just being a cumulative anger over the economic situation

  • Not hard to do. But he was being a hypocrite in the process. It's a shill condemning someone else for being a shill.

  • Fooled it self my ass! Fuckers

  • "...Stewart's never come off as a pedantic idiot..."

Not to his devoted fans, certainly - the same sort who would, say, consider the Economist worth no more than toilet paper, or criticize a critic for using proper English (!). Nor would they call him bombastic, hypocritical, outrageously biased, equivocating, deliberately deceitful, or a host of other complaints that well reflect his on-air antics.

He would likely be popular as well, with those who substitute insults for sound argument.

  • jon stewart still ripped this guys ass, I saw the show and he is right.

  • Put Fox and MSNBC on a scale and they're going to balance each other out. All American cable news does suck I will give you that and I've found the only news worth my time (when I'm not giving into the temptation of all this high school drama) are BBC and Al Jazeera.

I have to disagree about Jon Stewart though, because cares that people are informed and cares about exposing crooked assholes, a whole lot more than any cable news outlet out there.

  • Well if you like the BBC you can't be all that bad, although I suspect you're a fan of the Guardian too (mind, yet another news source, despite a ceaseless Leftist bias, that is miles ahead of anything on this side of the pond). And if you're going to champion a Mideast propaganda source, better al Jazeera than Press TV.

I can't stomach Stewart's hypocrisy though, despite your endorsement. I can't buy the idea that he cares about anything besides his ratings. Sorry.

  • thats a joke right.... u just made a joke.

  • a child can find humor in anything i suppose.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Oh, wait, you werent kidding

  • this guy was ashamed of what he did

  • Hey, DrCruel.

"comically pedantic idiots with delusions of grandeur"

    Really?

What world do you live in?

Stewart's never come off as a pedantic idiot, least of all close to Cramer. And At what point - ever, has Jon Stewart shown delusions of grandeur?

Your vents are propped up with big words and nobody buys it. Close your trap.

  • @OmegaSteven "Stewart's never come off as a pedantic idiot"

Yes he does. Not for his fans, of course. But yes, very much a pedantic idiot for the rest of us.

  • @Eikinkloster

Since when speaking the truth is equal on being a pedantic idiot?

As for the rest of us:

Do you have a scientifically statistical sample of the percentage of people that believe the way you do. Or are you just believing because you believe something the majority thinks exactly like you?

I am surprise that we get more reliable news from Comedy Central that from convensional news sources. MSM should not only be ashame, but held accountable for their lies.

  • i've found Richard Santelli to be a far more coherent critic of Cramer than Stewart. Not that Cramer needs anyone to make him look like a fool, but Jon Stewart isn't much better.

Stewart consistently backs the Leftist worldview. I take comments of his "genius" to be as valid as those of Dittoheads in regards to Rush Limbaugh. In either case, one dependably receives an ideological line.

I suggest you read "The Economist" for your news. American media sources and pundits are quite poor.

  • I suggest you put your high-flown vocabulary into better use by understanding, from a broader perspective, what these pundits are trying to say.

And I wipe my ass with The Economist, because they present their hindsight as better than 20/20.

  • Stewart has comic genius no news analyst could match. But comic genius is not isolated to "joke telling". He is very intelligent and politically savy which allows him to be funny. Dr. Cruel, you may throw in as many big words as you can fit into 500 characters but it doesn't make you any less wrong. Stewart's brilliance lies in his comedic shield that allows him to truly expose our nations problems and ask the questions everyone else is afraid to ask.

    Stewart/Colbert 2012

  • DrCruel not really the case buddy. Stewart satirizes these very powerful people who you dont hear much about when you watch "oreilly or anyone else" instead he is the best news source out there for all the biased networks. Stewart caters to a crowd of people who actually want to know the truth and that truth is Cramer is a market manipulator that serves his best interest. If he tell people to buy Bear Stearns he short sells and capitalizes on much of that stock when it goes under. FUCK HIM

  • Stewart does tend to repeat that claim - then continue to pretend that he's a worthy political commentator regardless.

Stewart is not a "voice of the people", no more than O'Reilly is. He caters to a narrow, biased political band of people. And if Stewart claims to be a clown, there should be no criticism when I agree with that verdict.

In any event, for Stewart to criticise Cramer is rank hypocrisy. They're both comically pedantic idiots with delusions of grandeur.

  • But Stewart's a comic. News networks taking him seriously is friggin' hilarious. Fox found it a threatening competition! How? It's a comedy show!

I feel Fox monitors Stewart more than his audience. He's no fool, Stewart nor his staff- or else he wouldn't have drawn attention from those powerful networks.

I don't watch, but Im encouraged now.

  • But as Stewart says..they are both snake oil salesmen...but at least the Daily Show labels itself as snakeoil!

Stewart is the voice of the people essentially. He is fairly intelligent and as well-informed as most of us can be from watching the crap that the news networks air. But Jon Stewart calls himself a comedian first and you watch his show on Comedy Central

Cramer on the other hand portrays himself as a financial advisor. He tries to be entertaining and funny...but he isn't a comedian

  • @cndn85MB no he is not the voice of the people he is a comedian

  • @TheJoec2005 He's a comedian because he's damn funny. He could be a politician or he could be part of one of these "news" shows. I wanna see another of your voices of the people be funny and smart at the same time. They're barely competent in the first place. While you're watching those jokes you call news shows drowning in your own ignorance, I'll watch Jon Stewart and to hear the voice of the people. Jackass.

  • People complain about john stewart all the time because they say he doesn't know what he is talking about and his staff do the work to get him the material to be funny. In that interview he was bringing up valid points and if prople haven't noticed if you get passed his jokes he brings up some very serious issues in american politics. So don't just lash out at the guy for embarassing jim kramer because what he did was showed what happens when you put a spin on news instead of telling it

  • I'm sorry, but Stewart is not the person you need to listen to about anything serious.

  • John Stewart knows more about what theses people do than most of the people do themselves

  • Let's say I certainly got your message. You've been quite articulate, and far more honest that I normally have reason to expect.

And thanks for so definitively confirming why I don't like Stewart's fans. No offence meant, of course.

  • Personal attacks in lieu of erudite criticism - I would expect no less from a fan of Jon Stewart.

Stewart pretends to be an expert commentator on politics, but hides behind his official status as a "comedian" whenever he is caught out being biased, offensive or simply stupid. In this case, Stewart is criticising Cramer for being the same sort of stupid jerk that he is.

Now Stewart's fans are acting like stupid jerks because I call him on it. How predictable.

  • well, noone who wasn't a stupid jerk and stepping up to the fucking plate, but it still needed to be done.

  • DrCruel. I am a big fan of Jon Stewart, but I believe there is a grain of truth in what you say. Stewart lives in a strange world between comedy and punditry, and sometimes he crosses over. It doesn't bother me because it is aligned with my political philosophy, but I can imagine how ticked a Republican could get about this. That's one of the reasons I love The Daily Show.

If I have been inarticulate, you have my most profound apology.

  • most people assume john stewart is just funny and not politically savy, but in reality he can hold his own with people that work in washington in a majority of political debates

  • Jon stewart is fucken awsome thank god somebody finally comes in and tells cramer to go fuck himself its true cramer fucken knew banks knew the media cnbc knew and jim acts as if this is some kind crazy thing that happend bullshit so many people got fucken over thanks to jim and hes a nothing more but a piece of shit

  • DrCruel, you're a fucking moron.

Jon is possibly one of the most enlightened and enlightening people in media today.

    Go suck Cramer's warty penis.

  • 2:23 crazy black guy

  • he tore Cramer apart, I couldn't help but smile the whole time. :)

  • Highly edited, oh well, Stewart was much less hostile in the interview then they make it seem in the edited clips.

  • so who are the 'masses' going to blame next?

  • huh? so that was a general slam against... a few hundred million people who just lost half their wealth, cuz a handful of bankers lied and stole?

    stay classy san diego...

  • @wesscoast ROTFL HAHAAHAHAAHA

  • @wesscoast If the American public wasn't so retarded, they wouldn't have been "stolen" from. It's amazing how far 4 little words can go: "Spend within your means".

  • @bodaggin Exactly! Be responsible for your actions. You're in a mortgage you can't afford? That's YOUR fault!

  • Any serious investor does NOT watch Jim Cramer. But CNBC does an excellent job of reporting financial news.

If you're investing and not watching CNBC, then you're probably losing money.

  • if your investing and watching CNBC, you're probably not making money either.

I suggest playing the daily 3 and 4. Its the same damn thing.

  • PMSNBC is even dumber.

  • cnbc is a dumb network

  • best drug in the us money

  • Jim Cramer should be doing drugs with the other boys on Wall Street, then he might come up with some good picks.

  • you can see this guy Cramer on Seinfeld the one where Elaine leaves the erotic message on Jerrys tape recorder he's the refridgerator repairman in the beginning of the episode probably not the best idea to take financial advice from a actor

  • I am a self -Mortgage Broker and a Bank Manager.

The problem is that when Rupert Murdoch owns "half" the news and the other half is owned by just 2 or 3 others, they are able to SHAPE the news and control the truth.

That's why I stopped watching television a long time ago and perfer to get my content from independant internet sources.

  • First of all, Jon Stewart is an ENTER-

TAINER! He's VERY clever and intelligent in his grasp of the issues, but-he's first and foremost a comedian! Cramer is VERY sharp and knows his stuff, but-to a point he's ALSO an entertainer inasmuch as the way he "delivers" his advice. Cramer is NEVER all "happy" talk-nor is he ever Mr. Gloom either. He's a good balance, as opposed to the media which obviously STILL gets a woody simply scaring people!

  • good comment

  • Cramer is an ENTERTAINER too.

He can claim to know everything but there's a disclaimer at the beggining of his show that he might be full of shit.

  • jews in the oven

  • rshace

    rshace2012

    CPRparty

    THEALLCNI

  • this is hard to watch for anybody who watches cramer.

  • you might be right

  • he did not blame only Cramer! get your facts right!

  • Kudos to Cramer and John Stewart for sitting down like MEN and discussing this face-to-face.

Not to mention this was done by a man who does a COMEDY show...apparently John Stewart can be more credible and serious about politics and our economy than the most loud-mouthed O'Reillys and Limbaughs out there. What does this tell us?

  • wow your so smart not!!!!!!

  • a brilliant reply from someone called "toomanyasses". What are you, about 13 years old?

  • what are you ten

  • You are so right!

  • Well, that's just it...Stewart's show is not anymore comedic than Oreillys show. They both joke around. Stewart's show is centered around lambasting people he sees doing wrong just like Oreillys show.

  • Stewart is funny on purpose, first off. And I also believe that O'Reilly wouldn't be able to handle his show being branded as a "comedy show" because he's such an arrogant douche-bag that screams at his guests at the top of his lungs.

  • brilliant comment what are you tweleve

  • Nice job CBS. Way to keep all the audio on the left channel.

You got a REAL top notch team of editors over there,,,

  • THEY DRANK THEIR OWN KOOLAID?

    D:

  • go jon

  • No more democrats and republicans. Vote third party!

  • a lot of guys on wallstreet in one way or another, drank their own koolaid

  • bank of america sux it said i cashed a check a day in the future lawlol

  • The only thing is I wish John would of given him a chance to talk, just so it made it seem like he wasn't talking over him.

    Other than that bravo.

  • lol "thank you for your perspective on that", could that be a more condescending response....

  • This was very informative... I get it the situation now

  • always something

  • The Financial networks are not meant for the ordinary people. Anyone who has watched them for more than 15 minutes can realize that.

And there is a reason , there are not meant to be. You have to have a financial insight in order to really get any information at all from the rapid movement of the markets. Jon Stewart's criticism was not about how much inaccessible the financial world has become, but about the soft touch CNBC has in dealing with issues of great impact with CEOs..

  • Ron Paul was asking the hard questions... you didn't want to listen.

  • No, he was engaging in a rhetorical method all right-wingers do: Scatter-Gun Prophesying.

The idea is that if you make enough predictions about anything, one of them will be right in no time at all because it's nearly impossible to be wrong about anything. Then you shout loudly about how right you were, ignoring the countless times you were wrong because no one will remember unless they forensically search the record. It's a way to gain authority without actually being worthy of it.

  • lol @ the black guy with the crazy hair 2:24

  • lol!! he´s doing loops!!! omg omg

  • 'how do we get the hard questions asked before they go wrong????'. Thats the journalists job. However, corporate (banks, military-industrial-complex, oilmen) mainstream media are purely propoganda networks. The truth is there for everyone to see. The American government and mainstream media is controlled by corporations.

  • Cramer needs phelps to hook him up with some drugs ha

    watch my vids YO

  • How do we ask the hard questions?.... Really?!?... I dunno maybe we could try ASKING THEM FOR ONCE?!?!?!

  • I <3 Jon Stewart.

  • I don't get it. I keep getting richer and richer as the market goes down. Who in their right mind was listening to CNBC from the beginning? Independent analysis has led our fund to keep making 20-40% year after year, no matter how bad Wall Street gets.

And no, you can't buy into our fund without a diplomatic referral.

  • The Obama Deception

  • the suck, fuck alex jones he just like glenn beck

  • i have a huge dick...

  • ur penis

u know what im talking about

  • welcome to the internet... such a cozy place

  • Cramer is a hunk.

  • Jon Steward is gold.

  • everyone is so gay with theyr opinions. i say fuck u all.

  • You are just as gay by leaving your opinion. Are you coming on to us?

  • ill take that as a homosexual advance honey ;)

  • All right! Bend over, grab your ankles, and say please.

  • Like a snake eating its own tail, the media is reinventing itlself!! It wouldn't have matter to the general public if they (pundits) had all given the "gloomy doomy" forcast of happened.....99% of the population does not interact with its stock....they just do 3 choices, "High, Medium, Low" Risk (with no clue what those pots contain). The public owns nothing except the shirt on their back and roof over their head (or rent).

  • colonilisisevil blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah

  • You should take your food stamps and buy spelling lessons.

  • I'd put money on the fact that jigga has a tiny dick.

  • Hows your 401k poor boy? Even you think about a rich mans cock. The only thing short on me is my portfolio.I took Jon Stewarts Grandmothers retirement money.

  • Jon is right. Like him, or hate him, he is right about this.

  • Good video on hulu from march 4th's daily show about cnbc.

  • tis true

  • Dear evil-----I became rich from the stock market. All I did was short the market and I made a SHITLOAD of money. Hhahahahah Im laughing all the way to the bank. Sorry about everybodys 401k. NOT hahahahahahhhahahah Im rich your poor .hahahahahha Fuck you.

  • Why is it that U-Tube still allows river dwelliing , scum sucking alter boy loving , take it in the ass pigs f&#%king assholes LIKE COLONILISMISEVIL TO WRITE HIS SHIT GET RID OF HIS ASS NOW !!!!!!!!!

  • There's never a way to always see the bad things coming, we'd love to do that, but it's just not possible. To stop every bad thing from happening in advance is to live in a perfect world and we all know that ain't happening any time soon!

  • lol, did he just call her "kitty" :D

  • Don't be hateful. It's not called for...I'm pretty sure not ALL people who have committed these crimes are Jewish. It's unfair and ignorant of you to imply that.

Also, I'm pretty sure Jon Stewart is Jewish as well...his real name is something like...Leibowitz, but I could be wrong on that.

Think about what you are posting before you do so. It's easy for someone to hide behind your keyboard and screen spewing such filth. It's still disappointing that there are people who think like you do.

  • btw jon stewart is also a jew...

  • Oh and Erin Burnett should NOT be allowed to be interviewed or comment on ANY shows outside of CNBC.

Have you actually ever listened to her? ANYONE with half a clue about history, economics or politics KNOWS that ANY time Burnett comments on one of those subjects she's shows that she's totally ignorant on those subjects!

  • Comment removed

  • wow they chopped that story to poop

  • jon stewart for president

  • also, another thing, the media wants you to believe a certain reality of which some of the content is false so that when preventable mistakes occur, we hopefully learn from them ourselves so we do not have to be spoon fed information and directions on how to get out of this ass we are in. excuse my sexual content. anyway i am just saying it is now time to face what is really reality:

we live in a world dominated by corporations that are greedy and corrupt.

  • all stewart was trying to do was expose to the public what was really going on because too much of us have our heads to far up our, and/or someone else's ass(es) , to notice what is really going on.

    Youtube logic:

you have just selected a video that says the united states government and its problems, you have just been rick rolled.

    brought toyou by carls jr

  • wall street fooled itself? bolognia, theyre not stupid they new the ramifications and they new we would get the bill if things went south, after all theyre just gambling with the money we worked hard for.

  • Cramer is just another wall street clown. I am glad he called Cramer out. Steward is right!!!!

  • took out too much of the meat and potatoes from the show in this editing..there was some stuff worth watching.
