I've used ProClip to mount an iPod in a Toyota 4Runner and a Prius. Yes they are a little pricy, but they fit perfectly because the clip is designed over and over again for each specific vehicle. AND, when you remove the clip after years of service, they usually leave zero footprint. Yes! There is no evidence that it was ever there. That's precision engineering that's worth a little extra up front and, let's face it, it's a one time personal infrastructure payment.

I worked in the auto industry for 12 yrs, never put anything on a headrest, your car has a whiplash protection system, when you're hit in the rear the headrest will raise to cradle and protect your head, any extra weight will make this feature not work and will result in an injury.
