  • what model battery eliminator are you using for the UVF1?

  • Does the Yaesu VX-8DR have the ability to scramble too?

  • @leongaines No, its against federal law to transmit cipher in a part 97 radio (Amateur, Ham).

  • @Drumbum451 I've gotten a couple of PM's where the guy brought the gear and it was disabled, but the vendor advertized as it being active. the guy called them and the vendor was going to charge them a fee to enable the feature. it was a vendor in China. Yeah that among other reason @ the time was my deciding factor as well. ( of course only used when Society has temporarily taken a dump. Enjoy your new toys.

  • Does this handset requiere a strong signal in order to use the voice scrambler? I am asking because it's like that with my TYT th-2r. At range above 200yrds i can use the scrambler.

  • did you conver msk in another video?

  • @bben95 I mentioned it briefly, on my two radios, it wasn't working very well so I didn't cover it at all in detail. It will transmit MSK but not decode it like the other modes.

  • is 2 tone the same as fire tone?

  • @radiosification Never heard the term fire tone, I hear it refereed as quick-call in California. 2tone is what the Chinese Manufacturer call it, I don't know if its called 2 tone in Europe. The actual technical nomenclature in the industry here is refereed as 1+1 tone coding.

  • @GUERRILLAGEEK I think its meant to be called fire tone out maybe that why you didnt understand me.

here is a link to show what i was talking about

    /watch?v=95sT8O4PNmA

  • @radiosification Just watched he video, Yeah, they are the same thing but called something else. 2tone, 1+1, tone out, fire tone out, same stuff.

  • @GUERRILLAGEEK never mind i just realised you already mentioned it as paging

  • hello

    thank you

    you are soo great man

can you tell me how to do rogerbeep

    same like this

    in you tube

    -------(MOV03247.MPG)------------

iam your broter from saudia arabia

  • Is it rolling or non-rolling type scrambler?

  • @shahmansoor Its Non-rolling, uses the lowest form of voice inversion.

  • Really like all the videos. Wish there was a video to show a beginner how to put stations in memory. The manual is terrible for newbies. Why is there a dual display it seems like any channel I put in goes to the oposite group of numbers so both top and bottom numbers are the same. Ron

  • Wondering if you have a mod or programming input to make the Mic less bassy. If I do a real time side by side test with an ICOM IC-80AD and the UVF1, the 80AD is much more readable. Its almost like the UVF1 is Mumbling compared to the 80AD. All the radios I have sound better. I noticed the same flaw in your video also.

  • Wondering if you could do a video on the actual steps involved with setting up 2 radios to do all of the paging and scrambling modes? I am having trouble finding any documentation on the actual inputs to the software. Thanks for great videos. I am programming 20 radios for a SAR group so getting it right the first time is imperative.

  • @n2kto I'll try for this weekend, PM me some details, 2 tone or 5? I wont cover manually just software, it takes too much time manually, besides, you could only access the paging via software.

  • @GUERRILLAGEEK I'm sort of tone deaf from many years of listenning to static and tones. (Hardcore rock as well) Perhaps playing around with a cap on the mic element could filter out some of the base. I cant think of a value off the top of my head, been awile since getting that deep in mods.

  • To GUERRILLAGEEK, How did you program the tones into the radio?? I just bought a TYT TH-F2. Very Similar to your radio, I am a firefighter and I am trying to figure out how to program my tones into the radio. I know I need a programming cable, but what software do I need?? Or do I need any software at all?? Just trying to figure it out. Thanks!

  • @SavingLives4Life Yeah, you need the software and programming cable to access the signaling options. I just downloaded the software for free from TYT website and looked through the program to confirm, its almost identical to mine. Here's the link, just download your model.

feel free to PM or comment if you have anymore questions. Thanks for watching.

  • @SavingLives4Life

    Hi there...

Just for your info.. a friend and myself both have these TH-F2 radios and weve never been able to make it scramble or compand (with or without) software, even though" they state they do"and have the options in the menu. We also find that the 5tone dosent work niether.Only MSK seems to work??

Ive tried everything ,spent days on it. Still no cigar :-/

  • @celebritypaul Sounds like the f2 and f1series have some difference in options enabled. When I got my radios and downloaded the software, it was software version 1.22. I could not scramble or configure it, much like what you went through. I called the vendor and he has not updated the software to configure it, it was version 1.23. That configuration program opened up all the features it advertized. I've heared horror stories from other users about different versions of the same model.

  • Guerrilla, I just got a Flyer from a TYT dealer with a review from an ARRL guy. The SCRAMBLER is being "deactivated" in anew shipments of TYT's VHF/UHFRadios due to an FCC legality. Now, we know "deactivated" leaves allot to the imagination. Is it gone? Removed? Turned Off and if so can it be turned beack on? Wanted to let you know so that people didnt buy new units and findout there is no scrambler. Now I need fine me another older TYT TH-F5 so I have a set with the scramblers enabled.

    Thanks

  • Good stuff man !!

  • Bad ass. I found the UHF only (TYT TH-2R UHF) for only 50.00$ each. This is an incredible piece of gear. Very impressive!

  • EXCELLENT. I was wondering how the SCRAMBLER would work on my TYT TH-F5 and now I know. While I was watching the Video Im thinking" I wonder if I can go thru the repeater?" Question answered. Your ability to talk to a layman yet be technical is EXCELLENT. Your a real gift to the Prepper Community Keep it up, PLEASE! Ron KB3VEW

  • @ThePauperPrepper Thanks.. You know, this is your fault. You left a comment on one of my videos recommending to check out the TYT Chinese radios you have, and I did. You were right, its a nice piece of gear and I couldn't pass it up. Before I was a radio snob, but the Chinese are gonna shake the industry up a little bit.

  • good vid man love the Scrambler thanks

  • Cool
